The Devil Doctor's Spicy Love

Chapter 502: Birthday agreement

Chapter 502: Birthday agreement

Jia looked left. Then right.Left. Then right again.

"You should be looking at the birthday boy," his deep voice sent a tickle within her.

She closed in and whispered. "How could I look at you when everyone else is looking at me? First of all, I am still in my uniform."

He grinned. "Seeing you in your uniform is my secret fetish, Spicy~"

"..."

She ignored that and continued. "Then I also need a shower."

His black eyes glistened with mischief. He approached closer, his lips hovering at the edges of her ear.

"Shall we head to the bathroom right away?"

His warm, slow breath passed across the nape of her neck, teasing the fine hair on it. It cascaded through her left arm, filling up her chest like a small balloon puffing up with air.

"Eyes unfocused, labored breathing, trembling fingers - Shall Dr. Yang make a diagnosis?"

It was a treacherous journey, but she tore herself from the lure of his seductive voice.

"A-Also, Aunt just..." she gulped.

"Mom?" He arched his brow. "What?"

She looked stunned. "Did you not hear her? She declared me as her daughter-in-law in front of everyone..!"

"And is there a problem with it?"

Wait. Hold on. Is he...

Is he proposing to me right now?

The cop Jia took over but couldn’t get a definite answer. But her trance snapped like a thread in two when he pulled her waist closer. His fingers pressed more firmly as if the current proximity was far from enough.

"I really want to kiss you right now."

She cleared her throat. "You cannot. Guests are here."

"So? You have already bagged the daughter-in-law status. What’s the harm in being lovey-dovey a little?"

"D-Don’t say bag like I’m some gold digger," she coughed.

"But you are a heart digger though~"

She peered into his eyes that twinkled in the chandelier light. His chuckle sounded free and unabashed like he had no care in the world.

"I am really sorry for being late," she pursed her lips. "I made you and everyone wait for so long but even more than that, it’s your birthday..." her shoulders began to sag.

"If you really think something like this is enough to make me angry then I need to teach you some lessons about my personality," he shrugged.

Her gaze dropped next. "I know you don’t care much about parties and celebrations. But to me, it was your first together...well after what happened," she looked away, slightly embarrassed. "I wanted to enjoy the evening with you just like everyone else."

"Aren’t we enjoying the evening?"

Jia looked at the time that showed ten forty-four.

"It’s very late."

"But you are here," he tilted his head. "What else matters?"

A thump rippled across her heart, bringing a faint pink on her cheeks.

He is really bad for my heart...

"But if you are feeling so guilty, you could make up for it. Sleep in my room tonight~" the devil was quick to grab this chance of guilt and heavy remorse.

Her lips parted and closed and eventually, a helpless chuckle escaped.

"Okay."

Mingshen froze. "Really?"

"Yeah."

"...Really, really?" he squinted.

"What other meaning does the word really have anyway?" She blinked.

He stared more acutely. "Sleep with me also includes sex."

Her brow twitched. "I am..I am not that naive, Mingshen. But I am not going to tie myself with a ribbon all naked like you boys gossiped."

"You actually agreed..."

"Why are you so shocked?" She was dumbfounded. "Seriously, the things that take you by surprise and the things that don’t really surprise me a whole lot even now."

"I thought sleeping in one room was a big no-no."

"When did I say that?"

"You have always thrown me out of your room before," he pouted.

"..."

"That was before things advanced between us, Mingshen. Why would I let my arch enemy share my bed?"

His lips went sheepish. "Arch enemy? Then what am I to you now?"

She cleared her throat again. "I-I will say that when I give your gift."

"You can give it now!" He beamed.

"No way! It will be private," she sweated.

I would kill myself than reveal it in front of the whole world.

"Can I kiss you now, Spicy?"

"No."

"But it’s my birthday."

"You can do whatever you want once we are in the room."

His eyes narrowed. "We are heading upstairs right away."

"The celebration is still going on and I won’t allow you to end it abruptly."

He was clearly not onboard with this decision and clicked his tongue in protest, one she ignored blatantly.

Meanwhile from a distance, Lihua watched the two dancing and whispering and chuckling. She approached Huojin, busy gobbling down a whole host of exquisite starters.

"Tell me the truth."

"Aye?" He raised a brow while a sausage hung half out of his lips.

"Evil doctor and sis..."

He took a look. "Yeah, they are dancing."

"Are they only dancing or am I feeling something more between them?"

"More?"

"More than dancing."

"Of course you will feel that. Love is in the aiiiiiirrr~"

Lihua’s hand flew to her chest "Lo-Love what?"

"Loooooovveeeeee. That you and Wei have between you. Your in-laws have. Mingshen’s parents too."

She stumbled back as if a mountain had crashed upon her. "Th-That’s impossible...Evil doctor is sis’s enemy!!"

"Have you not read enemies to lovers trope?"

"..."

"B-But he had locked her in his lab once upon a time!" Her nostrils flared.

"Now he has locked her inside his heart~" he grinned.

Lihua took the rest of the sausage and stuffed it down his throat till there was no space left to breathe.

"Mu-Murder...Murder in broad evening light...!"

"Shut up!" She cried. "I will never accept evil doctor as my brother-in-law! I had wanted a prince charming for her..." she sobbed.

Huojin somehow swallowed the giant sausage and exhaled in relief.

"What do you know, prince charming is old school. Devils are more popular in the market nowadays."

"Y-You knew it from way before but didn’t tell me! Traitor!"

"Oh. My bad. I should have warned you so that you could have prepared your heart for this evening," he scratched his chin.

Her chest puffed up. "Well, you have been useless, thank you very much."

"Heyyyy that’s rude. I had a significant involvement in being their cupid," he expressed his grievances.

She gasped. "You aided this whole thing!?"

"Coz it was soooooo fun and finally Jia’s sad, single life is done and dusted," he smirked. "All thanks to me."

A cold, lethal smile curved her lips. "How benevolent. But worry not. First I will deal with the evil doctor and then...it will be your turn."
