Chapter 837: Bonus - 3
Chapter 837: Bonus - 3
Extra #5
After a long hiatus, Slater’s name exploded once more with the announcement of his upcoming album. For a while, Slater had gone quiet—even on his socials. But with just one post from him, the internet went wild.
Not when the post was just a baby’s very plump and fair hand.
[What?! Did he really get married and have a baby?!]
[Who stole my husband from me!?]
[Congratulations, Slater! We still love you so much!]
Different comments flooded his comment section, and even before the post reached the one-hour mark, his name had already taken the top trending thread. Theories about him, this so-called secret baby, and the mysterious secret wife slowly spread across the threads.
At this point, no one knew if this was a controversy or simply a brilliant promotion for Slater’s comeback.
His manager, James—who also owned the entertainment agency—slumped in his seat with distress etched across his face. He was supposed to be the owner of the company, but being Slater’s manager on top of managing his own company had become a double source of stress.
"I told him..." his voice trembled as he stared at the trending topics on his tablet. "...to make the post clearer if he was going to post it! What the hell is this caption?!"
It read:
[I will raise you properly.]
Meanwhile, in an exclusive country club in Anteca, Slater lounged idly in a chair. His eyes—despite being hidden behind dark sunglasses—could not hide the glee in them.
His thumb scrolled through the comments as he giggled at the uproar he was causing online.
Now the whole world knew of his niece’s very existence.
The corners of his lips curled upward, only for his brows to twitch when he saw a notification pop up at the top of his screen.
It was Penny’s almost-dead social media account.
His sister rarely posted anything, and she had only created the account years ago when the two of them had been tangled in a ridiculous "dating" scandal. Everyone had been malicious back then and assumed Penny was his secret girlfriend.
And since that so-called scandal, Penny had somehow gained quite a following because of him.
When Slater opened Penny’s latest post, his face twitched.
The photo was another picture of a baby’s hand, taken from a different angle.
The caption read:
[Welcome to this world, baby niece! Everyone, please welcome the newest addition to my first brother’s family!
Slater’s delusional.]
Quickly, Penny’s post was swarmed by Slater’s cult-like following, leaving a storm of comments under it.
"This girl...!" Slater ground his teeth as he sat up angrily, knowing Penny had done this on purpose. No—not to help clear things up.
She woke up today and chose violence.
"You asked for this," he scoffed, sitting upright and gripping his phone with both hands.
And with that posture alone, anyone who knew Slater would realize something serious was about to happen. After all, if there was one thing Slater was known for, it was being a fierce keyboard warrior.
But just as he began typing a long message to Penny’s direct messages—warning her about posting an ugly picture of her—he suddenly paused when he sensed someone standing beside him.
His brows knitted as he turned his head, only to see a woman standing nearby.
"Sorry, busy," he remarked. "I don’t give autographs."
But the woman simply blinked and tilted her head slightly, studying his face—and the rest of him—with a strangely neutral expression.
After a moment, she nodded and looked straight into his eyes.
"Ten minutes ago, I was kicked out of our company because, according to them, I’m a sociopathic bitch," she said without hesitation. "I was thinking about hiring a hitman or reporting my boss to the prosecutor’s office for his slush funds when I saw you."
"Uh?" Slater blinked, confused by the sudden story he never asked for.
"What do you think I should do?"
"Leave me?" Slater’s face twitched.
The woman considered it for a moment and nodded.
"But if I do, I’ll probably end up killing someone," she replied casually.
She then sat on the lounge chair beside him and faced him squarely.
"I’m clinging to the last bits of humanity I have left. Indulge me."
"I don’t care what you’re clinging to," Slater scoffed. "But I’m about to go to war."
He raised his phone and showed her the unfinished message addressed to Food Goddess, Penny’s username.
"Leave me alone!"
He clicked his tongue and swung his legs off the chair, annoyed at how casually she had invaded his personal space.
But just as he was about to leave, she spoke.
"That’s not how you threaten someone."
"Huh?"
His brows furrowed as he looked back at her. She raised her brows and tilted her head again.
"You might win that war, but not with that pathetic blackmail," she said before glancing at her watch.
"Distract me for thirty minutes." She paused and looked back up at him. "And in return, you’ll win against her in thirty minutes. Deal?"
Slater narrowed his eyes at her.
He didn’t question why this woman had been kicked out of her company. She definitely sounded like a sociopath.
But the thought of beating Penny at least once was incredibly tempting.
"You better not waste my time," he warned. "If you do, you’re going down with Penny!"
Thirty minutes later, Penny deleted her post and uploaded another picture of Slater with the caption:
[Best Big Brother EVER!!]
Before blocking him completely.

Atlas walked into the bedroom and spotted Lola working on something.
His brows rose, his steps light as a feather as he approached her. When he reached her desk, he rested a hand on it and looked at what she was doing.
"Oh?" Lola glanced at him. "You’re back? How is she?"
"She just fell asleep," he replied, referring to their daughter who had fallen asleep on his chest while he was reading some documents.
Then his attention shifted to her tablet.
"What is that?"
"Since I have tons of free time, I thought of picking up the story I drafted a long time ago," she beamed, sliding the tablet toward him as she continued working on her storyboard. "I just posted a few Chapters for the novel version, and my readers like it."
Atlas frowned slightly as he read the title.
"My Second Marriage with the Mafia Kingpin?" He paused. "That’s... interesting."
