Chapter 425: Chapter 426: Kiki’s Return

Sienna Johnson didn’t try to wake him again. Instead, she got out of bed and tiptoed out of the room. She needed to calm herself down.

Otherwise, she couldn’t guarantee she wouldn’t end up like one of those irrational women, interrogating her husband, starting a fight, and venting all her dissatisfaction.

Perhaps he really did have something he couldn’t easily disclose... Maybe things weren’t as she suspected.

Sienna’s hand rested on her lower abdomen, where her and Adrian Desmond’s second child was growing. She sincerely hoped that when this child was born, Adrian would be by her side, unlike when she had struggled alone through Curly’s birth.

She chose to trust Adrian!

She believed he wouldn’t cheat on her or betray her and their child!

"Mommy..." Curly came running over, almost bumping into Sienna, who was lost in thought. Sienna took a step back and steadied Curly by the shoulders. "Why are you running around so early in the morning?"

"Mommy, come quickly!" Curly took her hand and started pulling her along. "Curly, where are you taking me? What do you want to show me?"

"You’ll see when we get there."

Seeing the expression on her daughter’s face, as if she had a big surprise for her, Sienna chuckled. "So mysterious?"

"Mommy, hurry up!"

Curly led Sienna to the Johnson family’s large kitchen. Inside, a woman in an apron was preparing breakfast, her expression gentle. Sienna recognized her at a glance. It was Kiki!

Kiki was back!

"Mommy, look who’s back!" Curly said excitedly.

The woman heard the commotion and looked towards the kitchen doorway. Their eyes met, and both their expressions filled with emotion. They moved towards each other at the same time and embraced.

Kiki’s eyes reddened as she said, "I’m sorry. I was gone for so long before I came back."

"Where is that bastard Lucas Robertson?" Sienna asked through gritted teeth. She was furious that he had dared to abduct Kiki—a single week of that would have been an eternity, let alone the actual time.

"He had some matters to attend to and didn’t come back with me."

Sienna let go of Kiki and looked her up and down. After confirming she hadn’t been abused, she relaxed slightly and began her interrogation.

"Where did you and Lucas go? Did he force you to do anything?"

After Lucas had first taken Kiki away, Sienna had sent people to search for them. The outcome was predictable. After all, Lucas had managed to keep Kiki hidden from the formidable Adrian Desmond for four years; how could Sienna possibly have found them?

"We got married," Kiki said softly.

Sienna gasped. "You and Lucas got married?"

"Yes. We went back to Abyanabad and got married there... I... I should have sent you an invitation..." Kiki trailed off, unable to continue.

Sienna looked at Kiki and saw a trace of desolation in her eyes—not the look a newlywed woman should have. "Did he force you?" Sienna demanded sharply. "You didn’t want to marry him, so he forced you, didn’t he?"

"It’s in the past..."

Between Lucas and Kiki, Kiki was never a match for him.

Lucas had taken Kiki to many places after they left. When Kiki wanted to come back, Lucas had said only one thing: if she wanted to return, she had to marry him!

Kiki had actually resisted for a long time but eventually gave in. She missed her home in Sileria City, and she missed Sienna and Curly.

"That Lucas! When he comes back, just see if I don’t teach him a lesson! It’s too much! How could anyone be so despicable and shameless!" Sienna fumed.

"Has... Samuel... come looking for me?" Kiki asked cautiously, not daring to meet Sienna’s eyes.

"He came a few times. Later, Adrian personally had a talk with him, and he never came back again." Sienna sighed, unsure what to make of Samuel Palmer.

Kiki and Samuel had mutual feelings, a willing couple, yet Lucas had to butt in. Sienna definitely held a grudge against Lucas for that.

"Tell me, did you want to marry Lucas or not? If you didn’t, I’ll help you," Sienna promised.

Kiki didn’t answer directly. She only said, "I’m pregnant."

Sienna asked, "Whose child is it?"

"Lucas’s!" Kiki whispered.

Sienna thought for a moment and pieced together what might have happened between Kiki and Lucas. "Did he force you?" she asked.

"Yes." A shadow of sorrow crossed Kiki’s face; she was clearly unhappy about being with Lucas.

Sienna held Kiki’s hand, comforting her. "Now that you’re back, I’ll naturally protect you. Lucas is so despicable, using such vile tactics. I definitely won’t condone his actions... I..."

Kiki interrupted her, saying with resignation, "I’m already pregnant. What else can be done? Let it be. It’s all the same, no matter who I’m with."

"How can you think like that?"

"You know I’ve always been this useless... Actually, it’s quite good. Now that I’m with Lucas, I won’t have to leave you all again."

Kiki looked at the curly-haired Curly and reached out to ruffle her hair. "Curly, did you miss me?"

Curly hugged Kiki, acting coyly. "Yes, I missed you... Kiki, please don’t leave again. When you’re gone, there’s no one to play with me."

"I won’t leave. I’m not going anywhere. I’ll stay right here with our Curly."

Having been away for so long, Kiki missed and worried about Curly the most. Sienna was usually too busy with work and couldn’t always look after the child. While away, Kiki constantly worried if Curly was eating well and if she kicked off her blankets at night...

"Kiki, what’s that burning smell?" A scorched odor filled the air. Curly sniffed with her little nose and reminded Kiki, who then remembered she was cooking porridge.

"Oh no, oh no..." Kiki hurriedly turned off the stove, but it was too late; the porridge was burnt. "Now what do we do?"

Sienna walked over. "Put a stalk of green onion in it. The green onion can absorb the burnt taste."

"Does that really work?"

"That’s what my mom said." Sienna smiled at her, and Kiki returned a radiant smile.

"How’s Auntie Rose doing?"

"She’s doing very well. She’s at Cloudscape Mansion, busy growing vegetables and raising chickens and ducks. She doesn’t even want to come back. Oh, right, the ingredients in the kitchen are all from Cloudscape Mansion. I think my mom grew most of them."

"It’s just, she’s worried about my brother’s marriage. Now I’m starting to worry too. I mean, where on earth is my future sister-in-law?"

"Things like destiny can’t be rushed. Brother Marvin’s time just hasn’t come yet. You can’t hurry it," Kiki comforted.

"I try to tell my mom that too, but she won’t listen. Sigh... If it really comes to it, I’ll just post a marriage announcement for him in the papers. I refuse to believe that out of all these women, there isn’t a single one he’d take a liking to!"

"I kind of miss Auntie Rose. Can we go visit her when we have some time?"

Thinking about all the troublesome matters, Sienna frowned. "Mm, when we have time..." She really had been too busy lately.

Lucas walked in from outside. He glanced at Sienna and greeted, "Miss." Then his gaze shifted to Kiki. Kiki’s expression stiffened, and she ignored him.
