Chapter 629 - 125: Did you lie to me just now when you said you weren’t angry?_2

The car that was about to speed up now cruised at its usual pace instead.

Song Qiao’s company building was quickly reached, and it was nearing work hours, so many colleagues were returning from outside meals, bustling to and fro.

The black Bentley Mulsanne parked there had already caught quite a few gazes, with everyone guessing who the driver might be, but because it was close to work time, many didn’t linger.

Song Qiao was currently fuming. She had kindly gone to buy this man food and drink and had spoken to him in a low voice; he, on the other hand, was unappreciative, didn’t say a word to her, and acted as if he couldn’t care less about her, not even bothering to remind her when the car started moving.

If the lid of the coffee cup wasn’t securely fastened, she might have even ended up spilling it all over herself.

Just as she reached for her purse, intending to open the door, the man locked the doors in the instant her hand touched the handle.

Upon trying the handle and realizing what had happened, Song Qiao turned back and glared at him, her voice full of dissatisfaction, "Lu Jingchen, what are you doing? Open the door, I need to go to work... Mmm!"

Lu Jingchen glanced at her with a furiously flustered look and without another word, he leaned in quickly, grabbing the back of her head and sealing her incessantly moving lips with his own thin ones.

Song Qiao’s eyes widened in disbelief as the man in front of her pushed her against the car door, her fingers subconsciously clutching the front of his shirt.

Her eyes blinked, and her long eyelashes fluttered against the man’s face, causing a ticklish sensation.

Unlike the voracious kisses of the past that seemed as though he wanted to devour her, this time Lu Jingchen kissed her tenderly on the lips, and only for a short while before letting go.

Looking down at the blushing, slightly indignant little face before him, Lu Jingchen’s mood greatly improved. He brought his face close, his breath brushing over her skin, his tone imbued with a hint of gentle mirth, whispering softly, "Are you angry?"

The sound of his tender voice struck Song Qiao’s heart string by string, her fingers tightening reflexively as she spat out two words, not without strain, "Nope!"

How could she dare to be angry at him?

Lu Jingchen reached out to tuck a strand of her hair behind her ear, his whole body pressing closer, the gesture extremely intimate.

He gazed down at her palm-sized little face, its cheeks flushed with red from the kiss, and unable to resist, he lowered his head for another kiss before finally sitting up straight, pulling her up too, and in a voice as tender as a lover’s murmur, he apologized, "I was wrong just now, but that was because you made me unhappy. I’m sorry now."

Song Qiao was stunned, still in his embrace, and quickly pushed him away to put some distance between them. She fiddled awkwardly with her hair, and emphasized again, "I’m not angry, if there’s nothing else, I’m going to work now."

Since the car door lock remained unopened, she looked back at the man and, with a slight frown, spoke, "Lu Jingchen, can you unlock the door? I’m going to be late for work!"

Looking at her vexed little face, saying she wasn’t angry was probably false, right?

He didn’t immediately unlock the door but instead countered with a question, "What do I need to do for you to forgive me?"

Clearly, his tone was softer, but his attitude suggested that if she didn’t forgive him, he wouldn’t unlock the doors and let her out.

How could Song Qiao not realize this, she was upset, took a deep breath, and suppressed her emotions, "I’ve forgiven you, okay?"

Her tone bore a hint of perfunctoriness, she glanced at her watch; there were only ten minutes left before work time.

"So when you said you weren’t angry before, you were lying to me? So you really were angry earlier."

Song Qiao, "...Your granddad!"

"Lu Jingchen, are you going to open the door or not?" Song Qiao was on the verge of exploding, her voice laced with repression as she gritted her teeth, "I’m going to be late for work."

Not wanting to make it harder for her, knowing that Song Qiao didn’t generally have a bad temper but it still wouldn’t be good to truly anger her.

He unlocked the doors, and then Lu Jingchen finally asked, "Should I pick you up from work this afternoon?"

Song Qiao, pausing for a moment as she opened the car door, got out of the car and rejected his offer. Her tone was much softer, "No need, I’m going on location for a shoot this afternoon, so I probably won’t be at the office."

She said her piece, then walked towards the company’s entrance in her high heels.

Lu Jingchen watched Song Qiao’s retreating figure and couldn’t help chuckling lightly. His gaze then fell on the cup of coffee and a bag beside it.

The dropped sandwich on the ground had been picked up by her. Lu Jingchen picked up the bag and discovered there was another sandwich and bread inside, remembering that she seemed to have bought more than one sandwich.

He took out one of the sandwiches and examined it—it was his favorite flavor that he usually enjoyed. His eyes narrowed slightly, a smile on his face as he uttered four words, "Princess Pea!"

...

It was only after clocking in that Song Qiao could let out a sigh of relief, thankful she wasn’t late.

With a smile on her face and barely stepping into her department, not yet at her seat, she was stopped by someone blocking her way.

Frowning slightly at the girl blocking her path, Song Qiao halted, feeling the girl looked somewhat familiar but not recognizing her. Song Qiao asked indifferently, "Is there something?"
