Chapter 1575 - 1574: Banquet

The sun rose, and sunlight flooded the large bed in the room, waking Ling Feng and Chen Yuhe up.

He pulled down a layer of thin gauze to make the sunlight less glaring. Ling Feng glanced at Chen Yuhe, whose chest was half-exposed, and asked with a grin, "Any plans for today?"

"None, I’ll listen to you," Chen Yuhe said with a yawn.

"If you listen to me, then let’s not go anywhere and just stay in bed all day!" Ling Feng laughed.

"Better not!"

Chen Yuhe showed a frightened expression and quickly got up.

Knowing she was pretending, Ling Feng laughed heartily and then began to get dressed himself.

After both finished washing up, they realized it was already 10 a.m., so they decided to skip breakfast and wait for lunch instead.

In the meantime, Chen Yuhe opened her phone to start researching lunch options, while Ling Feng sat beside her, also opening his phone.

Not receiving a single call since yesterday felt a bit strange.

Looking at his contacts, Ling Feng thought about it and decided to leave it be. No calls meant no problems, which was better.

"The Capital City’s roast duck is famous. Do you want to try it?" Chen Yuhe asked.

"Is that better than what we farmed ourselves?" Ling Feng responded.

"Good point,"

Chen Yuhe nodded, then asked, "How about braised intestines? I hear it’s also quite famous!"

Ling Feng chuckled, "I’m fine with anything. It’s mainly about what you want to eat."

"I’m good with anything as long as I’m with you!" Chen Yuhe replied with a smile.

"Let me think about it then!"

Ling Feng sighed and pondered for a moment before saying, "Isn’t there a party tonight? Let’s not eat anything too greasy for lunch; maybe just grab something light at the restaurant!"

"Oh right, I almost forgot!"

Chen Yuhe widened her eyes, remembering she promised Jin Chen to attend his party yesterday.

So she nodded, "Alright, let’s just eat at the hotel."

"Okay, after eating, let’s find a makeup artist to doll you up nicely, and wear the dress you bought yesterday. You’ll definitely steal the show!" Ling Feng suggested.

"No need, really, it doesn’t matter," Chen Yuhe said.

Ling Feng smirked, "Who says it doesn’t matter? If you’re dressed beautifully, it also makes me look good, doesn’t it?"

Then he struck a speculative pose, "At that time, all the other men will envy me for having such a beautiful girlfriend!"

"You narcissist!"

Chen Yuhe playfully smacked him, and she couldn’t hold back her laughter.

They handled lunch at the hotel restaurant and didn’t go out afterward, heading straight back to their room.

No makeup artist was called because Chen Yuhe was naturally beautiful and didn’t need makeup to enhance her looks. Going barefaced was more than enough.

However, she did take Ling Feng’s advice and wore the dress.

By 6 p.m., the two of them left and caught a taxi downstairs.

The Capital City is huge, prone to traffic jams, and Jin Chen’s party was in the suburbs, so they had to leave a bit early to avoid any delays.

When they arrived, it was already 6:50.

This area was a villa district with large properties, and houses weren’t close together, with distances over fifty meters apart.

The environment signaled that residents here had to have fortunes in the millions or hundreds of millions.

The lawn in front of Jin Chen’s home already had quite a few people. Since the weather was a bit chilly, a large glass greenhouse had been set up, with unobstructed views.

It was clear the greenhouse had heating because as soon as night fell, one couldn’t stay outside for very long otherwise.

The taxi stopped, and Ling Feng and Chen Yuhe, arm in arm, entered the greenhouse.

Their appearance immediately drew the crowd’s attention. Just as Ling Feng expected, many men were mesmerized by Chen Yuhe, and then looked at him with curious envy.

Jin Chen, busy entertaining guests, quickly came over upon seeing Ling Feng and Chen Yuhe, "Mr. Ling, Miss Chen, welcome!"

"Sorry to intrude!"

Ling Feng chuckled, handing over the gift they brought—a bottle of red wine.

"Mr. Jin, who are these two?"

While Jin Chen was greeting Ling Feng, a man in a white suit approached with a smile and asked.

"Don’t you recognize Mr. Ling? This is Ling Feng!" Jin Chen said.

The man in the suit was taken aback, then shook his head, and looked at Ling Feng, "What line of work are you in, Mr. Ling?"

"A bit of everything, just dabbling."

Even though the man seemed to be addressing Ling Feng, his eyes were fixated on Chen Yuhe, which displeased Ling Feng, so he responded with a blank expression.

"Oh, Miss Chen, have we met somewhere before?" The man in the suit seemed not to have heard Ling Feng’s words and continued to focus on Chen Yuhe.

"Sorry, I don’t come to the Capital often, and you don’t seem familiar to me, so I don’t think we’ve met," Chen Yuhe replied.

"Is that so? Well, now we know each other. I’m Zhou Hao, and what’s your name, Miss Chen?" The man smiled.

"Chen Yuhe."

Zhou Hao’s eyes lit up, "Nice name, a lotus in the rain, a fresh lotus blossom!"

"Thank you!"

Chen Yuhe smiled slightly and then turned to Ling Feng, "Shall we go inside?"

"Yes, yes, Mr. Mu and others are inside the villa, please follow me!"

Jin Chen said and then glanced at Zhou Hao before leading them to the villa.

Zhou Hao remained still, watching Ling Feng and Chen Yuhe leave with narrowed eyes.

Upon entering the villa, seeing the opulent decorations, Ling Feng couldn’t help but smile.

Just like that club, it was lavish and grand; the outside appeared modern, but inside, it felt like being in the Imperial Palace!

"What a strong obsession," Ling Feng thought to himself.

There were only two people in the living room, one was Mu Wensheng, and the other was a man in his sixties.

This man wore a yellow robe and had a unique hairstyle, still maintaining the Qing Dynasty attire, which made it look like he hadn’t removed his costume yet!

After Jin Chen’s introduction, Ling Feng discovered that this old man was his father, named Jin Jingyu.

This old man believed himself to be a Qing Dynasty descendant, living life by the early Imperial rules.

Ling Feng was speechless, but had to maintain a polite smile, feeling quite helpless.

He almost regretted coming; had he known, he might have found an excuse not to attend!

But now that he was here, he could only stay, despite his reluctance.

Right after they exchanged pleasantries, Zhou Hao also entered the room.

His eyes continued roving shamelessly over Chen Yuhe, extremely disrespectful!

Seeing this, Ling Feng furrowed his brow slightly, then asked, "Mr. Zhou, could I know which industry you’re in?"
