Chapter 371: Chapter 372: Hidden Secrets Within

Sabrina Johnson was crying as she ran out of the maternity store. As soon as she stepped out, she bumped into Master Leland again. Sabrina gave the persistent man a fierce glare. She couldn’t understand it. Was this man always this free? Why was he always following her? How could she run into him wherever she went?

"Sabrina..." Master Leland saw her, opened the car door, and smiled at her.

"Get lost!"

"Sabrina, where are you going? Let me give you a ride."

"You’re really annoying, stay away from me!" Sabrina yelled at him. She hated Master Leland—she hated his aged face. The very thought of having slept with this man made her feel as nauseous as if she had eaten feces.

"Aren’t you curious whether your Husband is the father of the child that woman carries?"

Sabrina stopped, her thoughts hooked by Master Leland’s words. She turned to look at the man in the car and asked, "What do you mean? Isn’t the child Frederick Stewart’s?"

"Get in the car. It’s hard to explain in such a short time."

"What do you actually know?"

"Get in!"

After some thought, Sabrina got into the car. She didn’t want to look at Master Leland, so she turned to watch the streetscape through the window. Meanwhile, Master Leland watched her with a constant smile, his eyes occasionally sweeping over her belly. Inside was his son; the thought alone filled him with happiness. He never imagined he could have a son at such an old age.

"Sabrina, are you hungry? I can take you somewhere to eat. I heard you like Western food. I know a Western restaurant that serves authentic Aurinnois cuisine..."

Sabrina didn’t want to spend another moment with him and asked again, "What do you actually know? Is that whore’s child not Frederick Stewart’s?"

Master Leland smiled at her, his eyes holding the affectionate indulgence of an elder towards a naive junior. "Aren’t you curious? You can get pregnant, but after three years of marriage to Frederick, you still couldn’t conceive..."

"I... I had an abortion before," she said quietly.

"But now you’re pregnant again, which means there’s nothing wrong with your body. If your body is fine, then it must be Frederick’s problem. If Frederick can’t have children, then the child in Sissi’s belly becomes a big question..."

Sabrina mulled over Master Leland’s words. She unconsciously picked at her palm. After a while, she softened her voice and said, "Master Leland, can you help me find out who the father of that whore’s child is?"

"Of course, no problem," Master Leland agreed.

Since she was asking for a favor, she had to be courteous. Sabrina could no longer yell at Master Leland as before.

"Thank you."

"Sabrina, you don’t need to be so polite with me."

「Lanvi Western Restaurant」

This was a famous Western restaurant in Sileria City with a history of over fifty years. Sabrina Johnson was a frequent patron; Pauline Briggs had brought her here to learn Western dining etiquette.

When she was little, she was like a princess, living a very happy life. But ever since Sienna Johnson returned to the Johnson Family, her good luck seemed to have ended, and too many things had gone wrong.

The bodyguard opened the car door for them, his hand positioned to prevent Sabrina’s head from bumping against the frame. Sabrina habitually said, "Thank you."

"You’re welcome."

Master Leland then got out of the car. He was tall, about six feet, making Sabrina appear even more petite and adorable beside him.

The two entered the Western restaurant one after another and were immediately led to a private booth.

The best seats in the restaurant were usually not available to the public; Sabrina hadn’t expected this spot to be reserved for Master Leland.

Master Leland was still dressed in a black Chinese tunic suit today, with every button fastened, giving him a stern and conventional appearance. Half of his hair was white, and Sienna Johnson was somewhat afraid of this man.

Master Leland let Sabrina order. She had no appetite and randomly chose a few dishes before handing the menu to Master Leland, who also picked a few items.

"Sissi, don’t you remember me?"

"Did we know each other before?" Sabrina asked indifferently.

"The first time I saw you was at Yvette Harris’s birthday party. You were there too, though you seemed rather reluctant. I got lost in the Harris Family’s back garden, and you helped me find the way. Don’t you remember?"

"I’m sorry, I’ve forgotten."

Sabrina took a sip of lemon water and felt a wave of nausea. She took out a mint-scented handkerchief and held it to her nose, sniffing gently.

"Children tend to be forgetful..." Master Leland said with a hint of regret.

Sabrina didn’t reply.

"Sissi, now that you’re pregnant, you should try to be happier. I wouldn’t want my son to be born with a constant frown..."

"How do you know it’s your son? It could be Frederick’s..."

"I just found out that Frederick had a car accident four years ago. His manhood was injured..."

Hearing this sudden news, Sabrina was visibly shocked. "Four years ago, Frederick did have a car accident, but the doctor never said he injured... that part..."

"Only Frederick’s grandfather knew. Frederick himself doesn’t even know."

Frederick’s grandfather had passed away three years ago.

Sabrina’s mind struggled to process this. "Why didn’t his grandfather tell Frederick?"

"If Frederick knew he couldn’t have children, how do you think he would react?" Master Leland asked.

"...Frederick has never really suffered any major setbacks since he was a child. If he knew he was sterile..." Sabrina said slowly, "he probably wouldn’t be able to take it..."

"Your Husband is too soft-hearted..." Master Leland, a man from the underworld, still exuded a murderous aura even in his old age.

In Master Leland’s eyes, Frederick was soft. But in Sabrina’s eyes, he was gentle and elegant, a true gentleman. Frederick reminded Sabrina of Dexter Johnson, who had always been her image of an ideal Husband...

Unfortunately, Dexter died at their hands—hers and Frederick’s... Sabrina could never forget the look in Dexter’s eyes as he was dying... She squeezed her eyes shut, not daring to think any further.

The dishes arrived one by one, but Sabrina had no appetite at all. After a few token bites, she said she wanted to go home. Master Leland personally saw her out.

As they approached the Stewart Family residence, Sabrina said, "You can drop me off here. It wouldn’t look good if someone saw us."

"Alright."

Master Leland had the car pull over to the side of the road. Sabrina got out and left without a second glance. Master Leland watched her until her figure disappeared from his sight.

"Master Leland, you clearly know that the child in that woman’s womb isn’t Frederick’s. Why didn’t you tell Miss Johnson just now?"

Master Leland chuckled. "I’d like to see Sabrina a few more times. If I told her, she definitely wouldn’t want to come out and see me again."
