Chapter 1161: Buying Clothes
Chapter 1161: Buying Clothes
After entering, Zheng Yitong was momentarily stunned upon seeing Yu Linglong next to Ling Feng!
It wasn’t for any other reason, but because of that impossibly beautiful face, so ethereal it seemed untouched by the Mortal World. Such a stunning woman— she had never seen anyone like her before!
A girl with such exquisite features usually only appeared on heavily enhanced digital screens; seeing someone like that in real life was almost impossible!
Ling Feng was already used to the astonishment people felt when they saw Yu Linglong. While secretly savoring their reactions, he quickly introduced her to Zheng Yitong.
Afterward, everyone sat down.
During lunch, Zheng Yitong couldn’t hold back and asked, "Mr. Ling, are you really going to Ao Island to gamble?"
"Sort of," Ling Feng replied with a smile. "I’m planning to enter the latest poker tournament!"
"What?"
Zheng Yitong’s eyes widened. "Why?"
"Because I’m short on money lately!"
Ling Feng smiled faintly, speaking the truth as it was.
Sure enough, Zheng Yitong was even more shocked after hearing that. "If you’re short on money, you could’ve just told us! Why enter a competition?"
"It’s simple. First, I don’t want to bother my friends. Second, I need quite a lot, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to get more!" Ling Feng said, still smiling.
Zheng Yitong was utterly baffled. Was this some kind of joke? Professional poker tournaments generally lasted ages; winning the championship wasn’t something that could be done quickly. Most importantly, how could Ling Feng be so certain he’d win?
Seeing her expression, Ling Feng chuckled. "Don’t overthink it. Just drop me off at Ao Island tonight; the rest, you don’t need to worry about!"
"Alright then."
Zheng Yitong nodded, poking at her food with chopsticks. After a moment’s thought, she raised her head again. "By the way, Brother Ling, now that you’re here on Harbor Island, shouldn’t you let Brother Fa and Brother Wah know?"
"No need, I don’t plan to stay long. I’ll probably spend a few days on Ao Island next. If I have time later, I’ll let them know!" Ling Feng smiled.
"Understood!"
Zheng Yitong lowered her head and didn’t say more.
After finishing lunch, Ling Feng turned to Yu Linglong and said, "I noticed you didn’t bring much luggage when we came out. Since we have time, let’s shop for some clothes, shall we?"
"Is that really necessary?" Yu Linglong asked.
"Of course it is! You’re with me now. Even if we don’t go for a new outfit every day, you can’t just stick to one set all the time!" Ling Feng said with a chuckle.
"Alright, whatever you say!" Yu Linglong nodded.
Hearing this, Zheng Yitong immediately chimed in, "I’ll come with you!"
"Sure, I’ll trouble you then, little sister." Yu Linglong flashed a radiant smile.
Seeing that smile, Zheng Yitong could feel her heart skip a beat and couldn’t help but think, "Oh my gosh! I’m a woman, and even I can’t handle that smile—what about men?!"
She instinctively stole a glance at Ling Feng, only to see him completely unshaken, his expression utterly calm, as if unbothered.
This puzzled Zheng Yitong, but if she had seen the likes of Ling Yao and Long Xiaoyu from Nine Heavens, she’d undoubtedly understand why Ling Feng acted this way.
After tidying up, the three of them left the mid-hill villa and drove to the most luxurious shopping district on Harbor Island.
This place was already regarded as Asia’s shopping paradise, showcasing items from all the world’s top luxury brands. Even many wealthy people didn’t easily splurge here.
Especially with luxury goods— the prices were often sky-high despite the limited practical value.
Ling Feng wasn’t thinking much about that. With a few million still in his account, he wouldn’t mind spending it all on Yu Linglong today. After all, he might just earn it all back tonight!
His sole focus was buying Yu Linglong new outfits and shoes. As for jewelry and accessories, the ring he possessed was stocked full of treasures he had once discovered in the Second Layer Heaven and acquired afterward.
Since Ling Feng was with them, Zheng Yitong didn’t bring any bodyguards. Instead, she and Yu Linglong both put on oversized sunglasses. The three of them got out of the car and entered the mall.
Still, despite their attempts to keep a low profile, the two women immediately attracted a lot of attention.
The initial gawkers were tourists, but it wasn’t long before photographers with cameras—tabloid reporters—started rushing toward them.
Being a big star, Zheng Yitong was long accustomed to such scenarios and didn’t think much of it. Yu Linglong, on the other hand, suddenly seemed a bit uneasy. She clearly disliked feeling as though countless eyes were trained on her.
"Sister, you’ll have to get used to this. With looks like yours, you’re bound to draw attention no matter where you go!" Zheng Yutong hooked an arm around hers, smiling warmly.
Yu Linglong sighed softly. "Back where I come from, I always wore a veil when I went out. I really don’t like this kind of thing."
"You’ll adjust eventually!"
With a laugh, Zheng Yitong led her into an upscale boutique.
Ling Feng, knowing his role perfectly, headed straight to the men’s lounge area as their pack mule and financier, waiting calmly without complaint.
Zheng Yitong’s eye for fashion was impeccable. In no time, she had selected several gorgeous long dresses for Yu Linglong.
As for short dresses, Yu Linglong firmly refused to even try any that rose above her knees, feeling they revealed far too much. Zheng Yitong, unable to insist, jokingly remarked, "Sister, your views are so conservative—are you sure you’re not some time traveler from ancient times?"
Yu Linglong smiled faintly but said nothing. Secretly, she mused, "She’s not far off the mark. Where I’m from, no one ever dared dress so scantily."
After two hours of shopping, they finalized purchases of five dresses from the first boutique and went on to buy several pairs of shoes at other stores before calling it a day.
Ling Feng, unable to openly store everything in his bracelet, had to carry the shopping bags himself. The trio headed for the elevators, ready to leave.
But just as they reached the elevator lobby, a man in workwear and a face mask suddenly stepped forward, blocking their path. He asked something in Cantonese.
Ling Feng and Yu Linglong didn’t understand, but Zheng Yitong did. She shook her head and responded briefly.
"What did he say?" Ling Feng asked.
"He claimed he’s a talent scout and wanted to know if the two of us were interested in joining an entertainment company," Zheng Yitong replied.
Ling Feng let out a dry laugh, clearly unimpressed.
The masked man, overhearing their conversation, quickly switched to Mandarin. "Please, all three of you listen— I’m a fantastic judge of potential. With the beauty and figure these two ladies have, becoming superstar celebrities is a guaranteed success! Think about it: earning the adoration of millions, raking in millions per appearance— wouldn’t that be tempting?"
Hearing this, Zheng Yitong rolled her eyes and retorted in irritation, "Do you even call this talent scouting? Look closely—do you know who I am?"
With that, she took off her sunglasses. When the masked man saw her face, he froze in shock.
"Zheng... Miss Zheng! I apologize—I didn’t recognize you!" the man stammered.
Zheng Yitong looked utterly exasperated. She gestured toward the paparazzi in the distance. "With all those cameras pointed at us, how could you not figure it out? Is this your first day on the job?"
"Uh... yes..." The man awkwardly backed down, forcing a laugh before scurrying away.
Ling Feng and the others exchanged amused glances, stepping forward toward the elevator. But just then, an obnoxiously sharp voice suddenly rang out: "Mainlanders, get out of Harbor Island!"
