Chapter 1001: Threatening the Maid’s Mother This Time

We took care of the Principal. This way, he won’t be able to contact his son no matter what. Though it’s still suspicious whether he’s the Principal’s son or not.

That teacher was a master level mage. So investigating about him will be hard. But with Wendy and me, it won’t be too much of a trouble. I hope.

We made sure that we never made any contact with him yet. So he wouldn’t notice that there were two master level mages nearby. But as a teacher, he should have been told about our visit to the school.

For the visit, Wendy will look at the students to see if anyone has good potential or not. I will also do the same. But I will focus more on those with air element magic.

I brought some air guns with me so those air element students can test it. If I see someone with good potential, I might inform Sara about it. There’s no need for me to get involved too much in teaching kids. She’s a better teacher than me anyway.

But before we visit the school officially, we need to meet the maid’s mother personally first. To make sure that she really said the truth about that teacher threatened her with the lives of the students.

We move quickly to the maid’s mother’s house and waited for her there. There were a lot of educational books and items that made Wendy interested. She really wanted to be an educator. When the maid’s mother was about to reach home, I checked where the suspicious teacher was. Then when she closed the door after she entered the house, I covered her mouth, opened a portal, and brought her to where Albert was.

The maid’s mother was panicked when I kidnapped her. Then she was even more shocked to see the King himself in front of him.

Albert calmly told her that he knew about how she was threatened and forced to have her daughter who worked in the palace to do something. And Albert said that he’s willing to help her if possible.

The maid’s mother happily told us everything. About that teacher who threatened her. Thinking that we’re really going to help her.

"Unfortunately, I lied. I won’t help you. I’m just here to use your daughter. We’re using her without her knowing about it. Remember that your daughter’s life is at stake. Go back and return to your normal life while still living in fear of the man who threatened you and me," Albert said coldly.

The woman cried as I brought her back to her house. Then I threatened her to not tell anyone about this meeting. Saying that I’m also a master level mage.

"Is it okay to threaten her?" Wendy asked.

"That’s what Albert told me to do. If we said that her daughter will be fine, she will feel relieved. In case that man saw her feeling relieved, then the only thing we can do is to face him directly. And Albert said that it’s best to wait until the maids delivered their fake reports before we face him directly. For now, we’ll just be professors here for a job," I said.

I don’t really know what the plan is and why we have to do it. I’m not smart enough to think of that. I just decided to trust Albert.

Maybe one day, Albert will really use me for his own personal gain while I know nothing about it. And if that happen, I’m sure I will do it while trusting him.

Well, I don’t think I will care about it. But if I ever learned that what I did for him was something really bad, then I might end up killing my own brother. Though I hope that won’t happen. I wish Albert will not ask his own half-brother to do something for his own greed.

Well, I have Kayla and the others. If I ever think that Albert’s plan is too much, I can consult it with Kayla and the others. They will tell me what’s best for us.

"You trust His Majesty too much, Roy. But I understand. Our job as special agents is to do everything the King ordered us to do without asking question. So we’re quite similar at that," Wendy said.

"Well, now what?" I asked Wendy.

"Let’s go to the inn and go to school tomorrow. The other teachers have been informed about the Principal’s sudden change of schedule. So when we arrive, it will be the Vice Principal who is actually one of us that will greet us. Let’s just do our job normally tomorrow," Wendy said.

I guess there’s really nothing else for us to do. So we returned to the inn and rest. Though I was observing the suspicious teacher the whole time.

His name was... I forgot. Let’s just call him Sus-Teacher.

His home was quite empty. Almost like he owns nothing. Maybe to prepare in case he needed to escape all of a sudden.

I want to see if he has something hidden in his house. But there was nothing. Not even any educational book or a memo he wrote. It’s way too suspicious.

He was supposed to be informed about the principal leaving by another teacher already. But he seemed to not care about it at all. The Principal was supposed to be his father though. I guess he really lied. And the Principal actually believed him.

The next day, Wendy and I went to the school together. It’s already time for class to start, so it’s empty other than in the classroom.

Though inside the classrooms, there’s no full attendance. I saw many empty seats. I guess as usual, those newly awakened mages wanted to be a hunter more than learning.

When we passed the gate, the Vice Principal and the maid’s mother greeted us. The maid’s mother was so shocked to see us coming. I guess she didn’t expect that it would be us she needed to greet.

As for the Sus-Teacher, he’s giving lecture in class. I guess he still did his duty as a teacher.

The Vice Principal guided us as if it’s our first time meeting. We saw some students curiously looking at us. While the teachers looked at us in admiration. Of course with the exception of the maid’s mother.

As for the Sus-Teacher, he seemed to think that our presence here was not important at all. He ignored us.

It should be tomorrow that the maids delivered their reports to the designated location. Once someone picked them up, I will be informed and I can quickly arrest this guy. I hope it won’t take long.
