The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 1041: The Swindler

Chapter 1041: The Swindler

Having followed the vehicle for such a long distance, it was clearly not an option to stay on the bus and refuse to get off. Thus, despite their suspicions, the tourists disembarked one after another.

Ah Wei had a loudspeaker with him and was holding a small red flag: "Dear tourists, please follow me, the entrance to the scenic area is not far ahead, do not get separated from the group!"

Ling Feng looked at Chen Yan: "Is the Great Wall scenic area really this shabby?"

"Uh, I also feel something’s strange," said Chen Yan.

"What’s so strange? Let’s hurry up, now that we’re here, who else should we listen to if not the guide?"

Yang Guang spoke up as he walked along with a bag full of water and snacks.

Ling Feng and the others had no choice but to follow, joining the group of over thirty tourists as they walked into the mountains.

The farther they walked, the more remote it became; the original concrete road had turned into a narrow winding path. Ling Feng was finally certain that he had been duped!

He had never heard of a scenic spot that couldn’t even afford to maintain its roads.

In the past, he had seen news reports of tourists crowding the Great Wall during the Golden Week. Could it be that they all ascended from such narrow paths? Impossible!

Realizing this, Ling Feng couldn’t help but smile bitterly to himself, thinking that indeed you get what you pay for. The very first time joining a tour group and he had been fleeced!

While walking, he took out his phone to check his location on the map and ascertain where they were.

To his surprise, his phone had no signal!

"Damn it, how remote is this place that there’s not even a signal?" exclaimed Ling Feng.

Hearing his exclamation, the other tourists also took out their phones, all wearing the same surprised expressions.

"This is the outskirts of Capital City, and there are attractions nearby. It’s not possible for there to be no signal!" Yang Guang said as he walked.

Ling Feng looked at her: "Didn’t you see? My phone really has no signal!"

"It’s simple. Someone doesn’t want you all to use your phones or go online, so they’ve jammed the signal!" said Yang Guang.

"Huh?"

These words reminded Ling Feng and he paused, immediately raising his head to look at Ah Wei.

Leading the group was not his sole responsibility; there was also the driver, and two young men.

The remaining three claimed to be from the travel agency to help out, but their nonchalant demeanor made Ling Feng feel there was more to it!

Especially one of the young men, who had a large square backpack on him, it was unclear what it contained.

With a sweep of his Divine Sense, Ling Feng immediately discovered that it was a piece of electronic equipment inside!

So, he looked down at Yang Guang: "Well done, you guessed it!"

"Child’s play. This kind of scam is not at all sophisticated. Just wait, they’ll soon start trying to sell us something!" said Yang Guang with an air of experienced wisdom.

Right at that moment, someone pointed at a mountain peak and shouted, "Look, the Great Wall!"

People turned to look and saw a segment of grey wall on the mountain peak.

Seeing this, the tourists who had been somewhat doubtful instantly relaxed, cheered, and began taking photos with their phones.

Meanwhile, Ling Feng took the opportunity to lock onto the signal jammer with his Divine Sense!

"Crack! Crack!"

Inside the device, a burst of electric sparks flashed, and the machine immediately short-circuited, stopping its operation.

At that moment, Ling Feng’s phone signal had already been restored, and it was at full bars!

"These guys really are up to no good!"

Ling Feng cursed under his breath and turned on his phone’s navigation.

Upon locating his position, he discovered they were in a village called Xiao Bei Zhuang, situated deep within the mountains, extremely remote, and there wasn’t even a single scenic spot within dozens of miles of the area!

"Sure enough, we’ve been had, this isn’t the real Great Wall at all!" Ling Feng turned to Chen Yan and said.

"What should we do then? Shall we go back?" Chen Yan asked.

Ling Feng looked at her: "We’ve come out at least dozens of kilometers, walk back?"

"That’s true. These bastards are too despicable, I’m going to make them pay!" Chen Yan gritted her teeth and said.

"No rush, if it’s just about cheating us out of eighty yuan per ticket, these guys aren’t really pros. It’s not worth dealing with them." Ling Feng said with a wry smile.

At this time, other tourists discovered the signal had returned and started checking their locations just like Ling Feng.

Upon finding the clues, one tourist asked aloud: "Hey, where have you brought us? This isn’t the scenic area at all!"

Ah Wei was startled upon hearing this and turned to look at the backpacker next to him.

The backpacker immediately took out his phone to look, and his face changed color.

"What’s going on? You tricked us?"

"I was wondering why it was so remote, what on earth is this place!"

"Scammers, why did you bring us to this godforsaken place?"

The tourists started to clamor, none willing to continue following Ah Wei and his group.

But Ah Wei himself didn’t panic at all, just smiled and said: "I told you I’d take you to see the Great Wall, I never specified which scenic spot. Besides, eighty yuan per person, I provided both the vehicle and the manpower, what more do you want?"

"That’s still fraud, and I’m going to report you!" someone shouted.

"Report me? Go ahead, hurry up and do it, do you think I’m scared?" Ah Wei said with a sneer.

Everyone was stunned for a moment, not expecting him to be so unbothered. Even Ling Feng found it odd, was this guy really not afraid of being sued?

"We’ve been scammed, this is just a rogue guide. Everything before was just verbal promises, even if we reported him, he wouldn’t face much of a punishment," Chen Yan said, looking down at her phone.

"But we can at least get a refund, right?" Ling Feng asked.

Chen Yan looked down at the screen, then shook her head: "This seems very troublesome, even if he just takes us back, the round-trip fare is worth this price!"

"So what’s he aiming for?" Ling Feng continued.

"Online, it says these schemes usually involve being taken to a wild part of the Great Wall and then forcing tourists to spend during the tour. The ticket might be tens of yuan, but unless you buy their goods worth hundreds or thousands, don’t even think about returning unless you walk off on your own!" Chen Yan said, biting her lip.

Ling Feng rolled his eyes, speechless.

At that moment, Ah Wei piped up: "Stop arguing, are you going to see the Great Wall or not?"

"No, we don’t even know where this is, who knows if that Great Wall is something you built yourself!"

"Right, we’re not going, take us back!"

The tourists were all angrily shouting, all demanding to be returned to the Capital City.

Ah Wei nodded: "Alright, it’s my side that messed up today, so let’s keep things simple and take you all back home."

After saying that, he turned around with his three accomplices and walked back.

Ling Feng felt that things weren’t so simple and muttered with a low chuckle, "This guy definitely has other tricks up his sleeve!"

As expected, after everyone got on the bus, the debates and cursing didn’t stop, but Ah Wei and the other three acted as if they heard nothing!

Then the driver suddenly turned back and said: "The car’s broken down!"

"What!"

All of the people were stunned!

Could it really be a coincidence that the car broke down at this time?
