Chapter 1095: Good Tea
Chapter 1095: Good Tea
Such an enthusiastic embrace, Ling Feng saw no need to hold back any longer.
He placed both hands under Little Lian’s backside to keep her securely nestled in his arms, then asked, "Have you been abstinent for a long time?"
"Mm, ever since I split with that bastard, I haven’t touched a man for a year!" Little Lian looked him straight in the eyes and answered directly.
Their bodies pressed close together, and Ling Feng could clearly feel her rapid heartbeat. Coupled with the smoldering, seductive gaze she gave him, he chuckled, "No wonder you’re being so forward!"
"Ugh, are you in or not? Why are you still yakking?" Little Lian shot him a glance.
Ling Feng hesitated for a moment, thinking to himself—just moving forward like this, is it really appropriate?
His hesitation was swiftly countered by Little Lian’s bold move, as she leaned forward and sealed his lips with hers!
The kiss felt like thunder igniting a wildfire. Ling Feng thought, Well, if the meat is already delivered to my mouth, wouldn’t it be wasteful not to indulge?
That kind of waste surely invites punishment from the heavens!
While still kissing Little Lian, he carried her toward the bed. Before long, the two were lying together.
Suddenly, a crisp voice came from outside: "Lian Jie, are you home?"
The unexpected call startled them both. Little Lian’s face instantly flushed as she scrambled off the bed, smoothing her hair while calling out loudly, "I’m here, coming!"
Watching her hurry out, Ling Feng sighed bitterly. As expected, good things never come easy!
From outside came the sound of voices, and Ling Feng quickly recognized the speaker as the young woman named Hehua. At this moment, she was chatting with Little Lian: "Jie, it’s good you’re home. My parents wanted to ask you for help!"
"What do they need help with?" Little Lian asked.
"This morning, Mr. Ling treated my dad’s abdominal colic and didn’t charge a fee. My parents want to invite him over for a meal, and since you’re such a great cook, they hoped you could help prepare the dishes!" Hehua explained.
"Oh, I see," Little Lian replied, then added, "Alright, you go back first. I’ll come by later!"
"Okay, Jie, please come soon. My mom’s already started preparing the ingredients!"
"Alright, I’ll head over right away!"
The conversation ended, and a moment later, Little Lian returned to the room. Seeing Ling Feng still lying in bed, she chuckled, "You heard everything, didn’t you?"
"Mm, the folks in the village are really too polite. This isn’t necessary at all!" Ling Feng said.
"Of course it’s necessary. You didn’t charge a fee—it’s only right to share a meal!"
Little Lian replied, then approached the bed, casually straddling Ling Feng’s waist: "We’ve got twenty minutes. Better make the most of it!"
Ling Feng smirked wryly, "Jie, stop teasing me. Twenty minutes won’t cut it!"
Little Lian pouted, "Oh, please. Try bragging again!"
"Don’t believe me? You’ll find out when we’ve got time later!"
Ling Feng sat up, embracing her as he got off the bed, and gently placed her back down on the floor. "You’ve already agreed to help, so you’d better get going!"
"You really don’t want to?"
Little Lian hadn’t expected Ling Feng’s self-control to be this strong—it surprised her.
Ling Feng chuckled wryly, "It’s really not enough time!"
"Hmph, you’ll regret this!"
Little Lian quipped before turning around and heading outside.
Watching her leave, Ling Feng quickly followed suit; staying at her place now didn’t seem appropriate.
At the courtyard gate, Little Lian looked back at him. "Are you coming with me to Hehua’s place?"
Ling Feng shook his head. "That wouldn’t do. I’ll head back to Zhao Sanquan’s for now!"
"True, if you come with me, they’ll realize you were just here!"
Little Lian said, then gave him a little shove, "Get going already! I need to help them out!"
With that, she turned and walked toward the village’s western end.
Ling Feng stood for a moment watching her retreating figure before heading back to Zhao Sanquan’s home.
As soon as he entered, the old man had already cleaned the mold off a ham. Lifting his head, he grinned, "You’re back at just the right time. He Ping’an wants to invite you for a meal. Come with me to his place!"
Ling Feng had already been told but pretended to be hearing it anew. "No need for all that, isn’t this a bit much?"
"It’s only proper. If you turn them down, it’ll trouble their conscience. C’mon, let’s go!"
Zhao Sanquan said, grabbing the ham and stepping outside.
Ling Feng had no choice but to follow him; together they made their way to He Ping’an’s home.
The He Family was bustling with activity. Hehua’s mom had just slaughtered a chicken, and Little Lian was sitting on the ground beside Hehua, sorting vegetables harvested from their own fields.
Though it was already late autumn, the climate here was noticeably different from Ling Feng’s hometown. The temperature remained higher, leaving the mountains and fields still lush and green, with crops continuing to thrive.
When Little Lian caught sight of Zhao Sanquan and Ling Feng arriving, she paused, surprised: "Wow, Sanquan, you really went all out, bringing an old ham?"
"Ling Feng’s a distinguished guest, so naturally, he deserves the best. This is a three-year-aged ham I’ve stored!" Zhao Sanquan replied.
"My goodness, this must be worth nearly a thousand bucks!" Little Lian exclaimed in awe, then turned to Ling Feng with a grin. "You’ll be eating well today!"
"Really? Isn’t this just a pig’s hind leg?" Ling Feng asked, bewildered.
"Obviously, you’re not a local. Sure, it’s pig meat, but once it’s prepared, you’ll see just how good it tastes!"
Little Lian said, taking the ham from Zhao Sanquan and carrying it to the kitchen.
Ling Feng and the old man went inside, where He Ping’an was already seated upright, his complexion looking normal—entirely unlike the sickly state from the morning.
"Ling Divine Doctor, you’re here! Please, sit!"
"Uncle He, you’re being too kind—it was just a simple treatment, no need for a special meal!" Ling Feng said with a smile.
"Divine Doctor, please don’t say that. A small effort from you was a lifeline for me—a debt I can never repay!"
He Ping’an chuckled as he pushed forward tea and a fruit platter.
"Try these. All of them are grown here on the mountains—you won’t find these delicacies anywhere else!" Zhao Sanquan said.
"Is that so?"
Ling Feng, being well-traveled, had tasted plenty of fine things. But taking a sip of the golden tea in the cup, he froze, then exclaimed, "This is so fragrant!"
"Isn’t it? Such a shame there’s too little of this tea. If we had more, selling it outside might fetch hundreds a pound!" Zhao Sanquan boasted proudly.
Ling Feng chuckled softly. He’d sampled excellent teas during his time with Chu Nan and Wang Laogen, where even lesser varieties fetched hundreds per ounce.
Still, he kept this to himself; pointing it out would only embarrass Zhao Sanquan and make him feel naive.
Instead, Ling Feng turned to He Ping’an, "Uncle He, is this tea truly so rare?"
"Absolutely. There’s just one tea tree growing precariously on a mountain cliff. No one dares to climb up—it’s far too risky!" He Ping’an said.
"How dangerous can it be? Leaving such good tea untouched—what a waste!"
Ling Feng’s interest was piqued. He figured that since idle time was plentiful, why not venture into the mountains and gather some tea leaves himself? At least he’d have a unique local souvenir to bring back.
