The Fake Heiress Turns out to Be a True Tycoon!

Chapter 1276: Extra: Magnolia Hearne & Luca Jennings

Chapter 1276: Extra: Magnolia Hearne & Luca Jennings

Magnolia Hearne’s intuition has always been very accurate, whether as a mother or as a wife.

So that night, as they were getting ready for bed, the moment Luca Jennings’ phone on the bedside table lit up, she sensed something was off.

Luca Jennings is a meticulous and responsible person, and even when he’s busy, he would always glance at messages on his phone.

Just like at this moment, Luca picked up the phone, glanced at it for a moment, then turned off the screen and put it down, intending to cuddle back to sleep with his wife, but Magnolia suddenly sat up,

"Turn your head towards me."

Luca didn’t understand why, but as if he had suddenly thought of something, he pushed his gold-rimmed glasses up and sat up, looking at her.

Magnolia reached out, directly took off his glasses, and then intensely stared at his face.

One second, two seconds.

Luca was still confused, then saw the person in front of him suddenly cross her arms, squinting her eyes, looking at him with a very complex expression, then said something quite familiar.

She said,

"You’re done for; you have bad romance luck."

Luca: ...

The reason it sounded familiar was because back then, when he went to pick up Scarlett after her variety recording ended, the recording guest’s first words to him were that he had bad romance luck and a tendency to attract troublesome people.

And sure enough, later on, there was that incident where Odessa invited him out alone.

Even now, thinking about that incident still makes him feel uneasy.

After Magnolia came back, he had everyone who knew about it at the time seal their lips.

He just didn’t want Magnolia to find out that he had anything to do with Odessa and Michael Jennings’ divorce.

Luca always thought he hid it well, but little did he know that Magnolia had already known. However, because she trusted Luca and Odessa had been abroad for the past two years, she pretended not to know.

But now, upon hearing "bad romance luck," Luca’s first reaction was to think of Odessa.

If he remembered correctly, recently his brother returned from a monastery and casually mentioned that Odessa was coming back to the country.

Could it be her again?

Thinking of this, Luca’s gaze turned a bit sharp for a moment.

In that split second, he even thought of at least five ways to force her to stay abroad and never come back.

Though this might cause Ismeria some grievance, not being able to see her mother again.

But his niece has grown up; she should be able to understand the divorce.

As thoughts swirled in Luca’s mind, Magnolia just quietly watched the changes on his face, squinted her eyes again, and asked,

"Luca, who are you thinking about?"

Pausing, she asked with a playful smile,

"Or maybe too many people popped into your head at once, and you’re not sure which one is your ’bad romance’?"

The implication was that he had affairs outside, and many of them!

Upon hearing this, Luca felt a chill down his spine; this moment felt even more pressuring than when Scarlett pointed out his bad romance luck back in the day.

But after so many years of calm and collected experience, Luca almost immediately, with a firm denial,

"No!"

All these years, there has only been her.

Even when she wasn’t around those years, he’d never been with anyone else.

This was serious, and he had to clarify.

"Rather than romance issues, I might be dealing with troublesome people."

Luca insisted that he had no romantic entanglements, just people causing him trouble.

"I’ll ask Scarlett to draw me an Anti-backstabbing Talisman tomorrow."

After saying this, Luca felt that tomorrow was too late and thought about drawing it tonight instead.

As he was about to get out of bed, Magnolia grabbed his head to turn him back, deliberately asking,

"Are you feeling guilty and trying to run?"

Luca suddenly felt like he had been wrongfully imprisoned for years, frowned, opened his mouth anxiously to explain, but stopped as he caught a fleeting mischievous glint in Magnolia’s eyes.

Soon followed by helplessness,

"Magnolia, stop messing around."

She clearly knew he was innocent, yet she insisted on teasing him.

Magnolia, having been caught out, still pretended to be angry and aggrieved, "You have affairs outside, and you turn around and say I’m messing around?"

Seeing her unwilling to let it go, Luca’s gaze deepened and decided not to get out of bed.

With a slight force, he flipped her beneath him.

Looking at her, his voice was low and hoarse,

"You know there’s no one else; don’t deliberately tease me."

Otherwise, he could only prove himself with actions.

Magnolia looked up at the man whose charm only seemed to grow with age, her heart fluttering yet unwilling to yield,

"Can’t win with words, so you resort to force, so domineering, no wonder you attract trouble."

Luca was rendered speechless by her words, deciding to stop explaining, leaning in to silence her manually.

But just before his lips could touch down, Magnolia pressed against his chest to stop him from getting closer.

Her face no longer showed the mischief from earlier, but instead, she asked,

"Don’t you want to know who your ’bad romance’ is?"

Saying so, without waiting for Luca to speak, she raised her eyebrows, gesturing towards the bedside with her chin,

"Who just texted you?"

With his wife’s hint, Luca’s mood shifted to serious at once, sweeping away the earlier flirtatious atmosphere. He glanced briefly in the direction of the phone, sat up, and spoke seriously,

"It’s not possible."

"Nothing is impossible," Magnolia said, "my intuition is never wrong."

To say the least, just when she sensed something unusual, she detected the bad romance luck in Luca’s appearance, and that connection has explained everything.

But Luca picked up the phone, showing the chat page from earlier openly to Magnolia.

"This girl is only twenty-four, a student sponsored by our company. This year she was selected as an outstanding representative of sponsored students to enter the company, showing great potential."

In all these years around Luca, there weren’t any young girls trying to get close to him whose intentions he couldn’t see through, nor did he give any of them the chance to approach.

But this scholarship representative...

It’s not that he doesn’t want to believe she has other intentions towards him; it’s that he doesn’t want to believe a girl who has worked hard to rise from the countryside and has the opportunity to step into a larger world would forsake her lifelong learning and choose such a narrow path.

However, Luca deeply trusts Magnolia’s capabilities.

If what Magnolia says turns out to be true, he would be very disappointed in the girl.

There’s nothing more to say.

Being with Luca for many years, even though separated at times, Magnolia understands exactly what kind of person he is.

Thus, hearing recognition and praise for the girl from his mouth, instead of feeling jealous, she instantly grasped the disappointment in Luca’s tone.

It’s the disappointment of an elder towards a younger person.

No longer playfully teasing him, Magnolia simply snuggled close, gently wrapping her arms around his waist, and comforted,

"It’s just a bad romance; pluck it away, and it’ll be fine. The young girl just needs a bit of correcting."

Speaking so, she tilted her head to give him a light peck on the cheek and then playfully demanded,

"Call me sweetheart, and your wife will handle it for you."
