Chapter 723: The Warship-Cutting Blade

A colossal specialized Sniper Rifle fired, unleashing a thick beam that struck the Small Galaxy-level Powerhouse.

Zzzt!

A charred wound appeared on the Small Galaxy-level Powerhouse. Zhang Tao's expression shifted slightly, quickly distancing himself.

As the pilot of a long-range attack Mecha, he'd never engage in close combat. With Luo Hang around, close combat wouldn't be his responsibility.

At this moment, Luo Hang employed his Psychic power to harass, the Warship-Cutting Blade leaving streaks of luminous slashes in the void, targeting the Small Galaxy-level Powerhouse.

Blade light shimmered. Every slash aimed directly at the Powerhouse's head.

"What kind of Mecha is this? Why is its defense so formidable?" Every punch the Small Galaxy-level Powerhouse threw at the Mecha felt as if he was hitting steel, the Mecha unfazed.

He didn't realize that this was the top-tier Celestial Armor ultimate version from Red Alert Base, further enhanced with multiple upgrades of a Psychic shield. It could barely withstand a first-tier Small Galaxy attack and, at most, endure a full-on assault from a second-tier Small Galaxy.

This was Luo Hang's first direct confrontation with a Small Galaxy Powerhouse. The adversary was mighty, landing many blows on Luo Hang. His Warship-Cutting Blade inflicted only minor damage; barely breaking the Powerhouse's defenses.

The gap in strength wasn't something a mere Celestial Armor could bridge.

With his eighth-order peak strength, combined with the Celestial Armor, he might come close to a Small Galaxy level, but facing a genuine Small Galaxy combatant, he still fell short.

Zhang Tao intermittently fired, supporting Luo Hang and causing considerable trouble for the Small Galaxy-level Powerhouse.

After a while, the Powerhouse's expression darkened. He hadn't expected the fight against these two Mechas to be so tough. If other ship captains found out, he'd lose face.

"Die!"

He roared, gathering an energy orb between his hands. Its power was so immense that not even the Celestial Armor's Psychic shield could block it.

Seeing this, Luo Hang urgently communicated to Zhang Tao through the internal channel, "Tao, now's the time!"

"Only when you need me, you call me 'brother Tao', huh?" Zhang Tao teased, but his hands moved swiftly.

Massive energy converged onto his Sniper Rifle, a technique he'd learned from Ju Ling. Though he couldn't match Ju Ling's prowess, he was still significantly more potent than most.

Luo Hang tried to distract the Powerhouse, but an energy barrier seemed to surround him, making it impossible for the Warship-Cutting Blade to break through.

"You think you're the only one with a trump card? Watch this!"

Luo Hang manipulated his Mecha, and the Warship-Cutting Blade underwent a dramatic transformation. It grew rapidly, reaching a length of five kilometers in a blinding glow.

In the vastness of the Universe, five kilometers might seem insignificant.

But this was the Warship-Cutting Blade in its full glory!

Named 'Warship', its primary function was to cut down warships. But this time, Luo Hang was using it to strike down an individual.

"Warship-Cutting Blade, strike!"

With Luo Hang's roar, the massive blade descended with an overwhelming force, brutally landing on the Small Galaxy-level Powerhouse.

"Bastard!"

The Powerhouse bellowed. While forming his energy ball, he couldn't move. He unleashed more energy, creating a robust shield to withstand this blow.

Even in the vacuum of space, where sound couldn't travel, one could still see the massive explosion resulting from this clash.

Using the Warship-Cutting Blade's full power rendered it nearly useless afterward, a move reserved for the direst of circumstances.

"You have to be dead after that!" Luo Hang gasped. It was no small feat to control such a colossal blade, and the Mecha's power alone wasn't enough; the pilot's energy was crucial too.

Soon after, he saw the battered state of the Small Galaxy-level Powerhouse. Half of his body had vanished, likely due to the blade's strike, yet he still lived!

"How is he still alive after that?" Luo Hang exclaimed with a sarcastic smile, "But don't celebrate just yet."

"Damn you..." The injured Powerhouse growled. Since becoming a captain, he had never suffered such grievous injuries.

But as he prepared to retaliate, a flash of light approached swiftly. Normally, he could dodge, but his severe injuries hindered his movements. The flash pierced through the back of his head.

The Small Galaxy-level Powerhouse was dead!

"Tao, if you hadn't acted, I'd be gone by now," Luo Hang said with a wry smile.

"Weren't you acting all mighty just now? Should I find another enemy at the same level for you?" Zhang Tao teased.

Both of them were almost out of combat strength. Luo Hang's blade was fragmented, and Zhang Tao's full-power attack had damaged his Sniper Rifle.

They had to temporarily withdraw, regroup, and rejoin the battle.

Wars didn't end quickly; they both knew this well.

Luo Hang and Zhang Tao weren't the only ones. Other Red Alert soldiers, using their Mechas and Fighter Jets, also managed to kill some Small Galaxy-level Powerhouses.

Relative to the adversaries, the losses of the Red Alert Empire were heavier. A Small Galaxy-level Powerhouse wasn't easy to kill. On most planets, they were peak combatants.

"Who can tell me what's going on? Why can their Mechas kill our Small Galaxy-level Powerhouses? Someone explain!"

Hu Song was furious. He'd assumed sending out the Small Galaxy-level Powerhouses would easily deter the enemy. Yet, not even half an hour into the battle, he received news of their losses, which continued to grow.

This was unthinkable. The Small Galaxy-level Powerhouses weren't mere nobodies. Even in the Empire, they were revered. The news of them being killed by mass-produced Mecha Fighter Jets would be hard to believe back at the Imperial Star.

The Feathered Warbler Empire was aware of the existence of Mecha Fighter Jets, but they deemed them as mere toys, best suited against Ninth-level Peaks. They hadn't expected to see Mecha Fighter Jets capable of taking down Small Galaxy-level combatants.

"General, there's only one way now. We need to storm their fleet. With the Empire's Warship technology, we can obliterate their fleet. Without the Warships' support, those Mecha Fighter Jets will run out of energy and be rendered useless!" (To be continued)
