Chapter 1119 Leave a Message
Chapter 1119 Leave a Message
In the end, Chen Yuhe still didn’t leave, staying by Ling Feng’s side.
The two naturally ignited like dry wood and fire, and it wasn’t until the sky was completely dark that they stopped.
After their ragged breaths calmed down, Ling Feng and Chen Yuhe lay in each other’s arms, enjoying a moment of peace.
It was unclear how much time passed when a rustling sound broke the tranquility. Chen Yuhe lifted her head and asked, "What’s that noise?"
Ling Feng didn’t reply. He scanned the area with his Divine Sense and was immediately stunned!
Two dark figures were standing in the courtyard, slowly making their way toward the house!
"Damn it!"
Ling Feng muttered under his breath, immediately getting out of bed to put on his clothes.
Seeing this, Chen Yuhe asked, "What’s going on?"
"Two zombies have wandered their way here!" Ling Feng said.
"What?"
Chen Yuhe was dumbfounded. "How did they end up here?"
"Looks like they’re looking for me. Otherwise, there’s no way to explain this!"
As Ling Feng spoke, he had already finished putting on his clothes. He then said to her, "Wait for me."
"Okay."
Chen Yuhe nodded, knowing Ling Feng could easily handle such things, so she wasn’t the least bit worried.
True enough, moments later, a flash of fire lit up outside the courtyard, followed by a series of roars.
Soon after, the flames gradually died down, and Ling Feng returned, looking exasperated.
"Did you turn them to ash?" Chen Yuhe asked.
"Yeah."
Ling Feng nodded and sat on the edge of the bed. "It’s a good thing you didn’t go outside—those zombies are truly disgusting..."
"Just stop already! The more you describe it, the more nauseous I feel!" Chen Yuhe cut him off quickly.
"Alright, alright."
Ling Feng chuckled but then frowned: "Strange... how did those two know I was here? Did they sniff me out?"
"Do they even have noses?"
Chen Yuhe rolled her eyes at him and then suggested, "Why don’t you go to the Nine Heavens and see if Ye Qian or Yang Guang knows anything?!"
"Alright, are you coming with me?" Ling Feng asked.
"No, I want to get a good sleep for once."
Chen Yuhe stretched lazily and pulled the blanket over her body.
"Alright then, I’ll be back soon!"
Knowing she was tired, Ling Feng smirked mischievously and teleported to the Nine Heavens.
Later, he found Ye Qian and Yang Guang and told them about the incident of the two missing zombies showing up at Little Lian’s house.
After hearing him out, Ye Qian thought for a moment and said, "It’s definitely not their noses that tracked you down. My guess is that the corpses held a grudge or you took something of theirs, so they came after you!"
Ling Feng was momentarily taken aback but then understood: "Now that you mention it, I do have something of theirs!"
He reached into his bracelet and pulled out a token.
"That must be it. This is their identity symbol. You took it away, so of course, they wouldn’t rest in peace!" Ye Qian explained.
"It’s a pity they’re brainless. If they had a bit of intelligence, they wouldn’t have come here just to die!" Ling Feng said with a grin.
"This also confirms something. It seems our suspicions were spot on—Hu Tiesheng really is gathering his old forces!" Ye Qian said.
"Is there any way you can help me figure out where that guy is hiding? The more I think about it, the more I want to find him!" Ling Feng said through gritted teeth.
"It’s actually quite simple. Isn’t he after that sword of yours? Just find a way to let him know about it!" Ye Qian said with a smile.
"That’s actually a good idea!"
Ling Feng nodded. "Let me think carefully about how to get this news to him!"
...
...
Early the next morning, Ling Feng headed into the mountains.
After half an hour, he arrived at the ruins of Hu Family Village. The rising sun had already illuminated the valley.
Of course, Wang Xi was no longer there. Scanning the area with his Divine Sense, Ling Feng spotted a mound of dirt nearby—it was obvious it had been made recently.
Though there was no stele or inscription, Ling Feng immediately knew it must be Chen Jin’s grave.
He didn’t dwell on it and walked straight to the broken stele in the middle of the village.
Using the God Slayer Saber, he erased the original text on the stele and carved a new message: If you want your sword, come find me!
Ling Feng intentionally didn’t leave any indication he was in Shankou Village. That way, it would lower the chances of the Xinglong Gang coming and hurting the villagers.
He knew that if Hu Tiesheng saw these words, he would definitely stir up some commotion, forcing Ling Feng to go looking for him!
After finishing the carving, Ling Feng clapped his hands, stood up, and sneered, "Old bastard, the first move is mine. Your turn now!"
Without wasting any more time, Ling Feng quickly left.
Rushing back toward Shankou Village, he suddenly heard someone shouting near the northern foothills, prompting him to stop abruptly.
Listening closely, it was indeed a woman’s voice, crying for help!
Since the distance was over a kilometer, all Ling Feng could hear was the sound echoing between the mountains. He promptly turned and dashed in that direction.
As he got closer, the image of the person in distress appeared in his mind.
The woman seemed to be in her late twenties, wearing a white blouse and black pants. She was quite pretty, too.
But seeing her sitting on the ground with a look of pain and fear, Ling Feng immediately quickened his pace.
Moments later, he arrived at the scene, halting in the thicket. He then shouted, "Who’s crying for help?"
"It’s me! Over here, hurry!"
Hearing someone respond, the woman called out eagerly.
Only then did Ling Feng leisurely emerge from the woods and walk toward her.
When their eyes met, the woman froze. "Which village are you from?"
"I’m from Shankou Village. What about you, ma’am?" Ling Feng asked.
"I’m from Tang Family Village."
"Oh, what happened to you?" Ling Feng asked.
"I accidentally slipped down the hill. I think I’ve broken my leg," the woman said.
"Seriously?"
Ling Feng was taken aback and hurried over, thinking to himself how anyone with a broken bone could still stay so composed—she would’ve been crying in agony by now!
Just as he was about to examine her, he hesitated and pulled his hand back, looking at the woman. "Ma’am, I know a bit of medicine. May I check your leg?"
"Really? That’s great! Please, take a look!" the woman urged.
Ling Feng finally reached out and carefully held her lower leg.
After a quick examination, he realized it wasn’t a full break—just a minor fracture in the shinbone. The situation wasn’t too serious.
Even so, it must have been extremely painful. Ling Feng looked up in admiration and said, "Ma’am, you’ve got some serious endurance—not even a single complaint of pain?"
"It does hurt, but I have to endure it to save energy. If I hadn’t run into you, I might not make it home tonight!" the woman said helplessly.
Ling Feng nodded. "Makes sense."
"By the way, I remember Shankou Village only has that old man Zhao as a doctor. Are you also a doctor?" the woman asked curiously.
Ling Feng shook his head. "No, I just have some medical knowledge."
"Oh, what’s your name?" the woman asked.
"I’m Ling Feng. What about you?"
"I’m Tang Xiaoqian."
Ling Feng smiled. "So you’re Sister Xiaoqian!"
Tang Xiaoqian blushed. The man before her didn’t seem unpleasant—his cheerful demeanor even gave her a sense of safety.
