Chapter 145: Special Metal!
Chapter 145: Special Metal!
"Damn..."
"Is this some high-end bike?"
Lin Fan muttered under his breath.
"Sorry, Traveller Brother... I’ll return it. I promise."
His eyes sharpened. He leaned forward and pedalled harder.
’Faster.’
He had to reach there first.
That meteorite—it had to be his.
---
High above, Su Mo watched quietly.
His invisible force subtly guided the bicycle. He had used his magnetic control technique to assist Lin Fan.
This allowed Lin Fan to move faster than he normally could.
There’s no other way; Lin Fan’s competitor for the meteorite wasn’t just that butcher.
Without his help, this protagonist’s speed might get him there only after everything’s over.
After a brief glance at him, Su Mo shifted his focus toward the forest.
"Miss Yang," he said, "did you sense that?"
Yang Qingxi was already looking in the same direction. Her gaze had turned serious.
"...Yes."
"There are many life signatures."
She paused.
"Except for one... most of them are cultivators."
In a way, this was her first confrontation with another group of cultivators.
Her instincts sharpened.
"They must all be here for that meteorite," she added.
Then something occurred to her. Her eyes shifted slightly toward Lin Fan below. "Don’t you think it’s strange?"
"What is?" Su Mo asked.
"Look at him," she said. "He seems completely confident... as if, as long as he gets there first, the meteorite will be his." She paused. "Do you think he can take it from those cultivators?"
Su Mo thought for a moment before replying. "It’s not that strange. In his original plot, it’s possible that this Butcher Deng obtained the meteorite and rose because of it." He continued calmly, "After rebirth, Lin Fan already knows where the opportunity lies in that meteorite. All he has to do is take it before anyone else."
Yang Qingxi understood his meaning. "That explains his confidence. He must have assumed that only the Butcher was his competitor for the meteorite."
After a silence, she said quietly. "But this isn’t a fixed story anymore."
Su Mo nodded. "Indeed, it’s a mixed world now. Lin Fan isn’t the only protagonist, and the plot direction isn’t fixed." After a brief pause, he added, "That might be why your system stopped giving you plot summaries. Because the plots of various protagonists may overlap, ruining their original plots."
Yang Qingxi remained silent for a moment before nodding. "That makes sense."
Still, it made her disappointed, thinking that they would not have the readers’ omniscient advantage anymore.
"Let’s get there first and watch the show." Su Mo suggested.
Yang Qingxi agreed, and they used their spiritual energy to speed up.
Below them, Lin Fan sped forward on the bicycle, cutting through the road toward the forest. Ahead, the shadows of Yanshan grew deeper, and within that darkness, the fallen meteorite had already begun to draw in forces from all directions.

The first to arrive were Su Mo and Yang Qingxi. As they descended from above, the forest’s calm quickly gave way to the aftermath of destruction from the meteor crash.
Trees had been crushed and uprooted, their trunks broken along the path of impact as if something immense had simply forced its way through without resistance. At the center of it all lay a crater, roughly ten meters in diameter, its edges jagged and scorched.
In the middle of the crater rested the meteorite. About half a meter in size, its surface glowed faintly red, with cracks that released waves of heat into the air. It sizzled softly, like molten lava that had only just begun to cool, distorting the surrounding air with rising heat.
Su Mo observed it with interest. "Looks hot."
Yang Qingxi glanced at him and said, "With the speed of the approaching life signatures, they’ll be here in about three minutes."
"Yeah, yeah. I know. Stop urging me," Su Mo replied casually, though his eyes had already shifted focus.
The ’Devil’s Eyes’, activated.
His gaze sharpened as his Insight Ability unfolded, quietly analysing the meteorite. The surrounding world seemed to dim slightly in his perception as information surfaced.
[Silver Meteorite:A special metal from outer space that feeds on blood. It can strengthen its host.]
Su Mo didn’t look deeper. There wasn’t enough time, and the basic description was already enough to understand its value. A faint smile appeared on his face.
"It’s a good thing."
Without hesitation, he raised his hand slightly. An invisible force gathered as his magnetic control technique activated. The meteorite trembled briefly before lifting into the air. Despite the intense heat, Su Mo didn’t need to touch it at all. Suspended within the invisible magnetic field, it was directly guided into his storage ring.
The entire process was smooth.
At the same time, a notification echoed in Yang Qingxi’s mind.
[Ding!]
[By taking away the Silver Meteorite, you have plundered the luck of Destiny Protagonist Lin Fan and Destiny Protagonist ???]
[Lin Fan’s Luck: -1500]
[???’s Luck: -1500]
[You have obtained 30,000 Luck Points]
Yang Qingxi’s gaze flickered slightly. She had expected the meteorite to be important, but this level of impact still surprised her. What drew her attention even more was the second protagonist—one whose identity remained unknown.
"Su Mo," she said quietly, "you were right. The plots of two protagonists are overlapping regarding this opportunity."
Su Mo glanced at her. "Your system prompted you?"
She nodded.
Su Mo fell into brief thought, his gaze lowering slightly as he processed the information. "...Is that so..." he murmured. If another protagonist was involved, then things were far from simple. This place would soon become far more complicated than expected.
"Guess we can’t leave it like this," he said softly, then turned to her. "Miss Yang, can you use your Sharp Stone Bullet Technique to create a rock about the same size as this meteorite?"
"Sure," Yang Qingxi replied without hesitation.
"Good. Then form it around this charm. Make sure it’s sealed tightly."
Su Mo took out a golden paper talisman, its surface covered with faintly glowing runes.
