The Forgotten Billionaire

Chapter 105

Chapter 105

As we stepped inside, he grasped Randle’s hand. He no longer spoke to me, even in the car, which made me sad. I really didn’t want to bother him any longer since he already thought too much, and I didn’t want to add to it. When I thought about him, it got much worse in his eyes. I came to a halt because tears were welling up in my eyes. I felt as though something was stuck in my throat and I couldn’t get it out. I didn’t feel good anymore, and I believed things were getting worse. My heart ached further as he walked up the steps and still didn’t look at me. My throat was parched, and I couldn’t say what I needed to him.

He gazed at me as I wept. Because of what he was doing, I couldn’t stop sobbing. In the recent days, my mood swings had been changing, and I could easily become irritated with Randle or Randall. Every morning, vomiting visited me, and I had an idea why, but I didn’t want to tell him until we had settled our situation with Helena and Archer. When everything was in order, I wanted to tell him this blessing news. I turned away from them, wiping the tears from my cheek. Perhaps they didn’t need me anymore, and they could be just the two of them.

As I approached the door, a hand clutched my waist and refused to let go. Because of what he had done, tears welled up in my eyes. When I took it off, he kissed my brow and sniffed the top of my head. My tears spilled even more with each movement. I knew I had nothing to worry about, but what if they went so suddenly? What if, one day, when I opened my eyes, they weren’t there? I was terrified.

“I apologize. I did not intend to harm you. I care about your safety and do not wish to hurt you. However, I am afraid of the situation with Archer. I am familiar with his capabilities, and he is not considerate of anyone he may encounter. He only prioritizes himself and his mother. I strongly advise you to remain at home until I have obtained more information about the current circumstances. I am worried about both Randle and you.” As he finished speaking, he embraced me, and Randle joined in the embrace. I nodded in agreement with his words. “Additionally, I have taken steps to increase our security measures to prevent any incidents like those we experienced in our previous residence.”

My phone rang as we hugged, so I hurriedly grabbed it, hoping for news of the woman. I had anticipated a little because it was only lunchtime, but when I saw who was calling, I returned Randle to his father and answered the phone. Randall and I exchanged glances as I listened to the voice on the other end of the call. I also activated the loudspeaker so that Randall could hear what we were saying and handle the matter. I put the phone between us and began listening to what was on the other end of the line.

“We have the woman with us now, Mrs. Adams, and she has consented to come with us. We are just waiting for you to inform us where you would like to speak with her - at the police station or your residence.” Hearing this, my heart was filled with excitement, and I never thought it would be this easy.

I smiled at Randall, who had seemed confused. I hadn’t told him about it, and I didn’t believe Ava had informed him about what had happened.

“I’ll take her to our place, and we’ll talk to her about her plans,” I said, ending the call abruptly, since they knew where to go.

As I placed my phone back in my bag, I noticed Randall waiting for an explanation. I embraced him and assured him that everything would be perfect soon. I explained we wouldn’t have to worry about anything, and we’d be happy in no time. Although he didn’t ask, it seemed like he was waiting for me to disclose everything.

I had told him that the woman we had been waiting for would be the solution to discovering who was truly responsible for everything. I had explained how I had discovered CCTV footage and details about his mother, and he had listened quietly. With everything ending, life would have been much easier for me, and my joy was indescribable. Just as I had finished telling him everything, the woman I had been waiting for had arrived. When the police finally showed up, I had felt as happy as a child reunited with their parents.

When the woman came down, I thanked her by hugging her and she seemed shy of what I had done, and when I broke with the hug, I uttered the words I wanted to say to her.

“I appreciate your cooperation. Just tell me what you want, and I’ll give it to you.”
