Chapter 1100: Go to the Police Station

Ling Feng immediately understood what was going on.

Little Lian was right—the guy Hu Dalin really did call the police!

Two police officers were already out of their car and had walked into the yard. Zhao Sanquan hurried to meet them and asked, "Director Li, why are you here?"

"Did someone come to your house recently? A guest named Ling Feng?" asked the older Director Li.

"Yes, why are you looking for him?" Zhao Sanquan asked, puzzled.

"That’s correct!"

As soon as Director Li finished speaking, Ling Feng came out of the room.

Their gazes met, and Director Li asked, "Are you Ling Feng?"

"I am. Is there something I can help you with?" Ling Feng asked.

"You’ve been reported for allegedly being involved in a deliberate assault case. You’ll need to come with us," Director Li said.

Ling Feng let out an "Oh," thinking to himself, "I figured this might happen."

He then smiled and said, "That incident was indeed caused by me, but there’s no need for an investigation. You don’t have jurisdiction over me!"

Saying this, he pulled out his credentials and handed them over.

Director Li was taken aback, opened the credentials, and saw the Safety Bureau insignia. He looked stunned.

He then looked back at Ling Feng. "So, you’re with the military?"

"Yes."

Ling Feng nodded and then asked, "I guess I don’t need to go with you now?"

To his surprise, Director Li shook his head. "Sorry, you’ll still need to come with us. Your credentials need to be verified for authenticity!"

Ling Feng was speechless.

Realizing their request wasn’t unreasonable, he sighed and said, "Alright, I’ll go with you then!"

Turning back to see Zhao Sanquan’s worried face, Ling Feng quickly reassured him, "Uncle Zhao, don’t worry—I’ll be fine!"

"When will you be back?" Zhao Sanquan asked.

"Not sure, but it shouldn’t take long. You go ahead and eat first!"

Ling Feng smiled and got into the police car with Director Li.

Since police cars were rarely seen in the village, many villagers came out of their homes, staring blankly at the scene.

Most didn’t recognize Ling Feng, but among those who did, Little Lian and He Ping’an’s family looked deeply concerned. Meanwhile, Hu Dalin and his sons wore gloating expressions.

Little Lian wasn’t thinking about him at all; she was simply worried that if Ling Feng were taken away, she might never see him again.

The police car left the village and drove down the rural road. Unable to contain himself, Ling Feng asked, "Director Li, where are we headed?"

"Not far, just to Hongqi Town. We’ll be there soon!" Director Li replied.

"That’s manageable. If it were too far, I’d ask you to give me a ride back!" Ling Feng joked.

Seeing how relaxed he appeared, Director Li grew curious, glancing back at him. "Why did you seriously injure Hu Er?"

Ling Feng didn’t answer directly. Instead, he smirked and countered, "Director Li, do you know what kind of man Hu Er is?"

"I’ve heard some things. Why?"

"Well, then you should understand why I dealt with him the way I did!" Ling Feng said with a laugh.

Director Li thought about it and realized he couldn’t argue. Hu Er had a notorious reputation in Hongqi Town and the surrounding areas as a troublemaker. Hardly anyone dared provoke him.

Now that this scoundrel had finally met his downfall, many people were actually thrilled to hear the news!

So, Director Li didn’t press further, and before long, they arrived at the police station in Hongqi Town.

Getting out of the car, Ling Feng noticed his phone had rang several times—a few missed calls and text messages.

Glancing at them briefly, he saw they weren’t important and decided not to bother with them.

He followed the two officers into the station, and Director Li took his credentials to verify them.

Chen Ping went silent for a moment before asking, "What’s the name of the police station?"

"Hongqi Town Police Station. Should I—"

Before Ling Feng could finish, the call abruptly ended.

For the first time, Ling Feng had encountered Chen Ping acting like this. He couldn’t tell whether Chen Ping was angry or hurried, but being cut off mid-sentence was definitely a first!

After a few more minutes, Director Li returned holding Ling Feng’s credentials.

Ling Feng expected the matter to be resolved, but instead, Director Li said, "Sorry, our network is down, so we couldn’t verify the authenticity of your credentials!"

"You can’t leave yet—you might have to stay here overnight!" Director Li said apologetically.

"No need to say that—you were just following procedures and enforcing the law fairly," Ling Feng said with a smile.

"Uh, we just received orders from above. I’m instructed to escort you out. Where would you like to go?" Director Li asked.

Ling Feng chuckled. "No need—driving me won’t be faster than me walking myself. I’ll leave on my own!"

Director Li was dumbfounded, thinking, "How could that be possible?"

But as he followed Ling Feng outside and watched him vanish in a flash, Director Li finally realized it wasn’t a joke!

Staring at the entrance of the police station, Director Li muttered to himself.

Ling Feng didn’t waste any time after leaving. He returned to the village at an astonishing speed.

He did this because he didn’t want the villagers to worry about him.

After returning, he first went to Little Lian’s house. Noticing the lights inside and shadows flickering, Ling Feng curiously scanned the room using his Divine Sense and immediately flew into a rage!
