The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy!

Chapter 829: A Full Heart

Chapter 829: A Full Heart

"I don’t want to see it."

Lola stood outside the bathroom with Atlas, looking far more nervous now.

"Atlas." She abruptly clasped his hands. "Do me a favor and take a look at it, but don’t tell me!"

"..."

"I mean, tell me. No, I don’t think you should." She let go of his hand and paced back and forth, biting the end of her thumb. "It says just a moment, like a minute or two. We have the results now, right?"

Atlas studied his nervous wife.

Just earlier, when she came out of the office, the two of them were in pure bliss. So, they dropped by the pharmacy to buy a few pregnancy tests. But now that she had taken them, she had just left all the tests on the sink and was guarding the bathroom instead.

"Darling." Atlas reached for her arm, stopping her from spiraling. "Let’s check together."

She pursed her lips and looked at him. "But what if... what if I was wrong?"

She didn’t think of that earlier because the mere thought that there was a life growing inside her sent her to the clouds. Had she known she would spiral like this, she would’ve kept it a secret first. What she was afraid of the most was disappointing him.

Atlas smiled reassuringly. "Whatever the result, nothing will change."

"... really?" She took a step forward. "I don’t want to disappoint us."

"I won’t be disappointed," he said. "Because we can keep trying. Would you feel disappointed?"

Lola bit her lip and thought about it. "Of course I will be." But she didn’t think she would spiral because of it.

Why?

Because she had a strong support system.

It hadn’t been long since they started trying. They might have had the twins in one try, but who knew? The birth control had been in her body for a long time.

"We can check!"

Suddenly, Chacha’s voice echoed in the room. When Lola and Atlas turned their heads, they saw the twins peeking through the door with big smiles. Their parents’ brows rose as the twins walked in.

"How did you..." Lola trailed off as she already realized the culprit. She turned to Atlas.

He smiled. "I thought they could give us a hand."

"Don’t worry, Mommy!" Second reassured her. "Daddy told us how to read it!"

"Two lines means we’re having a baby sibling, right?" Chacha beamed, holding up two fingers.

Lola pursed her lips, unsure if they should bring the children into this. If it were negative, all four of them would be disappointed. But then again, when she looked at her children and her husband, she smiled.

Weren’t they a team?

"Chacha, Second," Lola cleared her throat as she rushed to them and held their hands. "If it’s two lines, Mommy’s pregnant. But if it’s just one... just kiss Mommy, alright?"

"Okay~!" the twins nodded.

With that, they marched toward the bathroom. Atlas opened the door for them, but kept it open so they could see the children approach the sink.

Lola stretched her neck a little, watching as the twins reached for the pregnancy tests.

"Wait a minute," she blurted out. "Is it okay for them to be touching those?"

Knowing what was on them, wasn’t that... dangerous?

"They can wash their hands," Atlas said as he studied his children’s expressions.

They bought ten pregnancy tests, and Lola used them all. So, the twins were checking them one by one, as if making sure. After just a minute, they turned to the door with unreadable expressions.

"What does that mean?" she wondered, watching her children put down the tests and walk toward her.

"Mommy," Second called, motioning with his hand for her to get down a little.

Lola gulped as she squatted, her brows rising when the twins kissed her cheeks at the same time. Her heart sank a bit, but she still forced a smile as they drew their heads back. But when she saw the small smiles on their faces, Atlas squatted beside her and planted a kiss on her cheek as well.

"Why, you..." she turned to him, only to see him smile.

It was as though only she didn’t understand the twins’ reaction, even though she had given them very clear instructions.

"We’ll still kiss you no matter the result," Atlas remarked. "Not just for bad news, but also..."

His eyes fell on her stomach, and his lips stretched wider before he lifted his eyes to meet hers. "But especially for good news."

"Mommy, are we going to have a baby sister or a baby brother?!" Second asked, while Chacha held up the pregnancy test to show her the result. "I hope they’re twins like us!"

Lola’s hand shook as she held the small pregnancy test that showed two clear lines. For a second, it was almost like she couldn’t believe what was happening. Her mind was blank, unable to process her thoughts or even her emotions.

When she looked at her children beaming at her, and Atlas smiling, tears began to form in the corners of her eyes.

"We’re... we’re having another... baby?" she breathed out, only to see their faces brighten as her twins jumped to hug her and Atlas wrapped his arms around her and their children.

She didn’t know where these tears came from or why her body was trembling so much, even with Atlas’s secure hold. It wasn’t just happiness, that she was sure of.

These tears... they came from somewhere else.

It reminded her of the time she learned of her first pregnancy.

Back then... right, back then, she was alone.

And finding out such big news felt surreal. Her body also shook the way it shook now, but back then, she didn’t remember crying much. If anything, her mind was blank, but deep in her heart, everything was clear.

She wished it were not true, and that this was not happening to her.

But now, everything was just a blur. All she knew were the warm tears in her eyes, the bright smiles that mirrored hers, and the warmth their growing team shared in this moment.

Her heart was definitely full.

She was happy in a way that secretly scared her. But with them—Atlas, Second, and Chacha—and this additional member within her, the lingering fear that usually consumed her felt too small.

Fear was always present, but in this Chapter they were about to open together, it would never dictate how she lived.
