Maya asks in a serious tone contrasting the playful tone before "Why are you helping me?"
Alex cracks up at her adorable way of acting serious and says sincerely "You protected me once. Now I return what I owe".
Maya creases her eyebrows "Why should I believe you?"
Alex chuckles softly and asks amused "Shouldn't you have asked it before gulping the soup from my hands?"
Maya blinks dumbfounded "..."
'I...didnt find any poison in it. But he doesn't know that I can sense poison. Still, why did I trust him? Even after he humiliated me in from of the people!'
But this man has his weird way to make people get mad and also calm. It's like he is a tyrant person when he does bad things for you and a kind man when he does good things for you. He is one weird person with surprising sides to him.
'Just because I saved his life, he is here to help me? He even brought hot soup for me! He doesn't look like the man who insulted me before!'
A gust of wind blows making her tremble in cold.
Maya gasps in shock as she doesn't think she could hold her will anymore. This hot bowl of soup made her crave for more too! It's tempting her to break the prison and walk out of this hell just to have another bowl of soup!
Alex notices her anxiety and adds "The Crown Prince had to meet the officials who support him and might issue a Decree soon. I never have seen him going personally before!"
Maya scoffs under her breaths "Of course he wouldn't have gone before. Out of nowhere, he will go now. Just to play a worried husband role! Wait... Do you work for him?!"
She looks at him in the alert.
Alex frowns displeased seeing her fear and decides to get in her good side "Not at all! Why would I work for a Royal?"
Seeing Maya's scrutinizing gaze, he adds displeased "And I don't like The Crown Prince too. I never told anyone this but since you are my life saviour there is nothing I would hide. Even though he is your husband I apologise to say this Lady... I just hate your husband! That's the reason for my previous misbehaviour. I did everything only because I hate him".
Maya nods as it makes sense now for his dislike about her but still interrogates "But you mention The Crown Prince without any honours. Why do I sense that's weird? The only people who can call the Royal without honours are ..their family".
Alex blinks dumbly "..."
'This Lady has a brain! I never thought I subconsciously left a hint! But she Did pay attention to my words!'
He clears his throat and asks excitedly "So, do you think I could be a Royal? A brother of The Crown Prince? Or another brother of Prince Xavier who kept hidden from these Realms?! My Goodness! I never thought I might be suspected this beautifully!-"
Maya is speechless "..."
'No! This man could never be Prince Xavier's brother! But his voice sounded good *sees Alex still bragging about himself annoyed* If I say this, he will fly in ecstasy! And I can't boost his ego!'
She smirks in her mind and waves her hand bored "I take back what I said. You can never be Prince Xavier's family! You just... can't his brother at all!"
Alex who was babbling in ecstasy now freezes "..."
'What's with this Lady?! I can't be Xav's brother?! I want to ask for my soup back! Such an ungrateful lady! She doesn't deserve my kindness! I Want My Soup Back! You unfaithful lady give me my soup which I made myself painstakingly!-'
Maya chuckles suddenly seeing his cute expression of being betrayed and scoffs "Your face makes me laugh! I apologize. But I can't help- Ha Ha!"
Alex is flabbergasted "..."
'She gets laughs by seeing my ugly face?! This is the face that everyone disgusts the most!! That's why I decided to disguise myself in this face so that everyone would dislike even my mere presence! But this Lady is laughing-'
Maya laughs so hard seeing his dumb face 'So silly!'
He is astonished as even his co officials would find it embarrassing to talk to him. He lived in this disguise for a few years now and this is the only time someone laughed seeing his face. And they are not laughs of humiliation!
Kalki would always be serious whenever around him but Maya's soft laughs made his heart warm immensely. And that's when his heartfelt something for the first time.
'She is my family now irrespective of Xander's decision. Who knows? My family would disgust seeing my face... She treats me..normally?
He forgives her comment of calling him ugly before. Of course, he was the one who provoked her first. Seeing her like this he realizes that comment of her calling him 'ugly' was just from her manipulating mind and not from her heart.
Alex asks looking her curiously "Why did you come forward? You could have allowed Prince Xavier to come instead".
As he has no idea why she agreed suddenly to get herself imprisoned if she can't survive the coldness.

Alex frowns and asks again "Why?"
Maya didn't answer even after Alex's insists 'I .. felt his eyes... Is that fear? Worry?... Forget it... I sensed his fear in his voice and his brother too said the word..again..so .. did he ever get imprisoned?! No! How could a Prince be imprisoned? But they imprisoned a Queen now...'
Alex asks impatiently as Maya's contemplating is killing his curiosity brutally "Why aren't you telling me?!"
