At noon, Long Xiaoyu and the others returned.

Seeing the girls carrying bags of items, Ling Feng smiled and asked, "Another shopping spree, huh? What good things did you buy?"

"Nothing good for you!"

Long Xiaoyu gave him a sidelong glance, clearly holding a grudge about Ling Feng not coming home last night, seemingly sulking.

Ling Feng knew she had a childlike temperament, and being upset was just a way to act coquettishly, a little coaxing would do.

However, with Mu Yuhan and Lina present, he couldn’t just do that.

So he didn’t mind, smiled, and looked at what everyone had bought, mostly clothes and cosmetics — gifts for the girls, as expected.

Ling Feng didn’t look much further, sat down and watched the girls tidy up, then asked, "Lina, is the schedule for tomorrow’s competition arranged?"

"It’s already arranged."

Lina nodded and continued, "Ling Feng, your team has seventeen people participating and they can all compete tomorrow!"

"Alright, good!"

Ling Feng nodded, thinking to himself: It’s time to showcase our strength, hope everyone performs well tomorrow and shocks the world!

The abilities of the fifteen trainees weren’t a concern, Chu Xing and Fu Hao were his main focus; as long as these two showed their true capabilities, it would surely be enough.

After the girls finished tidying up, Long Xiaoyu looked at Ling Feng and asked, "Are you hungry? Do you want to have lunch together?"

"Sure, I’ll ask Catherine if she’s free!" Ling Feng said.

As he mentioned her name, Long Xiaoyu rolled her eyes dramatically but said nothing.

Ling Feng took out his phone to call, but the other party’s line was busy, so he gave up.

But just minutes later, there was a sound at the door, and Catherine walked right in.

Seeing her, Ling Feng stood up and asked, "How is it? Did you find out anything?"

Catherine shook her head, giving a wry smile, "No, I just know the Roth Family’s top members are furious and flew here overnight, but what exactly happened is still unknown."

"Really? Who came then?" Ling Feng asked in surprise.

"A key member of the Roth Family, someone named Jack Ross. You might not have heard his name, but he’s a person of significant influence, said to be the top candidate to lead the whole family in the future," Catherine said.

Ling Feng responded thoughtfully, "So, they really are taking this seriously!"

"What are you guys talking about? I don’t understand," Long Xiaoyu asked.

"It’s a long story."

Ling Feng smiled and then said, "Something happened last night, a Roth Family drug manufacturing plant was destroyed, costing them some money."

After briefly explaining the situation, Long Xiaoyu and Mu Yuhan seemed quite surprised, as to them, such a thing shouldn’t cause such a big fuss.

So Mu Yuhan asked, "Ling Feng, did they lose something more important?"

"That’s what I think too, but I don’t know what it is!" Ling Feng nodded.

Everyone seemed puzzled, but then Lina suddenly said, "I think I might know what it is."

Ling Feng was taken aback, turned to look at her: "How do you know?"

"I have a colleague whose boyfriend is also an external member of the Roth Family. Some time ago we had dinner together, and he proudly mentioned something," Lina said.

"What was it?"

Everyone’s interest was piqued, and they all looked at her.

Lina gave a shy smile, then said, "He didn’t say it straight out, just told us he was involved in an important project for the Roth Family and would receive great rewards once it was completed!"

Ling Feng looked at her, "Is that all?"

"Yes!"

Lina nodded, "I was curious at that time and wanted to ask more, but he just shook his head and didn’t say anything, telling me I’d find out in due course."

"Alright."

"Who says so?"

Catherine glanced at him, then turned to Lina, "Can you still contact that person?"

"I don’t have his contact information, but it wouldn’t be hard to find him, I just need to call my colleague," Lina said.

"No rush, don’t hurry to call yet."

Catherine bit her lip, pondering for a moment, "Why don’t you call your colleague anyway, see how she’s feeling right now."

"Okay."

Lina thought about it, then turned around to make a call.

Ling Feng also understood Catherine’s intent; if Lina’s colleague was in a bad mood, it would mean that man was also at the factory last night, and he might already be dead.

And if she seemed fine, it meant he was okay, and they could find him later, possibly getting a breakthrough from him.

After a while, Lina hung up and came back to tell everyone, "She’s fine because tomorrow’s competition will be very busy, so she took half a day off today to rest at home!"

Knowing what everyone was most concerned about, she added, "I could hear her boyfriend’s voice during the call, which means he’s home too!"

Ling Feng perked up, looking at Catherine and asking, "Shall we go check it out?"

"Sure!"

Catherine nodded, then said, "But don’t get your hopes too high, let’s discuss on the way!"

"Got it, try not to alert them and don’t expose ourselves either!"

Ling Feng smiled, then said to Long Xiaoyu and the others, "You all stay at the hotel, Catherine and I will handle this!"

"I want to go too!" Long Xiaoyu pouted.

"Be good, you stay here to support and protect Yuhan and Lina!" Ling Feng said.

Long Xiaoyu wasn’t happy about it and squirmed, "Isn’t Chu Xing and Fu Hao next door, why should I stay?"

"Exactly, with those two around, what could happen to Yuhan and Lina, not to mention we have fifteen trainees!"

Catherine said, warmly taking Long Xiaoyu’s hand, "Come on, let’s go together!"

With that, Ling Feng had no choice but to nod, and then told Mu Yuhan, "We’re heading out, you and Lina don’t wander around."

"Okay, I understand."

Mu Yuhan felt a bit down but still smiled and nodded.

She had strived for a chance to come to America with Ling Feng, hoping to spend more time with him, but since arriving here, things kept happening, leaving them with little time to truly connect!

Ling Feng and the others took the address Lina gave, assured not to harm her colleague, and all went downstairs to the car.

Then Catherine drove, arriving at the place twenty minutes later.
