Chapter 893 Conjecture
Chapter 893 Conjecture
Pete knew that Ling Feng had misunderstood, so he quickly explained:
"Mr. Ling, please don’t overthink it. After taking this drug, a person will lose their mind and act according to the controller’s intentions, but their body cannot be harmed. If it is, their nervous system will react, and they will wake up immediately!"
"Oh, what do you think I’ve misunderstood?" Ling Feng glanced at him.
"Uh..."
Pete was embarrassed.
Ling Feng chuckled, "You think I’m as depraved as you, to use this on a beautiful woman?"
"No, not at all!" Pete’s face turned red, and he denied it hastily.
Ling Feng rolled his eyes and then asked, "How long has this drug been developed?"
"Almost two months, I guess. Mr. Ling, why do you ask?" Pete inquired.
"Two months..."
Ling Feng pondered for a moment, then asked, "Let me ask you, do you recognize a guy named Kong Sheng?"
"Kong Sheng..."
Pete appeared thoughtful, then shook his head: "The Knight Order is spread out everywhere; I haven’t heard this name!"
"Can you check?" Ling Feng continued.
Pete, not knowing what he was up to, nodded and said, "I can try to search on our internal network, but I can’t find high-level members of the Knight Order because my clearance isn’t high enough!"
"That kid might not be a high-level member. Anyway, you come with me later. Find a place with a network and check for me!" Ling Feng said.
The reason he thought of this was that Ling Feng remembered the Belarusian woman targeting him. He had now confirmed that Kong Sheng was involved, and knowing about this BH drug, that kid was likely using it to control the woman!
This possibility was not nonexistent, and the chances were quite high!
Ling Feng didn’t believe Kong Sheng had the charisma to make a president run errands for him!
The only possibility was that the kid had manipulated her somehow!
After securing the drug, Ling Feng continued to question Pete: "Is there an antidote for this stuff?"
"No. Generally, if control is detected, you just need to hit them, stimulating the nervous system does the trick!" Kong Sheng said.
"Understood!"
Ling Feng nodded and stood up, saying, "You can’t leave for now; we’ll talk after I’ve handled things!"
"Okay, all right."
Pete didn’t dare to say anything else and just nodded obediently.
Then Ling Feng turned to Li Fei’er and Liya, "The two of you go inside to rest. I’ll keep an eye on this guy outside, so he doesn’t run away in the middle of the night!"
"Okay!"
The two women nodded, and Li Fei’er added, "Or just leave Wang Cai and Yellow here. With them around, not even a deity could hide!"
Ling Feng nodded, "That works, then I can get some good sleep too!"
After deciding, he shooed Pete into the tent and collected all the weapons left behind by the Knight Order members.
Next, he opened each person’s Ring, conducting a thorough search.
The result was somewhat disappointing; this bunch was quite poor. The cash in their Rings totaled only a few hundred thousand Euros, and the rest were miscellaneous items of little value.
Ling Feng had hoped for a decent haul, but it turned out to be such a letdown. Resigned, he threw all the Rings into his Space Bracelet.
He himself might not care for these trinkets, but going back and giving them to Zhang He and the others, they would surely treasure them!
After cleaning up, it was already late at night, so Ling Feng crawled into the tent next to Pete’s and lay down to rest for a while.
The sleep was far from restful; there was always a strange smell in the foreigner’s tent, an odor that was either sweat or mutton, but definitely a bit unpleasant.
So, as soon as the sky began to brighten, Ling Feng crawled out of the tent.
From the tent next door, Pete emitted tremendous snores, and Ling Feng shook his head, "This kid, can he really sleep that soundly?"
Watching the eastern sky slowly turn red, he knew the sun was about to rise, so he sat down on a rock, ready to take in the dawn scenery!
Half an hour later, the sun burst over the horizon.
Then, a figure hurried up from the mountain base; by the look and dress, it must be someone from the village below.
After the villager arrived, seeing Ling Feng, he quickly approached and babbled a few sentences.
Ling Feng couldn’t understand a word, so he stood up and walked toward the house.
He called Liya out, and after she listened, she turned to Ling Feng and said, "My master has sent a message; he wants us to go directly to Buddha Master!"
"What do you mean; does he know we’re here?" Ling Feng asked.
"It seems so; otherwise, he wouldn’t have specifically called the villagers down the mountain!" Liya nodded.
Ling Feng was speechless but didn’t say anything. He smiled and said, "Alright then, let’s pack up and get ready to leave!"
Liya went back inside to freshen up while Ling Feng turned to the tent beside him and woke up Pete.
He then supervised Pete as he packed up all the tents and stuffed them into his Space Bracelet.
After they finished their tasks, the group descended the mountain.
Pete knew he couldn’t avoid it, so he cooperated very well; without Ling Feng needing to say anything, he got straight into the car.
But when he found out they were heading to Buddha Master’s place, Pete immediately chickened out!
Turning around in the passenger seat, he made a pitiful plea, "Mr. Ling, could you please not take me there?"
"Why? What are you afraid of?" Ling Feng asked.
"Buddha Master kills without blinking an eye. He has always been unkind to us missionaries. I’ll die if I go!" Pete said.
"Oh? So you have people you’re afraid of too. No wonder you’re looking for Master Kong Kong!"
Ling Feng sneered, then said, "Don’t worry. You’re with me now; he won’t kill you!"
"I..."
Pete wanted to say something more, but Ling Feng glared at him, "If you don’t go, I can just kill you here and throw your body into the woods to feed the wolves!"
"I’ll go, I’ll go!"
Pete instantly changed his expression and dared not say another word.
Liya exchanged a look with Li Fei’er and both silently chuckled.
It seems like the saying ’it takes one to deal with another’ really fits this situation, doesn’t it?
The car wound through the mountain forest, and since they didn’t know the exact location of Buddha Master’s base, the driver needed to use the navigation coordinates provided by Liya to find the way, so the going was even slower.
After another day of driving, they finally entered the mountainous area inside the Golden Triangle.
As the number of armed individuals on the road increased, the car was repeatedly stopped for inspection, each time delaying their journey for three to five minutes before they could leave.
When they finally arrived at a large mountain village nestled among the mountains, the sun had completely set.
The square was brightly lit, with both electric lights and the red glow of fire pits illuminating the surroundings as if it were daylight.
Ling Feng hadn’t even gotten out of the car when he saw Buddha Master, with a gaunt little old man standing beside him.
The yellow robe on the man said it all; this person was none other than Liya’s master, Master Kong Kong!
