Chapter 1112: Don’t Leave
Chapter 1112: Don’t Leave
"Master, it really is this!"
Chen Jin turned back and looked at Wang Xi.
"Hmm!"
Wang Xi nodded, his gaze towards Ling Feng growing darker. "Young man, so you’ve already acted first!"
"That’s right. I don’t know where you got your information, but it’s completely wrong. This sword, I found it in the Capital City, it wasn’t here at all!" Ling Feng sneered.
"Oh?"
Wang Xi was a bit surprised; he didn’t expect this to be the case.
After a moment of pondering, he raised his head and said to Ling Feng, "Let’s negotiate. How about you give us this sword?"
Ling Feng laughed, "Give it to you? Why?"
"I am the 37th Sect Leader of the Kongtong Sword Sect. This sword originally belonged to our sect, but it was taken by Hu Tiesheng many years ago. It’s time to return it to its rightful owner!" Wang Xi said self-righteously.
"Is that so?"
Ling Feng smiled slightly, "Do you think I believe that?"
Wang Xi: "..."
Ling Feng chuckled inwardly. Such a clumsy excuse, did they think he was a fool?
As soon as these two master and disciple saw the sword, their eyes became greedy and feverish!
Clearly, they were coveting the Evil Qi emanating from the sword. No one with decent intentions would crave such a thing!
At this moment, Ling Feng had no goodwill left for the duo. Wang Xi was nothing but a hypocrite, masquerading as a good person!
The situation fell into a stalemate. Just then, Chen Jin said, "Boy, if you’re not going to hand it over, then I’ll just take it by force!"
"Oh, stealing and murdering now, are we? Sure, bring it on!"
Ling Feng grinned, storing the wooden box into his bracelet and then pulling out the God Slayer Saber once again. "If you can beat me, the sword is yours!"
"Then you can just go to hell!"
Chen Jin gritted his teeth and swung his sword to strike!
Ling Feng sidestepped with a flash, sneering, "With those amateur moves of yours? You really don’t know your limits!"
Just as his words fell, a glint of cold steel flashed in his peripheral vision—Wang Xi had suddenly drawn his sword from the side!
Ling Feng had been on guard all along. With a sharp backhand slash of his saber, he countered!
"Rip!"
Wang Xi’s longsword shattered instantly, leaving only the hilt and a ten-centimeter piece of blade!
"Hiss—!"
"What a sharp blade!"
Seeing Wang Xi’s astonished expression, Ling Feng sneered, "You’ve clearly never seen the world. My God Slayer Saber is worth far more than that longsword of yours!"
"Heh, boy, then you might as well hand that over to me too!"
Chen Jin sneered, his tone filled with smugness.
Ling Feng froze momentarily. When he turned back, he was startled to see that Chen Jin had already seized Hehua, holding his longsword to her neck!
"You dare!"
Ling Feng erupted in fury. He hadn’t expected his momentary lapse to allow Chen Jin to exploit it!
At this moment, Hehua was utterly terrified, her body trembling slightly. Her mouth moved, but no sound came out!
Chen Jin sneered, "Why wouldn’t I dare? Out here in this wilderness, I could kill someone and toss them into the dense forest. No one would find them for years!"
Ling Feng was so furious he laughed. He thought, are people nowadays all this brazen?
Previously it had been that Hu Er, spewing similar threats. And how did that end? Wasn’t he left crippled?
But facing this foolhardy Chen Jin, Ling Feng had no intention to spare him!
Because the boy had frightened Hehua, Ling Feng had already made up his mind to kill him!
At this moment, Wang Xi, utterly oblivious to the danger, casually said on the side, "Ling Feng, given the circumstances, I think you should just give in. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be good if that girl were harmed!"
Ling Feng turned back and glanced at him. "So, you’re saying, if I hand over the sword, you’ll let us go?"
"Not just the sword. I also want that saber in your hand, and that spatial equipment of yours. Hand it all over!"
Wang Xi finally revealed his true colors, speaking in an indifferent tone.
"Oh, really? Too bad—I refuse." Ling Feng smiled.
Hearing this, Chen Jin immediately pressed the blade closer to Hehua’s throat. "Boy, don’t think I’m bluffing. I’ll give you three seconds, or she dies!"
"One second is all I need!"
Ling Feng sneered, activating the Mind Soul Art!
"Ah!"
Chen Jin screamed in pain, his longsword clattering to the ground as he clutched his head, crying out in agony.
With that, Hehua was released. Her legs were weak, but realizing this was her chance, she immediately ran toward Ling Feng!
Wang Xi, seeing this, had no idea what had happened, but he understood that letting her return to Ling Feng’s side would leave him with no leverage!
So the old man leapt toward Hehua, attempting to catch her once more!
But just as he jumped, he spotted a foot coming at him from the side!
"Bang!"
The old man was kicked squarely by Ling Feng, his body flying backward and slamming into the dilapidated stele that had once praised Hu Tiesheng!
Wang Xi crashed to the ground, spitting a mouthful of blood. He looked at Ling Feng in shock. "You, you...!"
"Me, what? What now, finally realizing how blind you’ve been?"
Ling Feng sneered, wrapping an arm around Hehua’s shoulders. "Don’t be afraid. I told you, nothing would happen!"
Hehua, still shaken, said nothing.
Ling Feng hesitated briefly, thinking that killing someone in front of her might scare her further, so he said, "Let’s go."
"Okay." Hehua nodded.
The two of them left. After walking several hundred meters, Ling Feng suddenly said, "I feel like I forgot something. Wait here for me!"
Before Hehua could respond, Ling Feng dashed back.
Hehua’s eyes widened in alarm, her heart immediately tensing up.
The surrounding darkness was oppressive, and she couldn’t see more than a few meters away. She felt as though countless monsters were lurking in the shadows!
Thankfully, Ling Feng returned moments later. Taking her hand, he said, "Sorry for scaring you. Everything’s fine now."
"Big Brother Ling, what did you go back for?" Hehua asked.
"Nothing, don’t ask. Let’s head back," Ling Feng replied, putting an arm around her waist as he leapt into the darkness!
Hehua couldn’t see a thing in the dark, and she couldn’t guide him. She simply felt the night wind on her face, her hair flying loose in the air.
But her heart was unexpectedly calm. Ling Feng’s embrace gave her a sense of immense safety, easing much of her earlier fear.
Half an hour later, Hehua was surprised to find they had reached the edge of the village. Seeing the familiar surroundings and the warm light of her home, her heart finally settled completely.
Ling Feng let go of her and patted her head. "You’ve gone through a lot today. I’ll make it up to you later. For now, go home and rest."
As he turned to leave, Hehua suddenly hugged him tightly!
Ling Feng was startled, feeling her cling tightly to his waist. He asked in confusion, "What’s wrong?"
"Don’t go, I don’t want to be apart from you!"
Hehua didn’t know where she found the courage, but she suddenly felt an overwhelming urge—as if, if Ling Feng left now, she might never see him again.
