Chapter 1710 - 794: Turning Point of Destiny
The territory of the Taranor Confederation is vast, approximately 3,000 miles long and 2,000 miles wide, with over 300 city-states of various sizes located at the southernmost tip of the Gray Soil Continent.
During the expansion process, Horus was surprised to discover that upon leaving Taranor, they had arrived at the Ice Soil Continent.
As one of the Edge Continents, the Ice Soil Continent is characterized by its distinctly gray-white soil, frozen into blocks, extremely cold; but according to Trolian records, the Ice Soil Continent is situated far west, beyond the Ash Land.
So why does it appear on the south side of Trolian?
After a brief investigation, Horus confirmed that this was indeed the Ice Soil Continent, matching all records: cold, ice winds howling, endless chill seemingly blown from a distant Void, its ground extremely firm, solidified by immensely strong Spiritual Energy that even the Commander could not leave a footprint here.
The final city of the Taranor Confederation lies at the junction of the Ice Soil Continent and the Gray Soil Continent.
It is a tremendously majestic War Fortress, with walls built from unrecognizable Spiritual Energy materials, solidified beyond imagination. Horus believed that apart from the True King, no one could break this fortress.
Even its name is the "Everlasting Dawn Radiance."
Of course, the "Everlasting Dawn Radiance" has long fallen, with countless powerful monsters residing within, all slain by Horus.
It was here that Horus discovered information related to the "mysterious."
It turns out, the "mysterious" is an area sealed by the Mist.
No one can enter this area, the enigmatic Mist perpetually echoes above it, any entrant would emerge from the other side.
For a long time, this area went unnoticed by anyone, people merely assumed they were passing through the Mist normally until Talarno attempted to expand towards the Ice Soil Continent and discovered this mysterious area, its internal Space discordant with the external; upon further investigation, it was found that the space within the Mist had been completely distorted and alienated, like an empty circular shell, protecting a region akin to a black hole.
Even the Four Gods couldn’t breach this spatial barrier.
Over countless years, they tried many methods to no avail, thus concluding the "mysterious" to be an Ancient Relic.
Yet, at this time, the "mysterious" did not receive genuine attention.
Horus gathered information within Taranor during this period, learning they referred to this era as the "Binding Era," with the preceding era being the "Heavenly God Epoch."
After a disaster known as the "Twilight of the Gods," the "Heavenly God Epoch" ended, and the Black Fog began restricting all paths to becoming a "Heavenly God." This restriction tightened gradually, no matter how they struggled, it was futile.
For everyone in this era, there is an unbreakable rope around their necks, which gradually tightens with time.
The terror of inevitably progressing toward Destruction haunts the hearts of all, unable to be dispelled.
How to untie the rope is the Sword of Damocles that hangs over their heads.
Though "mysterious" is truly enigmatic, there are many such relics and it is not the most crucial.
Until one day, a multitude of monsters suddenly emerged from the "mysterious." These monsters were incredibly strange and extremely powerful, generally possessing level 17 extreme Spiritual Energy, without true Souls but wielding potent Source Law Power; most terrifyingly, a dreadful distortion surrounded them, a halo later named the "Mad Crown" encircled their bodies.
Anyone approaching these monsters would rapidly lose their sanity, showing symptoms such as declining Spiritual Vision, diminishing Inspiration, emotional indifference; and these changes are irreversible, gradually intensifying, ultimately leading to complete loss of control and madness.
Later, it was discovered that this was due to the massive corruption of Humanity within these monsters, even their bodies primarily composed of corrupted Humanity. Under the special Spiritual Energy influence, corrupted Humanity eventually formed the "Mad Crown" halo, capable of undermining the rationality of all orderly Spirits, causing their minds to lose control gradually and ultimately driving them completely mad.
Taranor paid a hefty price to eliminate these monsters, they were astonished to discover that although these monsters lacked Souls, inside their bodies was a "Heart."
This Heart was composed of Divine Source Material and Divine Stone, forming a unique structure enveloped by a substance known as "Divine Flesh."
The importance of Divine Source Material is undeniable, Divine Stone is equally crucial as their Soul Elements, both resources long in demand for Taranor; even more astonishing is the "Divine Flesh," its interior brimming with immensely potent Life Power and Soul Power, its enhancement capability surpasses the imagination of the Four Gods.
This Heart is of such priceless value that Taranor’s losses pale in comparison.
And this attack granted Taranor over a hundred Hearts.
The tremendous gains drew the gaze of the Four Gods directly to this Mist, indisputably, these mad monsters emerged from the "mysterious," so what truly lies within the "mysterious"? Is it the lair of these monsters? Are there more of such monsters within?
