The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 773 Unknown Creature

Chapter 773 Unknown Creature

Facing the strong wind, Ling Feng arrived next to the helicopter, knowing it was impossible to be heard, so he communicated with the pilot by gesturing and mouthing words.

Eventually, the helicopter pilot finally understood his intent and gave a thumbs up to indicate comprehension, then began to maneuver the aircraft to ascend slowly into mid-air.

Only then did Ling Feng return to Chen Ping’s side and yelled loudly, "Leader, such a small matter, and you came here in person?"

"Nonsense, could I not come? The higher-ups have called, saying that a magnitude five earthquake occurred right here, at the surface!"

Chen Ping shouted a few times, then turned and walked towards the entrance of the cave.

When the two got closer, the helicopter had also arrived right above the cave entrance.

The swirling thick smoke was immediately dispersed by the powerful winds generated by the propellers. Zhang He then understood Ling Feng’s intention and praised, "Good job, kid, you really got brains to think of that!"

"I was just thinking that if a strong wind came it could blow away the smoke, and then Director Chen sent a helicopter my way!" Ling Feng said with a smile.

"Don’t celebrate too early, there’s not much fuel in this helicopter, at most five minutes of blow time!" Chen Ping said.

"That’s enough!"

As soon as Ling Feng said those words, he stood at the entrance, watching the helicopter descend slowly, blowing the thick smoke into chaotic flight, and it soon arrived right above at the mouth of the cave.

No matter how dense the smoke, it’s as light as nothing, easily swept away by the strong wind, and much of it was dispersed instantly.

The entrance was large, but as the thick smoke cleared, Ling Feng saw that the actual size below wasn’t that big, with a depth of only about seven or eight meters.

Because the smoke kept forming, the objects below appeared and disappeared intermittently, not very clear; Ling Feng could only see a huge black object but couldn’t discern what it was.

Just as he was getting anxious, during a moment when the smoke thinned, with a ’Whoosh,’ a flame shot up instantly!

The black and yellow smoke was ignited immediately. Ling Feng shouted alarmingly and turned to rescue others.

But when he looked, he saw Zhang He clutching Chen Ping, with Sun Hao dragging Yu Nan, and the four had already dashed dozens of meters away!

Ling Feng’s heart relaxed, he hurriedly rushed over, and in an instant, he surpassed them.

"Boom!"

A burst of intense flames erupted from the bottom of the pit, instantly turning into a giant fireball.

The helicopter was originally about ten meters above the entrance, but an extremely strong shockwave sent it flying askew, smashing toward the mountainside!

Fortunately, it was only a shockwave; the aircraft wasn’t damaged. The experienced pilot immediately adjusted the aircraft’s posture in mid-air. Just as it was about to hit the mountainside, the helicopter turned around and flew back.

"Good thing I reacted quickly!"

Zhang He looked apprehensive, and as he saw the flames roaring out of the hole, he let out a sigh of relief.

"Boss, damn it, why can’t I see the boss?"

Sun Hao glanced around the pit entrance without spotting Ling Feng, and immediately shouted in alarm.

However, Ling Feng said from behind him, "Don’t panic, I’m right here!"

"Huh?"

When Sun Hao turned around and saw him, he was momentarily stunned, "Boss, when did you get behind me? You were clearly over there just now?"

Ling Feng gave him a look, "You think you’re the only one who’s fast? I just overtook you, okay!"

"Heh heh, no wonder, you’re awesome, boss!" Sun Hao snickered and raised his thumb.

Ling Feng didn’t pay attention to his flattery and looked up at the pit entrance as flames blazed skyward, his face speechless.

Unexpectedly, the smoke turned out to be a flammable gas!

There was definitely an open fire at the bottom of the cave, it was just that the smoke was too dense and there wasn’t enough oxygen to fuel it. The result was that the helicopter, like a giant bellows, had provided ample oxygen, which then triggered the deflagration!

Ling Feng looked up at the helicopter circling above, it hovered for two rounds before flying back toward the county town. Ling Feng thought to himself that he would have to apologize to that pilot brother later.

The scene just now was too perilous. Had it been a less experienced pilot, the helicopter might have crashed and resulted in fatalities, right?

With a trace of fear, Ling Feng stepped forward, wanting to see what was in that pit.

He had 20 meters to go when a blast of hot air hit him, making him squint instantly!

The temperature was very high!

After another ten meters, Ling Feng’s clothes began to curl.

If he moved any closer, his hair and eyebrows were likely to catch fire.

Unable to withstand the high temperature, Ling Feng had no choice but to give up and return to Chen Ping and the others.

But they paid no attention to Ling Feng; they were all huddled together, heads down, looking at Chen Ping’s cellphone.

Ling Feng stepped up for a closer look and discovered that the screen displayed a photo, taken from the helicopter as it hovered in the sky.

"What is this thing?"

Chen Ping lifted his head with a clueless expression and asked.

Ling Feng took the cellphone and examined it carefully. Through the pale red flames, there was a huge black object at the bottom of the pit. Although it was ignited, the outline was still discernible, with limbs, a head—it was clearly a gigantic creature!

Estimating the area of the hole and comparing it to the immense creature, the thing was over ten meters long and about five to six meters tall!

Ling Feng, looking astonished, said, "How can there be such a large animal? Aren’t elephants the biggest on our Earth?"

"Boss, the largest are whales!" Sun Hao reminded him.

"Nonsense, aren’t those in the sea? I’m talking about land!" Ling Feng shot him a glance.

That was when Zhang He spoke up, "It fell from the sky. Who says it has to be an animal from Earth?"

"True, could it be an extraterrestrial visitor?"

Ling Feng lifted his head to look at the blue sky; apart from the white clouds, he couldn’t see anything else.

"How long will this fire burn? If it keeps burning like this, any retrievable item will just turn to ashes, right?" Chen Ping asked at that moment.

"Even if it turns to ashes, there’s nothing we can do. There are no roads in the mountains; fire trucks can’t make it here. We have no other way to put out the fire!" Ling Feng shrugged his shoulders and said helplessly.

"The flames are semi-transparent, which means the temperature must be extremely high, and that thing seems to be highly flammable!" Zhang He speculated.

Ling Feng nodded in agreement: "It is strange indeed, the object fell from the sky without it burning, yet it caught fire after it landed."

"Maybe it had some kind of protective layer? When the Transformers descended to Earth, didn’t they come encased in a rocky shell to avoid the friction of the atmosphere?" Sun Hao mentioned.

Ling Feng looked at him: "I didn’t expect you to be a movie buff."

"Hehe, I’ve seen a few when I had nothing else to do!" Sun Hao said with an embarrassed laugh.

"It’s a pity there were no witnesses; otherwise, we could figure out what happened."

After saying this, Ling Feng turned his head to look at Chen Ping: "Boss, you’re in charge here. What do we do next?"

"What else can we do but wait?"

After saying that, Chen Ping looked down, found a relatively flat stone, walked over, and sat down on it.
