Chapter 1165: Han Chang
Chapter 1165: Han Chang
Ling Feng went all in. Now, it was the fat man’s turn to decide whether to call or fold.
Although he claimed that Ling Feng’s move wouldn’t scare him, he didn’t call immediately. Instead, he stared into Ling Feng’s eyes, pondering for a while.
After all, he was a seasoned gambler. The fat man wasn’t arrogant enough to assume Ling Feng, being a novice, was just bluffing.
Without a cool head, he would have gone bankrupt long ago.
He glanced at his hole cards again. Including the community cards, he only had three Nines. As for what Ling Feng held, the fat man still couldn’t figure it out.
A minute passed. Then another.
The fat man still hadn’t made a decision. Ling Feng frowned slightly, then glanced at the long-faced man beside him. "Can he stall for this long?"
"There’s a time limit, but he can use the extension feature to think a bit longer," the long-faced man explained.
Ling Feng let out an "Oh," and nodded. "Alright then."
At this moment, the fat man’s thinking time ran out. The dealer reminded him he had to either call or fold.
After a brief hesitation, the fat man took a deep breath and pushed all his chips forward!
Everyone around, including the long-faced man, gasped audibly!
Someone couldn’t help but ask the fat man, "What’s gotten into you? You’re actually challenging a rookie!"
"Because my hand is big enough!"
The fat man responded and revealed the pair of Nines in his hand!
Ling Feng froze for a moment, muttering to himself, "Revealing now?"
"There are only two of you left at the table, and both of you went all in. So yeah, you can reveal your cards now," the long-faced man explained.
"Alright then."
Ling Feng nodded and flipped over his hole cards.
Everyone took a look and was instantly speechless.
Before the fifth card was even dealt, Ling Feng had already won.
For the fat man, the odds of the final card saving him were a dismal 5%.
The fat man stared, dumbfounded, muttering to himself, "How is this possible?"
Aside from a Nine, there was no card that could help him beat Ling Feng.
Because Ling Feng had an Ace in his hand. Even if the fifth card was an Eight, the fat man’s straight wouldn’t beat Ling Feng’s!
A comeback wasn’t entirely out of the question. Even a 1% chance could occur. So now, all eyes were on the dealer’s hand to see if the fifth card might be a Nine!
The result? When the dealer flipped over the fifth card, everyone fell silent.
It was an inconsequential Two of Hearts!
Ling Feng had won.
Including the pot, he had made 5.15 million in this hand.
A stack of chips was piled before him. Ling Feng glanced at the fat man and noticed that he only had just over 1 million left. This hand had hit him hard!
The fat man’s expression didn’t look great either. He had initially thought Ling Feng was an easy prey, someone there to donate money. Unexpectedly, before he had taken any of Ling Feng’s money, he had lost over 5 million himself!
Staring at the pile of chips in front of him, Ling Feng found what had been a dull game earlier to now be somewhat entertaining. He turned to the long-faced man and asked, "May I ask your name?"
"My last name is Pu. If you don’t mind, you can call me Brother Pu!" The long-faced man smiled.
"Alright, thank you, Brother Pu!" Ling Feng said with a smile.
Pu Fuwan looked at Ling Feng with some suspicion and asked, "Are you really playing poker for the first time?"
He felt that what had just happened seemed very much like Ling Feng pretending to be weak while actually being strong—definitely not the actions of a novice, but rather, a seasoned gambler!
But Ling Feng simply smiled and said, "I really am. I just got lucky earlier, and I didn’t have much pressure. I figured the five million I brought with me would just be gone, so I could just play casually!"
"Oh, then you’re indeed quite lucky!"
Pu Fuwan nodded and said.
The game continued after that. Although Ling Feng had stated he was a beginner, no one dared to treat him as one anymore. Everyone was very cautious when betting.
As a result, after more than an hour and several rounds, the largest bets at the table were only a few hundred thousand per hand.
All that money ended up in Ling Feng’s pocket. By now, the amount Ling Feng had won exceeded 7 million.
However, Ling Feng started to feel bored again. He thought to himself that at this rate, even if he played all night, he would only win a bit over 10 million. How tedious!
Thinking about the beauty waiting for him upstairs, Ling Feng started to grow restless.
Just then, a gambler walked into the casino hall flanked by several bodyguards.
Noticing everyone looking in that direction, Ling Feng also turned to glance.
A middle-aged Eastern man with a hefty belly strolled over.
Pu Fuwan stood up and greeted him with a smile. "Old Han, why are you so late?"
"I was tied up with some business dealings!"
Han Chang smiled and walked over, asking, "How’s the game tonight?"
"Not great. This youngster here cleaned us all out!" Pu Fuwan chuckled.
"Oh?"
Han Chang glanced at Ling Feng twice, then narrowed his eyes slightly.
Seeing him look at him like this, Ling Feng felt a bit puzzled, sensing that this man might know him.
But Han Chang said nothing. He simply stared at Ling Feng intently, as if gauging him.
Then Han Chang shifted his attention to the table and asked, "No seats left?"
"Here, you can take my spot. This young man is on a roll tonight—let’s see if your luck can beat his!" Pu Fuwan said with a grin.
"Alright!"
Han Chang didn’t bother with any formalities and took the seat directly.
He glanced at the table and frowned slightly. "The blind is only a thousand? That’s way too low."
Looking up, Han Chang glanced around at everyone before suggesting, "How about raising the blind to ten thousand?"
"...."
Everyone froze at his words. Raising the blind a hundredfold—this was a gamble on a whole new level.
Keep in mind, the most anyone at the table had in chips was around ten million. With blinds raised this high, every hand would involve at least a few hundred thousand in wagers, potentially even millions!
What others thought wasn’t Ling Feng’s concern. Hearing Han Chang propose raising the blind, he was thrilled!
He thought to himself, "Aren’t you just here to hand me money? Lucky I didn’t leave early. Wherever this rich fool came from, since you’re offering me your cash, how can I not take it?"
So he was the first to nod. "Sure, I’ve got no objections!"
"I’m fine with it too!" said one gambler.
"I agree as well. Now *this* is exciting, isn’t it?" another gambler added.
In the end, six gamblers, including Ling Feng and Han Chang, agreed to increase the blind. The game resumed.
...
...
By the time the sky lightened, Ling Feng arrived at the room on the top floor.
He opened the door with his room card. As soon as he sat down in the living room, the bedroom door creaked open, and Yu Linglong stepped out barefoot.
"Did I wake you?" Ling Feng asked with a smile.
"No, I’ve been awake for a while."
Yu Linglong sat down and responded calmly.
Seeing that she didn’t say anything else, Ling Feng asked, "What’s the matter? Aren’t you even curious about how much I raked in last night?"
