The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 1099: Future Troubles

Chapter 1099: Future Troubles

Hu Ergou realized he couldn’t threaten Ling Feng, so he angrily said, "Wu wu wu wu wu wu wu..."

Unable to speak, he could only express his emotions this way.

Then Hu Ergou turned around and left, his walk full of awkward swaying, clearly still suffering from the pain he endured earlier.

Watching his back, Ling Feng turned to look at Little Lian. "Big Sis Lian, what’s that guy up to now?"

"What else could it be? He’s definitely going back to get his family! What should we do? Maybe you should hurry up and leave!" Little Lian said anxiously.

Ling Feng raised his shoulders as if shrugging off the suggestion. "How could I do that? If I left, wouldn’t that mean you’d be in danger?"

"But they’ve got more people, and if things get ugly, it’ll blow up into something big!" Little Lian said.

Ling Feng chuckled. "Relax, even if I beat them to death, nothing will happen to me. Trust me!"

"I..."

Little Lian bit her lip, thinking to herself that Ling Feng was bragging way too much—why on earth should she trust him?

Ling Feng didn’t bother explaining further. He grabbed her hand and said, "Then I won’t go back right now. I’ll just wait at your house for a bit."

This "wait" turned out to be half an hour. The sun had already begun setting to the west when a commotion erupted from the eastern part of the village. Then, more than ten people wielding machetes and sticks showed up at Little Lian’s doorstep.

Seeing their aggressive appearance, Little Lian’s heart sank. She thought to herself, it’s over—Ling Feng is in big trouble now!

"Wu wu wu wu wu wu wu!"

Hu Ergou stood among the crowd, pointing at Ling Feng and making incomprehensible noises.

Hu Dalin looked over at Ling Feng and furrowed his brows slightly. "Kid, where are you from?"

"Me? I’m just a tourist, out here exploring the mountains!" Ling Feng replied.

"When you’re in our village, you have to follow our rules. Now you’ve beaten up my son and made him mute. You owe me an explanation!" Hu Dalin said.

"You want an explanation, huh?"

Ling Feng chuckled. "Your son bullied Big Sis Lian and even tried breaking into her private room. I wanted to teach him a lesson so he’d think twice in the future—that’s all!"

"A lesson?"

Hu Dalin squinted his eyes. "You made him mute—is that your idea of a ’lesson’?"

Ling Feng shrugged. "So, what do you want to do about it?"

"I want to break one of your legs and make you pay compensation to my son!"

Hu Dalin yelled this out and then turned to the crowd, commanding them, "Everyone, get him! Cripple him!"

As soon as his words landed, the group of more than ten people, swinging machetes and sticks, charged at Ling Feng!

"Ah!"

Little Lian screamed in fear and shut her eyes tightly.

However, the anticipated sounds of violence didn’t come. After a moment of silence, she opened her eyes cautiously.

What she saw left her stunned: all of those people were already lying on the ground, writhing in pain, just like Hu Ergou earlier. None of them could make a sound!

She never imagined Ling Feng would take out such a large group all at once!

Ling Feng smiled softly and walked toward Hu Dalin. "Now it’s just you left. Since you like shouting so much, I’ll make sure you’re just like your son!"

"No, no!"

Hu Dalin finally realized he was outmatched. He stumbled backward a few steps, waving his hands frantically, "I was wrong! I’m sorry!"

"You think saying ’I’m sorry’ is enough?" Ling Feng asked.

"Uh..."

Hu Dalin froze, then asked cautiously, "What more do you want?"

"With your dim wit, I can’t believe you’re the Village Chief—don’t tell me there’s no one better in this village?"

Ling Feng frowned slightly before shouting sternly, "Remember this: never let your son bother Big Sis Lian again! If he does, I’ll make sure he regrets it for the rest of his life!"

To further scare him, Ling Feng added, "By the way, it was me who handled Hu Er last night—you’ve heard about it, haven’t you?"

"What? It was you?"

Hu Dalin gasped, stepping back in fear.

He had heard from others about Hu Er’s miserable state—his legs were ruined, and he could never stand again. The villagers initially thought it was karma for all of Hu Er’s awful deeds, that he had fallen badly during a late-night walk. But now, they realized it was Ling Feng who did it!

This level of brutality was terrifying!

Hu Dalin swallowed hard and spoke carefully, "I...I understand. From now on, I’ll make sure Ergou doesn’t come near Little Lian’s house—not even her doorstep!"

"I hope you’re serious. I may leave in a few days, but if I ever feel like coming back, I can deal with you all anytime!" Ling Feng said.

"Understood, understood!"

Hu Dalin nodded repeatedly, bending over in humility.

Seeing his submissive attitude, Ling Feng decided not to push things further. He released the pressure points of those lying on the ground.

Watching them climb to their feet with faces full of fear, Ling Feng sneered, "Now you can all get out!"

No one dared make a sound.

The group shuffled away in shame, but Hu Ergou remained, glaring at Ling Feng with a face full of resentment, clearly still not willing to accept defeat.

Looking at him, Hu Dalin shook his head and ordered someone to drag Hu Ergou away.

With this attitude, Hu Ergou could forget about convincing Ling Feng to undo his condition. They’d have to figure out another plan later!

Once the group dispersed, Ling Feng turned to look at Little Lian. "Big Sis, it’s all settled now!"

Little Lian’s expression didn’t show any joy. Instead, a faint sorrow hung over her face. She nodded absentmindedly, "Oh."

Seeing her like this, Ling Feng was puzzled. "What’s wrong? Are you still worried they’ll come back and cause trouble?"

"No, I’m afraid...afraid of what you just admitted!" Little Lian lifted her head and said.

"What do you mean?"

"You admitted you broke Hu Er’s legs. If Hu Dalin remembers this and decides to report it to the police, you could be in big trouble!" Little Lian said.

Ling Feng responded with an "Oh" and then chuckled. "Don’t worry, the police can’t touch me!"

"..."

Little Lian was once again speechless.

Every time, she felt like Ling Feng was bragging too hard, yet each time he managed to resolve the problem. Despite this, she still couldn’t believe what Ling Feng just claimed—the police couldn’t touch him? Was that even possible?

The sky was growing darker now as the sun slid behind the mountain peak, casting shadows across the village.

Ling Feng, remembering he needed to return to Nine Heavens, said to Little Lian, "I’ll head back first. I’ll come find you again tomorrow!"

"Oh, what for?" Little Lian asked instinctively.

"What do you think?" Ling Feng replied with a cheeky grin.

"You..."

Little Lian was speechless again. This guy—was he not the least bit worried? How could he still be joking around?

Watching Ling Feng’s silhouette fade into the distance, she bit her lip and turned back to her home.

Ling Feng arrived at Zhao Sanquan’s house. The old man was here stoking the fire to cook. Seeing Ling Feng, he smiled and said, "You’re back just in time for supper, huh?"

"Just lucky timing!"

Noticing Zhao Sanquan didn’t seem aware of what had just unfolded in the village, Ling Feng didn’t bother mentioning it. Instead, he helped fill the water tank and swept the yard while dinner was finished.

But just as they were about to eat, the sound of an engine echoed nearby. Moments later, a police car pulled up outside Zhao Sanquan’s house!
