Chapter 1164: The Extravagant Gamble

Chapter 1164: The Extravagant Gamble

Seeing the two men smiling, Ling Feng also smiled and said, "Yes, and you guys are too?"

The two men simultaneously shook their heads, "Not really."

One of them, an older, long-faced man, said, "I’m Chinese, but my nationality is Tailan Country now."

"I hold American nationality!" the younger man said.

Ling Feng let out an "Oh" and then greeted them anyway, "Nice to meet you!"

The dealer was already waiting, and seeing the three finish their small talk, he immediately asked, "Sir, would you like to make your bet now?"

"Sure!"

Ling Feng nodded and tossed out a one-million chip!

But instead of shocking the crowd, it caused a burst of laughter!

Fortunately, the gamblers at this table were all polite. Their smiles weren’t mocking him but more of a kind-hearted reaction to a rookie’s rash behavior.

The long-faced man then chuckled and said, "Young man, that’s not the right way to bet. You have to start with the blind bets first!"

"Oh, it’s my first time playing, so I’m not too familiar with the rules."

Ling Feng laughed, thinking to himself that he vaguely remembered reading about the rules but found the numbers too messy and convoluted, so he skipped them.

After saying that, he threw the one-million chip to the dealer, "Can you exchange this for some smaller chips for me?"

"No problem!"

The gamblers at the table were exchanging glances, guessing that this young man might be a rich kid from the Mainland, not short on money, and had come to the VIP lounge purely for fun!

So, they turned their eyes toward the five chips in his hand, already scheming how to turn his money into theirs!

After exchanging some smaller chips, Ling Feng said to the dealer, "I’m not too familiar with this; please remind me when it’s my turn to act!"

"Got it!" the dealer nodded.

The long-faced man sitting beside him also said, "No problem. We’re sitting next to each other, so I’ll remind you when it’s your turn to bet!"

"Thank you!"

Ling Feng saw his sincere expression and nodded back in appreciation.

The game began quickly, and two cards were dealt to everyone at the table.

Recalling the rules, Ling Feng understood that he had two cards in hand, and later three community cards would be dealt on the table, allowing everyone to combine their cards with those on the board to determine if they had the strongest hand at the table.

Then, two more community cards would be dealt, making seven cards in total, out of which the best five could form the strongest hand to claim the pot.

This style of play relied heavily on psychology—tricking other players. When holding good cards, one would try to make opponents believe their cards were bad and push for higher bets, ultimately winning big when the showdown occurred.

On the flip side, with bad cards, one would try to scare opponents into thinking they had a killer hand, making them fold and claiming the pot without much effort.

Ling Feng wasn’t particularly skilled at this sort of thing. He simply relied on his Divine Sense to instantly know what all the cards on the table were and base his bets accordingly.

As soon as the cards were dealt, he didn’t even need to look—he already knew he had the Ace of Diamonds and the Ten of Spades.

The other gamblers inspected their cards, and one chubby white man said something to Ling Feng.

Ling Feng didn’t understand, so he looked helplessly at the long-faced man beside him.

"The fat guy said he’s already reserved your chips," the long-faced man translated.

"Thanks, then please tell him not to daydream!" Ling Feng replied.

The long-faced man burst into laughter at his words, turning to relay them to the white man.

The table erupted in laughter, but Ling Feng didn’t understand any of it. So, he simply ignored them.

All he knew was that the fat man’s hole cards were two Nines, which weren’t bigger than his!

After everyone finished reviewing their hands, betting began. Small blind was a thousand, big blind was two thousand, and Ling Feng tossed a thousand-chip into the pot.

There were seven people at the table, and the pot now totaled eight thousand.

Then, the first three community cards were dealt—just as Ling Feng had predicted, a Nine, a Jack, and a Queen.

With his Ten and Ace, he was already close to a straight. If the next two community cards included either an Eight or a King, Ling Feng would win.

But it wasn’t absolute; the fat man had already made trips with three Nines. If the next card was another Nine, Ling Feng would lose.

This game’s charm was precisely in such suspense—until the final card was turned, no one could guarantee a win!

However, Ling Feng’s Divine Sense left him with no suspense. Even though the cards were tucked away in the deck box, he could see the next ones through tiny slits in the stack!

As someone began raising, Ling Feng chuckled inwardly, "Alright, let’s start dominating from this hand onward!"

The fat man’s turn came, and he looked at Ling Feng with a bit of provocation before pushing forward a stack of chips.

Ling Feng glanced over—roughly ten thousand—then smirked, "You think that’s enough to scare me?"

The long-faced man gave Ling Feng a glance without saying anything, then folded his cards and handed them to the dealer, opting out.

Four players remained, all choosing to follow the fat man’s bet.

Now, the pot had grown to nearly fifty thousand.

But Ling Feng felt a little bored—this pace wouldn’t lead to big winnings! How long would this take?

The fourth community card was dealt—a King!

Seeing this card, the fat man immediately said something to Ling Feng.

"Sorry, I don’t understand whatever you’re saying. If you want me to get it, just speak Huaxia!" Ling Feng glared at him.

The long-faced man stepped in to translate, "He said he’s got the card he wanted, so if you’re not afraid, go ahead and follow!"

"Oh, alright!"

Ling Feng smiled, thinking to himself, "I’ve already made the highest straight. You’ve only got trips with three Nines; who do you think you’re scaring?"

Everyone else checked, and when it came to the fat man’s turn, he pushed in ten thousand in chips again!

The middle players folded, leaving Ling Feng to decide whether to follow or raise.

Looking at the mountain of colorful chips on the fat man’s side, which seemed to total a few million, Ling Feng shook his head, "This is too slow and boring. Forget it, I’m going all in!"

With that, he pushed all his chips forward!

The table went silent instantly—everyone was stunned!

Even in the VIP lounge, where gamblers were seasoned veterans with years of experience, no one had anticipated Ling Feng to be this bold!

In their eyes, either this kid was ridiculously wealthy and didn’t care about losing a few million.

Or he was just insanely audacious.

Going all-in before the final card was even revealed? That was a blatant challenge!

Everyone’s gaze turned to the fat man, eager to see how he would respond.

The fat man looked visibly speechless, glancing seriously at Ling Feng, then at his own hole cards, before uttering something.

The long-faced man translated, "He said your move isn’t going to scare him one bit!"

"Oh, then call the bet," Ling Feng said with a grin.
