Chapter 1577 - 1576: Experiment
"Zhou Hao, don’t talk nonsense!"
Jin Jingyu, who had been watching quietly, stood up and continued, "Mr. Wu is from the Huaxia Academy of Sciences, and Miss Mu here is an expert from the Nuclear Physics Research Institute!"
"Huh?"
Zhou Hao was dumbfounded, his face instantly turning as red as a monkey’s bottom!
He realized he had embarrassed himself, not only getting metaphorically slapped by Ling Feng but also asking an extremely immature question.
After a moment of silence, knowing he couldn’t regain face, Zhou Hao said nothing and turned to leave!
"Everyone, my nephew hasn’t seen much of the world, sorry for the disturbance!" Jin Jingyu said.
"No problem, old Jin, why didn’t you tell me earlier that Mr. Ling was here? I would have come sooner!" Wu Xiaomin replied.
Jin Jingyu sighed with a bit of helplessness and said, "I didn’t know either about Mr. Ling’s identity; he’s a guest invited by my brother!"
The muscles on Ling Feng’s face twitched, as if a cawing crow crossed his mind!
So, Jin Chen is a brother at home?
Doesn’t that mean his mother is Fujin?
Wonder if old Jin has a daughter, if he does, she ought to be called Gege, right?
No one else.
Having learned about Ling Feng’s identity, Jin Jingyu’s attitude towards him changed instantly; he was almost indifferent before, but now he’s extremely enthusiastic.
Once everyone sat down, Jin Jingyu immediately said, "With all of you here at my home today, my ancestors’ faces must be glowing with pride; please wait a moment!"
After speaking, he got up and headed to the back.
Ling Feng was puzzled, looking at Wu Xiaomin in confusion.
"That’s just old Jin; he’s probably gone back to bow to his ancestors again!" Wu Xiaomin laughed.
Mu Wensheng added, "Jin always has this quirk, although he’s great everywhere else!"
Ling Feng was speechless, yet curious, so he scanned the area with Divine Sense.
He saw that Jin Jingyu indeed entered a room resembling a shrine, with the entire wall covered in Qing Dynasty emperor portraits, and the old man was kneeling and bowing!
"This man is practically on par with Prince Longyu!" Ling Feng thought to himself.
Considering this, he suddenly felt stirred and asked, "Dean Wu, is Jin truly of royal lineage?"
"Uh, probably? That’s what old Jin claims anyway." Wu Xiaomin replied with an awkward smile.
Ling Feng nodded, realizing Longyu, originally named Hu Tiesheng, was Han Chinese and likely unrelated to the Jin family.
But if there is a connection, things would be complicated.
Still, he dismissed the thought, as Hu Tiesheng was already dead and pursuing this matter further had no avenues; judging by Jin’s current status, it wouldn’t stir up any trouble.
Later, the banquet started, and many people recognized Ling Feng, turning him into the party’s focal point.
Having dealt with everyone, Ling Feng quietly said to Chen Yuhe, "Knowing this, I really shouldn’t have come here!"
Chen Yuhe understood his feelings, chuckled, and said, "Don’t forget you’re here to accompany me; it’s part of the job too."
Ling Feng smiled wryly, "Alright."
After the banquet, he accepted Wu Xiaomin and Mu Yuhan’s invitation to visit the institute the next day, then took Jin Chen’s car back to the hotel.
Upon returning to the room, Chen Yuhe suddenly asked, "Did you notice anything strange about someone at the banquet today?"
"You mean Jin Chen?" Ling Feng inquired.
"Yeah, what did you feel?" Chen Yuhe asked.
Ling Feng chuckled, "Nothing much, since the first time we met him, I always felt he had a gloomy demeanor, but maybe that’s just his personality?"
"Perhaps, though I can’t shake the feeling there’s something special about him; he’s not very talkative, and his looks are quite odd!" Chen Yuhe remarked.
Ling Feng smiled and embraced her, "I don’t care about anything else, as long as someone looks at you with lustful eyes, that’s unacceptable!"
"You!"
Chen Yuhe tapped Ling Feng’s forehead, then freed herself from his embrace, "Alright, I’m going to take a bath!"
"Together?"
Ling Feng chuckled mischievously, squeezed his way into the bathroom with her.
Chen Yuhe wore a helpless expression, unable to push him away, yielded to him.
...
...
After another night of romance, they were up by seven the next morning.
After washing up and having breakfast, the two headed downstairs.
The car sent by the institute was already waiting, showing Wu Xiaomin’s respect for Ling Feng, having heard they had no vehicle in the Capital City, he specially sent one over.
At eight in the morning, the car arrived at the institute.
There were two extra guards at the entrance kiosk, indicating security had been heightened, stricter than before.
Getting off the car, they headed straight to the office, where Wu Xiaomin and Mu Yuhan were already waiting.
Ling Feng had become a VIP here, everyone he encountered in the lab greeted him warmly.
After all, this technological revolution relied on the materials he provided.
Yet Ling Feng didn’t feel arrogant about it; he simply wasn’t that type of person.
After touring the place and not seeing the machine Mu Yuhan mentioned, Ling Feng asked, "Where’s the fusion device?"
"It’s in the basement; next, we’re heading there to check it out!" Mu Yuhan said.
Ling Feng nodded, smiled, "Alright, I’d like to see it!"
The group went downstairs, passing through multiple security checks to enter a massive underground space.
A circle of observation rooms surrounded the area, with a machine similar in size to an airplane engine at the center, various staff members busy at work.
Contrary to Ling Feng’s sci-fi expectations, the machine seemed complex, quite rough, possessing a post-modern industrial vibe.
"When does the experiment start?" Ling Feng asked.
Mu Yuhan laughed and said, "Originally set for a few days later, but Dean Wu said since you’re here, we should test it today!"
"Oh, am I getting special treatment?" Ling Feng chuckled.
"Consider it a special exception, just for you alone!" Mu Yuhan laughed.
With prior notice, minutes later, the staff vacated, and preparations commenced for the trial.
Everyone stood by the observation window, watching the machine’s dials begin to flash.
Mu Yuhan quietly explained the experiment process, Ling Feng listened attentively and watched closely, eager to see the miraculous reactions it might produce.
But unexpectedly, as nuclear fusion began, he suddenly sensed something unusual!
It wasn’t a sensation derived from the five senses but rather a peculiar feeling from within his body’s every nerve and cell!
In the ensuing experiments, Ling Feng didn’t have time to pay attention.
His focus was entirely centered on his own body!
Finally, when cheers erupted around him, Ling Feng snapped back to reality, and seeing Mu Yuhan’s excited expression, he asked, "Was the experiment successful?"
