The Evil Lord's Wife Has Spirit Blood

Chapter 393

Chapter 393

"Well, I’ll start it up," Lucas decided after seeing that Michelle was able to somehow move around a bit while getting hit by the shots from the first machine.

"I’ll start it up weaker, so it doesn’t kill you even if a few of them hit you," he added.

Michelle didn’t even respond to that, focused on staying upright in the handstand position.

She had already been like that for so long, her palms had blisters on them.

But, luckily, having extreme healing abilities thanks to the Spirit Soul Blood made it so the blisters didn’t get too bad.

But, at the same time, it had one disadvantage.

If she kept doing handstands regularly, without the Spirit Soul Blood healing efficiency, the blisters would slowly reform into hardened skin, so she would slowly have an easier time doing it.

But with the healing efficiency of Spirit Soul Blood, her palms would remain soft forever; so if she ever needed for some reason to do handstands for a prolonged time again, she would get the blisters again.

It wasn’t that much of a bad thing, but it could definitely be annoying.

Well, but at the moment, Michelle didn’t have the time to care about that.

Her full focus was on resisting the strikes and preparing herself for the moment Lucas started up the second machine.

Because from what she knew about him, he would wait a while by the machine before starting it up suddenly, taking her by surprise.

So she had to be prepared at all times.

And Lucas did just that.

He waited for a while before finally dropping the spirit stone into the machine after he had aligned it with Michelle’s current position.

Instantly, the machine shot a singular ball of spirit energy.

And that thing flew at Michelle fast.

Quickly, she stepped back (if it could be called that since she was on her hands) in an attempt to evade the attack.

But that thing wasn’t just fast; it was much faster than she had expected.

So though she did move out of its way, the edge of it grazed her side, making her hiss.

The spirit stone Lucas put in was of the fire element, so it burned, and it was also a counter element to her own ice element; so it was greatly torturing.

The spirit stone in the first machine was also of the fire element, but those were much weaker (which meant also colder), so Michelle could bear with that.

She was basically already used to it.

But that strike from the second machine burned even when it just grazed her.

And she was sure it had burned a hole into the side of her clothes.

"I’ll leave you to it for now. In about an hour, I’ll be back to turn it up to the max. And if you wish, I could also add a second machine like that to it." Lucas spoke like he was talking about the weather.

Without waiting for a response from Michelle, Lucas just left, leaving her alone (with the little snake).

The little snake also wasn’t being very calm.

Through the contract it had with Michelle, it could feel that she got hurt, and that made it very restless.

It stopped its training and crawled over to her, wrapping around her wrist.

Michelle momentarily looked down at the snake, but she had to turn her head up again because she heard the second machine shooting at her again.

This time, she reacted quicker and moved further, so even the heated air around the ball of spirit energy wouldn’t touch her.

She didn’t want to be burned again.

But she didn’t expect that as she moved, the first machine (to whose shooting she had mostly been used) shot two strong shots at her at once, forcing her back to her original spot just as the shot from the second machine got there.

"Ah—" Michelle let out a groan, feeling the nasty burn.

It splayed over the whole side of her waist, stinging and itching like crazy.

And there was also the dull ache from being hit, because it had the force of a good punch.

Actually, when the strike connected, she nearly fell down from the impact.

"Uh... That burns..." she complained into the empty space.

"That burns like hell..."

But she didn’t even have the time to complain because there were more strikes to dodge.

The one thing she learned from the initial strike was that being able to stay stable under the strong strikes from the first machine wasn’t enough.

She needed to be unmovable or, even better, be able to move against them.

So, when she heard another strike from the second machine get launched, she just started walking forward, refusing to let the strikes from the first machine push her back.

But, well, just the fact that she understood what to do didn’t mean she could do it right away.

Before she could do it, she received five more strikes to her side, some full, some grazes.

And one of the grazes actually felt worse than a full‑on strike.

That one graze went behind her back so close it burned the whole back of her waist, stinging like hell on quite a big area.

But after that, Michelle was finally able to dodge the attacks nearly all the time.

So, the rest of the time, she just kept moving through the strikes of the first machine to dodge the strikes of the second machine.

After something over an hour, Lucas came back.

"I see you are holding up well!" he said, thinking Michelle was barely hurt.

Because though there were parts burned away in her shirt, specifically the waist area, the wounds were nearly gone, leaving behind only a few flushed areas and a few grazes.

So it seemed like all the strikes she received actually just grazed by her clothes and burned them away.

Michelle didn’t plan on correcting Lucas’ assumption.

Letting the fact that she had extreme healing abilities be known to anyone (even someone like Lucas who was trustworthy) was risky.

Lucas went over to the second machine and added a second spirit stone to it and a third one to put it to max power.

The blast that it started shooting could be potentially deadly to Michelle if she got struck a few times one after the other.

But, at the moment, the machine wasn’t yet dangerous.

Because Lucas could make the spirit energy balls fly at the target (Michelle) faster.

Michelle really didn’t want to be shot with the improved strikes; those would be literal fireballs.

But Lucas didn’t care about her opinion.

From the start he said he would set the machine to the highest setting.

After cranking up the second machine, Lucas watched Michelle for a while.

"Should I set up a second machine like that? At different shooting intervals?"

Michelle didn’t answer to that.

She knew Lucas already had an answer in mind.

In fact, even him suggesting putting up a new machine meant he already had all the materials with him and was prepared to put it up.

And Michelle’s assumption was right.

Lucas walked to her other side, getting a bit of a distance from her to set up a new machine.

"This will take a while, so you have about half an hour to get used to that machine," he lazily motioned to the machine that he had just cranked up, even though he knew Michelle wasn’t even looking at him.

And she probably wasn’t even listening to him at the moment, focusing on the fireballs shooting at her.

So, Lucas did his things, while Michelle did hers, and the little snake remained around her wrist, watching her expression closely.

It had stopped its own training so it could check on Michelle.

It was clearly worried about her since it knew the fire element was her counter element.

A while later, in the middle of the shooting, Michelle got hit again, having overheard that another strike had been shot at her.

In full force, it hit her side, knocking her down.

Holding back a curse, she propped herself up to see what state her waist was in.

And it looked terrible.

Her whole side was burned, with nasty blisters forming.

Seeing Michelle on the ground, Lucas lifted a brow.

"No slacking off! Get up!" he wasn’t worried that she would be seriously hurt.

But he was like that only because he didn’t know Michelle possessed the ice element spirit energy.

Ice element Spirit Masters were very vulnerable to the fire element, so he would have at least come over to check on her.

Still, Michelle was glad he didn’t come over.

If he did come over, he would see the burn on her side.

And then, later, when it healed, he would also notice that, and that would make him suspicious about her physique.

Because there weren’t that many physiques that made someone have such extreme healing abilities.

So, Michelle got up (also because she knew that if she stayed down, that would just be inviting another fireball to strike her) and got into the area where the first, weaker machine was shooting.

But with the blister on her side, even that hurt terribly.
