Chapter 834: The END
Chapter 834: The END
"It’s a girl!"
Congratulatory words echoed in the garden as the team’s baby girl cheered happily. The majority of the guests wanted a girl because the family already had too many boys. Penny’s kids alone were already four boys.
Hence, Charles was happy that there was another princess in the family.
With him, Draken, Haines, Henrik, and Wild—who had just arrived—shook their heads. They could clearly see just how biased Charles was.
As for everyone else, they approached the family of four to congratulate them and wish them the best.
Meanwhile, Haji drank in the corner and winced.
"Another girl, huh?" His face twisted, thinking that between Second and Chacha, the girl was scarier. He shivered as he quietly walked away while everyone was busy.
Haji had only been here for a few hours, but he already felt truly exhausted. Since he already knew the gender, he left the bustling garden to find a peaceful spot. His grandmother was present, and seeing that she was having fun, he didn’t bother interrupting her.
Once Haji reached the other side of the mansion, his steps paused. His brows drew together when his eyes landed on Scarlet.
"What are you doing here?" he asked as he approached her, stopping in front of the flower bed where she stood. "They just revealed the baby’s gender."
Scarlet arched a brow at him and ignored him.
"Dang." He scrunched up his nose and took a step back. "Fine, fine. I won’t ask, and I’ll leave you alone."
With that, he turned on his heel and walked away.
Scarlet, on the other hand, glanced at his back. Her lips parted, but she ended up biting her tongue and looking away.
Just ignore him, she told herself. Asking him if Yuri is his type is just stupid. I don’t care anyway.
Her expression hardened as she mentally nodded, convinced of the things she had told herself. Earlier, she had seen Haji and Yuri talking privately.
Since the rescue mission, Haji and Yuri seemed to have gotten close. It reminded Scarlet of Haji’s preferences. It suited Yuri one way or another—minus the weirdness.
"Oh, by the way!" Haji halted in his tracks and looked back at her. "I saw this shooting range. Want to go there?"
Her brow rose as she turned to him. "Are you a player?"
"Huh?"
"No." She looked away, huffing sharply. "I don’t want to go and cause misunderstandings. Just invite Yuri."
He frowned. "The hell? Why would I invite her? She’s not into those things."
"Right. Because Yuri likes cute stuff, and not me?"
"Huh?!"
"Haji, leave me alone and stop wasting my breath." She clicked her tongue. "I’m alone here for a reason, and that’s because I want quiet. You’re polluting the air around me."
His face twitched. "What is wrong with you?"
But she didn’t answer him anymore.
"Whatever!" he huffed and resumed walking. But as he left, he couldn’t help but complain.
"What the heck is wrong with her? Is she on her period or what?"
He ruffled his hair irritably. "This is all Yuri’s fault. Why did I even believe her? Fuck. I almost humiliated myself there."
Good thing he didn’t ask that heartless Scarlet outright. Otherwise, he could already imagine the horror.
Meanwhile, Scarlet smacked her lips and glanced at his retreating figure. She huffed and turned on her heel, walking to the other side. She didn’t even know why she felt so annoyed with him.
"If he likes someone else, he shouldn’t keep going to another person," she muttered to herself. "What a player."
Maybe it was because every time she walked in on Haji and Yuri together. That was why Scarlet felt annoyed by it.
But amid her thoughts, her steps halted.
"Huh?" Scarlet furrowed her brows, darting her eyes between the two people standing several steps away from her.
Yuri and Allen.
"What are you two..." she trailed off, her eyes falling on Yuri and Allen’s tangled hands. "Huh?"
Scarlet looked up, only to see Allen laugh awkwardly. As for Yuri, she tilted her head to the side.
"Where’s Haji?" she asked, making Scarlet frown.
"Why are you asking me?" Scarlet replied coldly. "I mean, what are you two doing? Why are you holding hands?"
Allen raised their hands with a smile. "Yuri and I are official now."
"Yep!" Yuri laughed. "And we’re going to get married soon."
"We are?" he gasped, turning to her, only to hear her ask,
"You don’t want to?"
Allen coughed and laughed. "Of course not. I’m just... shocked. I still can’t believe we’re dating."
"We already kissed just now," she blinked, making his cheeks blush.
Yuri then turned to the confused Scarlet.
"I thought you and Haji would be together. After all, he was planning to ask you on a date."
"A what?"
"Didn’t he ask you already?" Yuri asked. "He’s been looking for shooting range places because he thought you liked those better than normal dates—"
Yuri paused while Allen raised his brows, watching Scarlet dash away from them.
"She’s silly," Allen commented.
Yuri nodded.
He chuckled and turned to her, joking, "Like us."

Lola rested her head on Atlas’s shoulder as they stood on the balcony to rest. It was getting late, after all, and no one wanted to exhaust the pregnant lady. Even so, she couldn’t sleep with this excitement.
"I’m so happy," she whispered, looking over the railing and seeing that the party was still going on. "I don’t think they’ll all be sleeping tonight."
"Not when there’s betting going on," he quipped, giving her a sideways glance.
Lola chuckled, holding his arm while her other hand rested on her baby bump.
"It’s a girl."
"Mhm," he whispered. "What should we name her?"
"I haven’t thought of that yet," she replied softly.
"We have time. No rush."
Silence settled between them, though the faint lively chatter from the garden kept the moment from being completely quiet. Both of them listened to the sounds filled with love and peace.
Lola closed her eyes, still resting her head on his shoulder. Her heart felt warm, and the corners of her mouth curled up.
When she opened her eyes again, she lifted her head from his shoulder and looked at him.
Atlas raised his brows as she simply stared. "What is it?"
"Nothing," she whispered. "I just... I’m just... I don’t know. Saying I’m happy feels lacking. I feel more than that, and no words could ever justify what I feel right now."
Her smile stretched.
"Atlas, we’ll love each other like this forever, right?"
"We will."
He nodded, reaching for her hand and lifting it to his lips. He placed a soft kiss on her knuckles, keeping his eyes on her.
"Forever—I’m certain. In this life, and in the next. Even the one after that."
Atlas pulled her closer by the waist and looked her in the eye. "Okay?"
Lola pursed her lips into a thin line, "Okay," smiling as her eyes slowly closed while he lowered his head, sealing this promise of eternity with a kiss.
Be it this lifetime, the next, or the one after that, he would love her.
No matter what versions of themselves they became, their hearts would always find a way to each other.
And they would—without shame, without hesitation, without regret.
Just like now, they would hold each other’s hands, kiss each other’s lips, choose each other every single day no matter how tough life could get, and love each other until their hair turned white and their skin wrinkled.
Their hearts would remain the same.
