Chapter 915 You’re Capable
Chapter 915 You’re Capable

A night passed, and the morning light embraced Harbor Island.
The first rays of the sun touched down, and Ling Feng returned to his villa situated halfway up the hill.
He had expected Zhang He to be there, but upon entering and asking Aunt Xue, he found out he hadn’t come back at all!
Chen Murong and her daughter, however, were both present; hearing of Ling Feng’s return, they immediately came downstairs.
"Mr. Ling, you’re finally back!" Chen Murong exclaimed.
Ling Feng was stunned for a moment: "What’s wrong?"
"A lot happened on Harbor Island last night, we were worried about your safety!" Zheng Yitong said.
"Oh, don’t worry, what could possibly happen to me?"
Ling Feng smiled and turned around: "See, I’m perfectly fine, aren’t I?"
"That’s a relief!"
Chen Murong breathed a sigh of relief and sat back down to tell Aunt Xue, "Make something for Mr. Ling to eat."
"Okay!"
Aunt Xue nodded and went to the kitchen.
Ling Feng smiled again, then asked: "Did Zhang He call back? Why hasn’t he returned yet?"
"Cousin said he’d be late, he’s been busy from last night till now," Zheng Yitong quickly explained.
"Oh, let him be busy then. I’m too lazy to bother!"
Ling Feng chuckled. Noticing the mother and daughter looking at him, he couldn’t help but ask, "Why are you two staring at me like that? Don’t worry about me, just go upstairs and rest!"
"Well, Mr. Ling, actually, it’s like this."
Zheng Yitong felt a bit awkward and glanced at her mother.
Understanding, Chen Murong took over the conversation: "After last night’s event, the entire Harbor Island entertainment industry witnessed that scene on stage. So, a few people would like to meet Mr. Ling."
"Oh?"
Ling Feng paused, then curiously asked, "Who are they?"
"There’s Big Brother Fa, Big Brother Hua, and Big Brother Long!"
Chen Murong smiled: "These are well-known figures in the Harbor Island entertainment circle, very influential. After we came back last night, they each called to inquire about your identity. I didn’t say much, but they still wish to meet and talk with you."
Ling Feng was actually quite intrigued; after all, they were his childhood idols, and it would definitely be good to see them in person!
But he knew he was short on time. After last night’s incident with the Holy Light Society, there was no reason for him to stay in Harbor Island.
So after a moment’s thought, Ling Feng looked up, "I can meet them, but I have to leave tonight at the latest!"
"Is it really that urgent?"
Zheng Yitong was taken aback and quickly asked.
"Yes, I’m too busy, too many things going on!" Ling Feng said helplessly.
Actually, he had no further appointments planned, but he still wanted to go home early as he had been away for too long recently!
Hearing this, Zheng Yitong bit her lip: "Okay, I’ll try to arrange it and see if the big brothers can make some time."
Ling Feng nodded: "Thanks, I appreciate it."
Chen Murong glanced at her daughter, said nothing more, but picked up a newspaper from the table: "Mr. Ling, have a look at this first. Last night’s series of events have all been reported."
"That fast?"
Ling Feng was surprised, taking the newspaper to read.
The most conspicuous articles were about last night’s awards ceremony and the unexpected incident that occurred.
The police had already stepped forward to explain the sequence of events, identifying a person who impersonated an award-winning star intending to harm the award presenter.
As for the motive, the police did not elaborate, stating that the investigation was still ongoing.
The news included photos from the scene, Ling Feng frowned as he glanced over them—his figure appeared in all three photos!
It was just as Zhang He had said; after this incident, it would be impossible for him not to become famous!
Looking up at Chen Murong, Ling Feng asked, "Auntie, now that this news is out, will it affect me?"
"The impact is significant; many people have been asking me who you are or where I found such a bodyguard!" Chen Murong nodded.
Ling Feng: "..."
"But don’t worry, I didn’t reveal your identity!" Chen Murong said.
"Thank you, Auntie!"
Ling Feng nodded, thinking that with today’s pervasive media, his family at home probably saw this news too.
His girlfriend seeing it wasn’t much, but if the central bureau saw it, that wouldn’t be too good!
However, he didn’t show it, just smiled wryly and then turned to the next piece of news.
The second item was about an incident last night involving a building from which several foreign men and women were carried away by unidentified personnel, with the journalists clueless about their identities. It was clear that the scene was tightly locked down, even journalists could not get close or conduct interviews nearby.
Ling Feng flipped the newspaper, continuing to the next piece.
This article was about the very building that housed a branch of the Holy Light Society and the incident that occurred there.
This news was added at the last minute, as the newspaper’s layout gets decided at 2 am, and printing starts at 3 am. If any breaking news arises, the newsroom adds it just before the press starts, appending it to the already prepared pages.
Although rare, such instances are not unheard of in this digital age, where news from any corner of the world can spread globally within two hours.
And so the traditional print media, struggling to keep up with broadcasting speeds, had devised new ways to update news quickly.
That report was brief, detailing an unexpected accident at a branch of some country’s corporation, followed by a mysterious fire. Following the blaze, about a dozen people died on the scene, and a significant amount of documentation was destroyed.
It was a piece of societal news, but at the end of the content, the journalist added one line: "The cause of the incident urgently needs investigation, suspected foul play for financial gain!"
Ling Feng’s heart sank, thinking that he had been very careful, not killing anyone directly but merely knocking those people unconscious before setting the fire. How could the journalist have deduced it?
While he was pondered this, his phone suddenly rang urgently, prompting Ling Feng to put down the newspaper and answer the call.
"You were quite something, uncle!"
A crisp voice came through—it was Li Fei’er.
Ling Feng was taken aback, then chuckled: "What’s up?"
"What’s up? You were really busy last night?" Li Fei’er asked, slightly annoyed.
In front of Chen Murong, Ling Feng was reluctant to explain much, laughing as he spoke: "Don’t talk nonsense, I’ve been busy outside. I’ll tell you when I get back!"
"When are you coming back then?" Li Fei’er asked.
"Probably tonight at the earliest, don’t worry!" Ling Feng said.
"It’s not me who’s worried; everyone else is anxious. You’ve stirred up such a big mess, now the folks at Shiliu Village all know you went to Harbor Island!" Li Fei’er said.
"Uh..."
Ling Feng was at a loss for words: "If they know I came to Harbor Island, let them know. What’s there to worry about?"
"They don’t know the details, but we do. What exactly are you up to?" Li Fei’er asked.
"Let’s not rush to explain now; we’ll talk later. I’m busy, bye!" Ling Feng quickly ended the call.
