Chapter 391 Forgive Me This Time
Chapter 391 Forgive Me This Time
"Yan Sijue... I promise you..." she barely held his hands, "I won’t let you worry anymore, please forgive me this time..."
Her face remained as pale as paper, her cheeks streaked with tears, leaving her looking indescribably pitiful and panic-stricken.
The man hugged her tightly, gently kissing her cheek, "You don’t need my forgiveness. You haven’t done anything wrong. Everything I’ve done for you is of my own free will. You don’t need to blame yourself."
She nodded while sobbing, trembling in his embrace.
Yan Sijue’s heart ached terribly, "Don’t be sad, okay? It’s all in the past, your tears are breaking my heart."
She had just woken from a coma, and he knew this wasn’t the right time to discuss this matter, but if he didn’t clarify, it would feel like a thorn in his throat, and she would let her mind wander too.
Yan Sijue thought fiercely, nothing and no one could come between them!
"Okay..." She wiped her tears on him and managed to smile, "I won’t cry anymore."
The man gave a short laugh and leaned down to gently kiss her lips; the cold and soft touch caused his heart to skip a beat.
"I’m going to take a shower." He released her and spoke softly, "Otherwise, you’ll dislike me."
Mu Yiliang couldn’t help but burst out laughing. Not only had the man not showered for two days, but he also hadn’t shaved, and his clothes were wrinkled. She had never seen him so disheveled before.
Yet even in his slump, he still looked handsomely rugged.
"I don’t dislike you," she said softly.
Yan Sijue’s eyes softened as he leaned down to kiss her forehead, "Let me feed you something, and then you should get a good sleep, okay?"
Mu Yiliang, though having no appetite, forced herself to eat half a bowl of porridge. She was still weak, and speaking so much after waking had already drained her energy, so she soon fell back asleep.
The man sat by the bed watching her for a long time before getting up to leave.
In his heart, he knew that even if she readily agreed now, the next time something happened to her friends, she wouldn’t just stand by... But it’s okay, he wouldn’t give anyone that chance again.
As the man pushed open the door to leave, his dark eyes were ominously deep.
Xiao Qi sighed, "I’ll watch over her, you take a rest."
Yan Sijue glanced at her and suddenly spoke, "Xiao Qi, are you planning to keep following Qiao Yebai?"
Xiao Qi was stunned, "What?"
"His ambitions are too great. Sooner or later, you’ll get into trouble working under him." Yan Sijue gave her a look, "I know none of you are particularly ambitious, so why engage in such dangerous work?"
Xiao Qi was somewhat puzzled, but Yan Sijue’s gaze was so profound that it sent a slight chill down her spine, "I think it’s okay... for me, it doesn’t matter much what I do, I’m just used to following Jason’s arrangements."
Yan Sijue raised an eyebrow, his smile peculiar, "Jason, huh..."
Xiao Qi swallowed with difficulty.
"And that big dummy... what’s his name?"
"Robert? He’s like me, more of a laid-back person."
"That’s good." Yan Sijue offered a faint smile, "It’s just the three of you as Yiliang’s friends, right?"
Xiao Qi felt even more bewildered and nodded blankly, "Is...is there a problem?"
"Just three, that’s not too many." Yan Sijue seemed to be speaking to himself and, after finishing, stopped looking at her and turned to leave.
Xiao Qi looked inexplicably at his back, furrowing her brows for a long time before pushing the door open to go inside.
