Zhou Yi stared intently at Ling Feng. When he finally reached her, she said, "You really don’t want to leave? I thought you’d be thrilled."

"Not at all?"

But after a passionate moment, she pushed away from Ling Feng’s embrace. "Okay, enough! How are things going with your issue?"

Ling Feng wasn’t in a hurry; after all, they had the whole night. He took her hand and sat down, recounting his findings.

"I sent someone to the provincial capital to investigate them, and we just got word that both are dead!" Gu Li reported.

"From what we know, they likely died from carbon monoxide poisoning, sitting in a running car all night, but we can’t rule out murder either," Gu Li explained.

"Murder them? Did they have enemies?" Ling Feng asked.

Ling Feng understood quickly, asking, "You think this was aimed at me?"

"Feels like it, but I’m not sure," Gu Li replied.

"Where are your people?" Ling Feng inquired.

"Still at the scene, but the police are arriving soon, so they’ll have to leave," Gu Li said.

"Got it, this complicates things. Let’s see if anything else surfaces!"

Ling Feng hung up, seeing Zhou Yi looking at him. He said with a wry smile, "Looks like I can’t leave now!"

"Maybe it’s just an accident. I don’t think anyone is targeting you," Zhou Yi said.

"I can’t figure it out either, but I have a feeling I’m indeed the target!"

Ling Feng laughed, shrugging his shoulders, "And the person’s methods are quite clever. They might have been planning since the apple cider incident!"

Zhou Yi thought for a moment, "Do you want me to stay and help you?"

"No need, things are unclear, and we don’t know what’s going on yet. You handle your work," Ling Feng smiled.
