The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 1137: Meeting the Enemy

Chapter 1137: Meeting the Enemy

Upon hearing Tang Xiaoqian’s words, Mu Lingling’s face flushed. She then said helplessly, "Sis, what are you talking about? I think you’re the one with feelings for Ling Feng! The way you look at him is suspicious!"

Tang Xiaoqian’s face turned red: "I do not!"

"You totally do. Don’t think I didn’t notice," Mu Lingling said with a smirk.

"You little rascal, why are you dragging me into this?"

Tang Xiaoqian pretended to raise her hand to hit her, and Mu Lingling let out a startled yelp before quickly retreating into the house.

A moment later, laughter and playful sounds of the two women echoed out from the room.

By four o’clock in the afternoon, Ling Feng had returned to Tang Family Village from Shankou Village.

However, he didn’t rush to find Tang Xiaoqian and the others. Instead, he chose a spot on the hillside behind the village and sat down.

Using his Divine Sense to lock onto the direction of the village entrance, as soon as Li Yan and her group arrived, Ling Feng would notice immediately.

He waited for two full hours. By the time the sky had completely darkened, two vehicles slowly drove into Tang Family Village.

The first car carried Li Yan and Tian Hao, with two unfamiliar men sitting in the backseat, both around forty, each with a cold and stern expression.

The second car carried only two people—those discreet reinforcements Tian Hao had brought along.

Inside the second car, the driver and passenger were openly discussing Li Yan’s figure in an obnoxious way, which made Ling Feng frown in disgust, itching to teach them a lesson right then and there!

As the cars reached the village entrance, they stopped. A group of people exited the vehicles and headed straight for the school!

Ling Feng sneered internally, thinking, "You’re going to come up empty-handed this time; no one’s there."

Sure enough, when the two men Li Yan had brought climbed over the school’s wall and searched the dormitory, they discovered no one was inside. They reported this to her immediately.

"If the woman’s not here, then she must be at that other woman’s house in the village. I’ll take you there!"

Li Yan narrowed her eyes and said coldly.

As Ling Feng watched the group head straight for Tang Xiaoqian’s house, he knew it was time to act. If he waited any longer, these people would not only frighten Tang Xiaoqian and Mu Lingling but endanger Big Black, the dog!

In a swift movement, Ling Feng appeared at the entrance of Tang Xiaoqian’s house.

Just as Li Yan and her group arrived, under the veil of night making it hard to see faces clearly, one of the two men asked in a deep voice, "Who’s there?"

"Ling Feng!"

When they heard his name, the two men showed no obvious reaction, but Li Yan sneered, "So, you’re no ordinary person after all. Waiting here—I suppose you guessed we’d come, didn’t you?"

"You’re smarter than I thought!"

Ling Feng nodded and then smiled. "I did indeed wait here just for you!"

"Kid, meddling in other people’s business will lead to a miserable end!" Li Yan said grimly.

"Hurting innocent lives also leads to a miserable end. Don’t you understand that principle?" Ling Feng asked with a cold smile.

"You!"

Li Yan was momentarily stunned, rendered speechless by Ling Feng’s words!

Ling Feng, however, did not bother with her any further. Instead, he turned to look at the two middle-aged men. "You two—coming all this way to do something like this—can you truly justify it to your own cultivation?"

"Who exactly are you?"

The two men were startled by Ling Feng’s words and narrowed their eyes.

Ling Feng smiled faintly. "I won’t keep it from you. I work for the Safety Bureau."

"Hm?"

The two men froze and then exclaimed in surprise, "How did you know we’d come here?"

"I have my ways. Now, you won’t deny what you’re here to do, right?" Ling Feng asked coldly.

Exchanging glances, the two men simultaneously shook their heads.

One of them finally spoke calmly. "Even if you’re a detective of the Safety Bureau, you’ve no authority to interfere. We belong to the Li Family."

"Is that so? I’ve never heard of it. What exactly is the Li Family known for?" Ling Feng asked with mocking laughter.

"The Li Family is part of Huaxia’s ancient martial arts lineage! The name doesn’t ring a bell to you?" one of the men asked coldly.

"Ah, sorry, maybe you’re just too irrelevant and unheard of," Ling Feng shrugged and replied.

A furious Li Yan pointed at Ling Feng and shouted, "Whether you’ve heard of us or not, no one’s stopping me today! Anyone in my way shall perish!"

"Wow, that’s nuts!"

Ling Feng smirked coldly. "If you want to harm others, you’ll have to get past me first!"

"Uncles, since he’s delivered himself to us, show him what we can do!" Li Yan ordered.

The two middle-aged men remained silent for a moment before suddenly making their move.

Ling Feng’s eyes narrowed. "How brazen—to know who I am and yet dare to strike. Where does your confidence come from?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the God Slayer Saber was unleashed, and two dazzling arcs of saber light instantly swept out!

"Whoosh! Whoosh!"

The blade lights grazed the top of the two men’s heads, startling them both!

Feeling Ling Feng’s overwhelming aura emanating, they immediately stopped in their tracks.

"Mr. Ling, we didn’t expect your cultivation to be so formidable!" one of the men said.

"You flatter me. So, what now? Are you abandoning the fight and choosing to negotiate instead?" Ling Feng asked flatly.

The sarcasm in his tone was clear, but the two men didn’t mind. Instead, they nodded. "That’s right. Wise men adapt to circumstances. If we can’t win, why invite humiliation upon ourselves?"

"Smart choice!"

Ling Feng smirked and then asked plainly, "If it’s negotiation you want, then tell me—who are you, and what do you want?"

"We’re brothers; my name is Li Wen, and his is Li Wu. Our purpose here is to find Mu Lingling and get justice for our young lady!"

"Justice?"

Ling Feng couldn’t help but let out a laugh and sarcastically asked, "This so-called justice—are you sure it’s just her side of the story? Go ahead, tell me—what did she say Mu Lingling did to harm her?"

"Uh..."

Li Wen hesitated, glancing at Li Yan behind him. "Yan’er, you didn’t lie to us, did you?"

"Of course not! How—how could I deceive you?" Li Yan said, her voice lacking conviction.

"Alright, I’ll trust you."

Li Wen nodded, then turned to Ling Feng. "Mu Lingling badmouthed our young lady behind her back, stole her boyfriend, and took the keepsake that our young lady had gifted to that boy. This matter demands an explanation—no one in the Li Family can be bullied like this!"

"Sigh!"

Ling Feng sighed after hearing this, then looked at Li Yan and said, "What kind of family could raise someone like you? Cruel-hearted, deceitful—are lies your family tradition?"

"You’re spouting nonsense!"

Li Yan roared, pointing a finger at Ling Feng. "How dare you humiliate me like this! Even if my two uncles aren’t your match, my grandfather will definitely defeat you!"

"Call your grandfather, then. The more people you gather here, the more your true colors will be exposed," Ling Feng replied with a cold smile.

Sensing that there might be more to this story, Li Wen couldn’t help but ask, "Mr. Ling, if you know something, why not share with us so we can clear up any misunderstandings and avoid unnecessary conflict?"
