As soon as Ye Qian finished speaking, a sneer came from all directions: "Just you three little brats?"

Ling Feng was speechless. He looked around and said, "Old geezer, dare to show yourself? Talking smack from the shadows, what kind of skill is that?"

"Alright!"

The two women nodded and followed him forward immediately.

Ling Feng chuckled coldly and continued, "Who can’t throw threats? If you’ve got the guts, come out here and stop us!"

Silence fell from the other side.

Inside the cave would be the missing zombies. But Ling Feng didn’t immediately lead the two women in; instead, he stopped in his tracks.

"Why aren’t we going in?" Li Fei’er asked.

"No rush." Ling Feng replied calmly.

He knew very well that the black-robed man could still be hiding somewhere. If they entered the cave and the man collapsed the entrance, what then?

While it wouldn’t trap them forever, getting out would be a pain.

He turned to Ye Qian and said, "You and Fei’er go destroy the Formation. There’s only one exit here. I’ll stay and set a trap—it’s the perfect chance to catch a rat in its hole!"

"Got it!"

Ye Qian nodded. She and Li Fei’er leapt onto Wang Cai’s back and headed up the mountain.

After they left, Ling Feng surveyed his surroundings and sneered, asking loudly, "How about it now? Feeling an irresistible urge to kill me? How about I give you a chance?"

"Then I’ll grant your wish!"

The instant the words fell, the black-robed man suddenly appeared—no one could tell where he’d come from.

He materialized just a meter away from Ling Feng and struck immediately, clawing for Ling Feng’s throat!

Having anticipated this, Ling Feng leaned back, dodging the withered, claw-like hand.

In the same motion, he raised the God Slayer Saber in his hand, slashing straight for the man’s chest!

With a sharp swish, the blade struck, cleaving the black-robed man in two!

Thinking he’d succeeded, Ling Feng sneered, "Overestimating yourself!"

"You’re not there yet if you want to kill me!"

The black-robed man’s voice rose again. His severed body reconnected instantly!

"Oh, come on!"

Ling Feng reeled in shock. This guy was unkillable!

Completely dumbfounded, he thought, What the hell... He can regenerate?

The black-robed man lunged toward him again, but at that moment, the sound of furious roars echoed from the cave. The zombies inside had been freed from control and were about to charge out!

Unwilling but aware that Wang Cai and Yellow would return soon, the black-robed man retreated dozens of meters, glaring at Ling Feng as he shouted, "This isn’t over, kid!"

Crimson flames ignited with a roar, followed by blood-curdling screeches from within the cave.

When Ye Qian and Li Fei’er returned, rumbling sounds began emanating from the cave.

"Uncle, what’s that sound?" Li Fei’er asked curiously.

"Sounds like falling rocks. The heat inside must’ve destabilized the cave’s structure," Ling Feng replied.

No sooner had he spoken than the booms grew louder. The ground beneath them trembled as the three hurried away to a nearby hill.

Moments later, a great quake rocked the earth. The circular peak collapsed entirely, sending a cloud of dust skyward.

"That should do it. All the zombies are buried!" Ling Feng said with a smile.

"Hu Tiesheng spent nearly a century painstakingly reaching a breakthrough, only for you to destroy it in one fell swoop. He must be beside himself!" Ye Qian laughed.

"That’s exactly what I was going for!"

Ling Feng nodded. "If he’s mad enough to come for revenge, that’ll be the time to settle things with him once and for all!"

With the mountain obliterated, calm returned to the valley. Scanning with his Divine Sense, Ling Feng found no signs of anyone remaining.

Even those guarding the cave must’ve fled after he killed four of their comrades earlier.

Seeing this, Ling Feng turned to Li Fei’er and Ye Qian. "Mission accomplished. Let’s head home!"

"Alright!"

Li Fei’er clapped her hands. "Let’s hurry back. Sister Lian’s making a feast—we might still catch it!"

Ling Feng blinked. "A feast? What feast?"

"Today’s Sasha’s birthday!" Ye Qian said.

"Oh!"

Ling Feng’s eyes lit up. No way would he miss this. "Let’s move. My eldest disciple’s birthday—I’ve got to be there!"

Li Fei’er rolled her eyes at him. "For a master, you sure are hands-off. Bring them home and forget about them, huh?"
