Chapter 722: Duel Between the Two!
Luo Hang piloted the Celestial Armor, charging straight into the enemy fleet's core. Here, the enemy fleet couldn't recklessly shoot at will, to avoid accidentally damaging their own warships.
Once they broke through the initial barrage, they could catch a brief respite.
Luo Hang wasted no time. He targeted a warship, and the Celestial Armor drew a white streak in the sky, landing heavily on the warship.
"Commander Alice, where is the warship's ammunition depot?" Luo Hang inquired.
A translucent interface appeared before him, displaying the three-dimensional structure of the warship. At the very bottom of the ship, a location was marked. This was the ammunition depot he was searching for.
His plan was straightforward. He couldn't destroy the entire warship, but if he detonated the ammunition depot, the warship would be crippled if not destroyed.
"So, it's here!" Luo Hang chuckled, drawing out a ship-slicing blade from the Mecha.
For the Celestial Armor, this blade was its most potent weapon; other long-range weapons were almost negligible.
Ding!
The blade struck the warship's surface but met an energy protective shield. It only caused minor ripples and failed to penetrate.
"Is this shell that tough?" Luo Hang mused.
He had forgotten that the Feathered Warbler Empire's warship technology was highly advanced, particularly regarding their protective shields. The incident with the dark space mine had been an exception; the shield hadn't been active then, as it consumed significant energy.
Suddenly, a laser cannon protruded from a nearby warship, aiming at Luo Hang. But in the next moment, a beam of light hit the cannon, destroying it. A mocking voice reached Luo Hang, "Little Hang, you're still as careless as ever. If it weren't for your brother Tao, you would've used up a lot of your psychic shield energy."
Luo Hang smirked, "Brother Tao? Had you not claimed to be only a few years older than me, I would've long considered you an old man. Uncle Tao!"
Zhang Tao's lips twitched in annoyance. Was it just because he seemed a bit more mature?
"Enough chatter," he replied. "Come, let's target one spot together. Commander Alice said even the warship's protective shield has its limits. If we focus our attack on one spot, we might create a temporary breach."
With a serious approach to their mission, Zhang Tao assisted Luo Hang in pinpointing a location on the warship to attack relentlessly.
Many others were doing the same, with the aid of Alice's guidance.
Although Alice's auxiliary versions didn't have the same computational capabilities as her main body, they were still the best assistance for simple tasks.
Not long into the battle, General Hu Song, fuming, slapped his deputy. "Who can tell me how those toy-like things managed to break our blockade?" Hu Song roared, with his close aides bowing their heads, no one daring to speak up.
"Ge... General, perhaps their technology is superior," the deputy stammered, his face swelling. "But I believe that with our Empire's warship technology, we will undoubtedly annihilate them!"
"Yes, General," another aide spoke. "They're fast, but their attacks can't penetrate our warships' shields. With our warships' weaponry and the Small Galaxy level Powerhouses, we'll defeat these enemies."
Hu Song seemed slightly pacified. He ordered, "Deploy all Small Galaxy level Powerhouses and eliminate these pests."
"Yes!"
The deployment of the Small Galaxy level Powerhouses caused significant damage to the Red Alert's vanguard. In a direct confrontation, the latter was still at a disadvantage.
As Luo Hang and Zhang Tao were about to breach the warship, an alert rang in their Mechas. A Small Galaxy level Powerhouse had targeted them!
"It's bad, Little Hang, run! I'll cover our retreat," Zhang Tao exclaimed.
Even with their Celestial Armor, confronting a Small Galaxy level Powerhouse was a challenging feat unless they were of the same level themselves, which they weren't.
"I made a vow to prove myself to the Boss Lady," Luo Hang retorted. "I'll make her proud and show her that choosing me was the right decision."
Hearing this, Zhang Tao fell silent.
Both of them had once lived aimless lives until they met the Boss Lady, who taught them how to live with purpose. They later formed a team under her leadership, becoming envied Transcendents. They owed their new lives to her, and now she was an Empress, second only to the Emperor. They had to make her proud.
The two faced the Small Galaxy level Powerhouse, silently analyzing him.
"Small Galaxy tier one, long-range type. Weakness at the back of the head. Probability of defeating... 19%," Alice's analysis reported.
Luo Hang smirked, "Almost a 20% chance. Not bad."
Laughing, Zhang Tao added, "Little Hang, it's been a while since we teamed up. Time for us to shine!"
This Small Galaxy level Powerhouse was the captain of the warship. He had already noticed the two Mechas relentlessly attacking one spot. If they continued, they'd eventually break into the ship.
Upon receiving the attack order, he immediately sought out the two Mechas, determined to destroy them.
However, as he was about to strike, an intense pain surged from within, making him roar in agony, blood spilling from his mouth.
His eyes were filled with disbelief. What was this power that could hurt him?
He didn't know Luo Hang had unleashed a psychic attack. Although Luo Hang wasn't talented in psychic control, he excelled in psychic assault. With his current prowess, he managed to injure a Small Galaxy tier one Powerhouse!
"Perfect opportunity!" Zhang Tao quickly pulled out a massive sniper rifle attached to his Mecha. His shooting skills were exceptional, honed by training with Red Alert Base's snipers. Now was his moment to shine!
