Chapter 1090: Second Match

"Well, that’s the end of the first match. Let’s take a break for a while before the next match. Small Knight, is there anything else you know? And if you have anything you’re curious about, you can ask us. Let’s use this chance to share our knowledge before we start the deathmatch," I said.

The first match ended with Crabbe’s close victory. That Giant Knight was much stronger than I expected. I thought even with his size, Crabbe would be able to defeat him rather easily. But it took a while and Crabbe even got injured in the fight. He’s now being healed by the other angels since Graham will take part in the next match against Spider Knight.

And yes, they call themselves Small Knight and Spider Knight. The Small Knight acts as the leader of the three. Though for me, it’s more like those three are siblings. The Small Knight is the oldest, Spider Knight is the middle child, and the Giant Knight is the youngest. At least that’s how I feel about them.

"We don’t know much other than the things that have happened here. And there’s no one, not even a zombie in this dungeon, have entered this room. You are the first one. At least since we started to be able to have intellect. Maybe we already exist before that, but we’re not really aware of it," Small Knight said.

So they just suddenly aware that they are here. And they’re aware that their duty is to defeat intruder.

Just in case, I checked this room if there’s any hidden passage. I did it when I run around in circle to create a huge barrier to protect us from the battle. And there’s no hidden passage at all.

But I felt the mana in this place is much thicker than anywhere else. Especially in the middle of the room. But there’s nothing there. I have checked it over and over again.

It was not just me who was aware of the mana in the middle of the room. All the master level mages here are aware of it.

I have secretly told the Kings about it. So I told them that if there’s anything happen, they have to enter a portal I opened for them right away. To not think about anything and escape as soon as possible if something happen.

"From the look of it, you’re a living creature. Your skin is blue though. Just like Giant Knight and Spider Knight. Is there anything you know about your own race?" I asked curiously.

"My own race?"

The Small Knight then looked at his palm. Though it’s covered with glove, I can tell that he’s actually looking at the color of his hand.

"I don’t know. All I know is that I’m blue," he said.

"Me neither. Even the lower half of my body is blue. But I don’t know why," the Spider Knight said.

"But you’re aware what a spider is, right? Then at least you should have a bit of knowledge outside of this place," I said.

How come they can tell what a spider is but not know about the outside world? It’s weird, right?

"I guess it’s indeed weird. Sorry, but we really have nothing we can tell you," Spider Knight said.

"And although we’re curious about many things, it’s not like we will live another day after all. Even if we end up winning the next two matches, our duty to defeat anyone who entered this room still remains. So we will have to kill the others here after our matches are over. But that’s for later. Let’s not get too close to each other," Small Knight said.

I guess that’s true. Though Albert and old man Henry still have some questions to ask the Black Knights. So it took a while until we’re ready for the next match.

Graham and Spider Knight are already standing in the middle of the room. With the place that has a lot of mana gathered between them. I’m curious about that place.

"Ah, right. Before we start, should I put the barrier? Graham can still fly, but he will not be able to fly so far. And Spider Knight can still walk on the barrier as if it’s a normal wall. But as I said, the place will be narrower than usual. Should I put the barrier?" I asked the two.

"I’m fine with it, Master," Graham said.

"I don’t mind as long I can still walk on it," Spider Knight said.

"Then the match will start as soon as the barrier is erect," I said.

Then like before, I run around the room while drawing a huge circle. Since this room is huge, even with smaller area, Graham can still fly freely. Just not too high.

When I return back to where I started drawing, the two fighters already holding their spears in their hands. They’re both spear fighters. They use spear as their main weapon.

"The match starts... now!" I said as I finished drawing the circle.

The two fighters then rushed at each other with their fastest speed. They tried to finish their fight in one hit with a single trust.

The Spider Knight has longer reach with his longer spear. But Graham is faster. He revealed his twelve wings and changes direction before aiming for the Spider Knight from above.

The Spider Knight then pulled his spear back and uses the shaft of his spear to block Graham’s attack. Unlike Graham whose spear’s shaft is made of flexible wood, Spider Knight’s spear is made entirely of some kind of strong metal. So the shaft is really good for defending.

Our usual enemies, the cult and their monsters, usually won’t force Graham to fight defensively. So this fight could be good for Graham to improve his defensive skill.

"Another fight with different advantages for both fighters. It will be another interesting match. By the way, what about you? Will your fight be inside my barrier? I’m just asking right now so I don’t have to ask you again later," I asked the Small Knight.

"It will be a one-on-one duel. It’s a sacred ceremony for knights. So it’s best to not have anyone interfere even if we’re fighting at a disadvantageous area. So I’d like you to place a barrier again for my match," the Small Knight replied.

Well, I got his permission. I will run in a circle again later after this.

Though if this battle takes so long, I might need to run around again several more times.

"Hmm... I think I’ll just run around again so I can just connect the circle later for the next fight or when this barrier is broken. See you in a bit," I said.

Just in case, I run around five times. Now in front of the place I’m standing, I just need to draw a line so I can connect the circle. There’s no need to run around again after this.

"So all you need to do is to draw a line with that cane and you no longer need to run around again?" Small Knight asked.

"Yeah. As long as the circle is not erased," I said.

Then I focus back my attention to the two who are fighting. Again, I underestimated the opponent.

Spider Knight is not just strong with good defensive skill. He’s also very agile as he could use his lower-half to run on the barrier. Even though Graham is flying and the Spider Knight shouldn’t be able to reach him, he can just attach a string to the barrier and got himself fight in the air.

Spider Knight is also smart. He actually created a web little by little with his string. Now Graham won’t be able to fly too high or he will get caught in the web.

Hmm? That’s interesting.

Now, I stop focusing on the battle. I’m now looking at Georgia.

In the previous fight between two giants, she didn’t show any reaction. She watched the match, but she didn’t react to it. But now, he eyes are following Graham all the time.

And when Graham got attacked by Spider Knight, Georgia showed worried expression. She can now express herself a bit more. That’s good.

Graham is too focused on the battle though. He didn’t even notice that his sister is looking at him. And I won’t tell him at all. Especially when he’s still fighting.

That Spider Knight’s string is strong. Just a single thread and it’s enough to hold the weight of Spider Knight’s body covered with heavy armor. Maybe I should ask him for a lot of threads before the fight begun. What a shame I can’t ask for more.

"I should have asked him for his strings before the fight," I said to myself.

"Yeah. They can be used to make light and flexible armor. Even making normal clothes with them and it would improve the wearer’s defense greatly," Victoria added.

"Then we should look for spider monsters in the future. Maybe we can find stronger one," I suggested.

But before that, we have a fight to finish. And after this, Shelia has her own battle. I’ll just enjoy watching the fight today. By the end of the fight, just like Crabbe, I hope my familiars will get even stronger.
