Chapter 794: The Master
Chapter 794: The Master
Master Sun’s eyebrows were tightly furrowed as he stared at the dark clouds, pondering for a moment before saying, "Indeed, a high person, impressive, very impressive!"
"What do you mean?"
The aloof woman named He Qian, He Wei’s older sister, was the one orchestrating the series of events against Ling Feng, obviously to make things unpleasant for him!
Of course, this was only the initial stage. In her view, merely causing discomfort for Ling Feng was not enough; her own brother’s life had been lost, and this vengeance would have to be avenged sooner or later!
Master Sun turned back and said, "Such peculiar clouds, such heavy rain, of course, it’s not a natural phenomenon, it’s caused by someone using a certain formation that can summon thunderstorms!"
"Does that Ling fellow still have such a trick up his sleeve?"
Hearing this, He Qian frowned and inquired.
"Even if it’s not him, it must be a high person. No one else has this kind of skill!" Master Sun said.
He Qian looked at him, "Master, then do you have any solution? The engineering project can’t be delayed, who knows how long this rain will last?"
"I can give it a try!"
Master Sun nodded slightly, then turned back to instruct the young man behind him, "Bring over my magic artifact!"
"Yes, Master!"
The young man responded and immediately turned to the back of the car, taking out a rectangular box from the trunk.
Upon opening it, the box turned into an impromptu table, on which various items were placed: candlesticks, an incense burner, yellow ceremonial paper, and so on.
Then, with his disciple’s assistance, Master Sun changed into an apricot-yellow Daoist robe and pinched a dark red peach wood sword in his hand.
He Qian stood not far away, watching with a complex expression.
"Miss, if you ask me, why not just go directly to that Ling fellow, cripple him, and be done with all these troubles!" He Jiuguang said in a lowered voice.
He Qian turned to look at him, "Can you do it?"
"Uh, although I can’t, we can find someone else to do it!" He Jiuguang replied.
"Let’s wait and see!"
He Qian shook her head and turned back to continue watching Master Sun’s side.
Seeing that she did not agree, He Jiuguang narrowed his eyes and began to secretly scheme in his heart.
Over at Master Sun’s side, the ritual began. First, he lit a talisman, attached it to the tip of the peach wood sword, and started chanting. Then, he pointed towards the black clouds and shouted, "Supreme Elder Lord, hasten as if it’s law!"
"Whoosh!"
Everyone felt a gust of wind blow past, and then the talisman actually flew out against the wind!
He Qian’s eyes lit up at the sight, and He Jiuguang was also pleasantly surprised, thinking to himself, could it really work?
Just as this thought crossed his mind, he saw the talisman, shimmering with firelight, suddenly fly back and slam into Master Sun!
"Ow!"
Master Sun cried out in pain as he was struck by the talisman, his body flung backward and landing more than ten meters away!
Despite his regular practice and decent physical condition, the impact left him in a state of confusion, groaning on the ground, unable to get up!
Master Sun’s disciple hurried over to carefully help him to his feet.
He Qian looked back and asked, "Master, how are you feeling?"
"I’ve been hit by a backlash of magical power, but there’s no serious harm. That formation is very powerful, seemingly containing the force to destroy worlds. Forgive me, but I am powerless against it!"
Master Sun said with an embarrassed face while clutching his chest, gasping for breath.
Upon hearing this, He Qian’s heart sank to the bottom of the valley!
This Master Sun was the only expert they could find in the province, and even he couldn’t tackle this bizarre downpour?
After a moment of contemplation, He Qian nodded, "You’ve worked hard, Master. Please get in the car and rest for now, I’ll have someone send you home later!"
"Miss He, I must remind you that what I said earlier was not an exaggeration—the formation is indeed strong. If you want to break it, the best way is to find the person who set it up!" Master Sun said.
He Qian didn’t respond and just furrowed her brow, turning back to her own car.
He Jiuguang stood there dumbfounded, wondering what act this was and what he should do now.
It took a full half hour before He Qian got down from the car and glanced at him, "You stay here, and notify me immediately of any new developments!"
"Oh, okay."
As soon as He Jiuguang uttered two words, He Qian returned to her car, and then the convoy turned around and left!
"..."
Watching the backs of the departing cars, He Jiuguang was speechless.
The work shed was within the range of the torrential rain. Aside from Li Yumei’s home nearby, there was only one car left for him.
The boss wanted him to stay behind, so he could only guard in the car, feeling a bit wretched.
But there was no choice—at the end of the day, who didn’t want to curry favor with the He family? He was just an illegitimate child; how could he gain their approval without making some achievements?
With no other option, He Jiuguang got into the car, flattened the seat to lie down, and Ling Feng’s grinning face emerged in his mind!
"Ling, I’m not through with you!"
Meanwhile, Ling Feng, utterly unaware of what had happened at home, was busy amusing children in the Nine Heavens!
Chen Yuhe’s younger brother and Li Yumei’s daughter, these two kids were now running around everywhere, chirping and cheerful, very lively. Due to their extended stay in the Nine Heavens, the children’s constitution was excellent—they could run around the woods of the First Layer of Heaven all day without getting tired.
And the two children were very attached to Ling Feng, staying by his side laughing and playing when they saw him, creating a warm atmosphere.
As for Li Shiyun, she now wore a smiling aunt’s face, sitting on the grass watching the adults and children play together, in a very good mood.
The happier the time, the faster it seemed to fly by. By the time Ling Feng and the children had had enough play, he checked his phone only to find that a whole night had passed.
After taking the two sleeping kids to the wooden house, he got up and left, teleporting back home.
Stepping outside, he saw that the downpour in the village was still ongoing; half-cleared debris had turned to sludge, and newly dug foundation pits were all filled with rainwater. There was simply no way to contain water at the construction site anymore—the falling rainwater had turned into a river, flowing away along the village creek.
What surprised Ling Feng was that by now a crowd had gathered at the village entrance, mostly everyone with a phone in hand, capturing the peculiar rain scene.
It was not so strange—such a torrential rain, continuing for twenty-four hours and targeting just one place, was unheard of!
Seeing that Shiliu Village was about to become a sightseeing spot, Ling Feng thought it better to conserve some spiritual energy. After all, the rain had already hindered construction work for at least ten days to half a month.
So he left his house and went back to the formation he had set up on North Mountain, temporarily ceasing the thunderstorm formation.
Shortly thereafter, the clouds in the sky gradually faded, the rain all but immediately stopped, and soon the dark clouds dispersed and the sun shined down on Shiliu Village once again.
He Jiuguang, who had been sleeping soundly in the car, jumped up at the sound of people’s exclamations, immediately taking out his phone in excitement and calling He Qian.
"Miss, the rain has stopped!"
