Chapter 327: Chapter 328: Tycoon Wedding

May 8th, the day the Desmond and Johnson families were to become inseparable allies.

In the wee hours of the night, Sienna Johnson got up to put on her makeup. The Orienta-style wedding gown was personally selected by Adrian Desmond. The internationally renowned designer Mitsuo Kaiji designed the bridal gown: it had a Mongolian-style robe with wide sleeves and narrow cuffs on top, paired with a Western-style lace body-fitting dress on the inside. The grand and elegant ensemble was in a vermilion hue exclusively used by royalty and featured a phoenix totem pattern inspired by blue and white porcelain vases. The gold and blue colors intertwined to create a visually striking effect.

As Sienna looked at the gown in the mirror, it all felt surreal; she was really going to marry that man, Adrian Desmond.

"Sienna, your traditional Orienta wedding gown is so beautiful!" exclaimed Kiki, captivated by the enchanting red dress, which looked so much more stunning than she had anticipated.

"When you marry Samuel Palmer, you should also have an Orienta-style wedding," Sienna teased.

Kiki blushed. "It’s still early."

"Once my wedding is over, let’s arrange for yours as well," Sienna decided.

With her face flushed, Kiki looked as shy as a dew-covered flower.

"Wow, look at Kiki’s crimson cheeks, they’re almost as red as Sienna’s wedding gown," remarked Sienna’s close friend Leanne Andrews.

"Leanne, don’t tease her; she’s very easily embarrassed."

"I know, I know..."

Pauline Briggs’ family tradition was for daughters to wear their mother’s wedding gown, but Sienna did not want that, so she chose an Orienta-style ceremony instead. Surprisingly, even someone as tasteless as Adrian Desmond managed to purchase such a gorgeous gown for her.

Sienna was very fond of the gown she was wearing.

Every woman dreams of her wedding, and Sienna was no exception. She had always imagined a Western-style church wedding, wearing a white dress and making a lifetime commitment before God.

"The groom really went all out for you," Sienna’s close friend Henry Evans said with a smile, noticing her beautiful gown.

Though Adrian Desmond was from Abyanabad, he had specifically sought out someone well-versed in Orienta-style weddings, and the preparations were impeccable.

Aside from the gown, there was also an array of gold jewelry. Under the guidance of Grandma Joy from the Desmond Family, who claimed to be blessed with an abundance of fortune and longevity, Sienna’s wrists were laden with gold bracelets reaching all the way to her shoulders. All her fingers, except for the one with the wedding ring, were adorned with gold rings.

"These gold tiaras should also be worn by the bride," the matron of honor said, gesturing to Henry while picking up the shimmering gold tiaras that featured beautiful, dangling golden tassels.

Henry, who was just styling Sienna’s hair, was taken aback. "These hair accessories look really heavy, won’t they be too cumbersome?"

Grandma Joy waved her hand dismissively. "This young man doesn’t understand. A bride should wear as much gold as possible for her wedding; that’s what makes her look rich and brings her good luck."

Bridesmaid Leanne Andrews couldn’t help but burst into laughter. "Is this the legendary nouveau riche wedding?"

"I think it’s very beautiful," Sienna picked up the dazzling gold tiara and handed it to Henry, saying quite cooperatively, "Put it on."

Her wrists, fingers, neck, and head were all covered in heavy gold. Nearby, Leanne, dressed in a pink bridesmaid dress, couldn’t resist teasing her.

"Sienna, why didn’t you make your nouveau riche husband give you an anklet too? Better yet, have him put a ring on each toe; then you’ll look just like the Red Boy from Journey to the West. HAHA..."

"Leanne, stop teasing Sienna," Henry said, looking sympathetically at Sienna.

Sienna didn’t mind. "I think it’s great; I love gold. These gold pieces can be sold for quite a sum."

Henry really didn’t know what to say. "Sienna, could you have a little more romantic sensibility? All you talk about is money; isn’t that vulgar?"

"Ah, you sound like someone who’s never had to worry about the cost of living. Nowadays, there’s nothing better than money," Sienna said, laughing as she looked at the gold accessories adorning her body.

Henry was rendered speechless.

Sienna continued, "In one of Leanne’s scripts, wasn’t there a divorced woman who sold the huge diamond ring her ex-husband had given her and lived a rich life? If I ever fall into misfortune and become divorced, I’ll sell all these gold accessories."

The matron of honor tutted twice, helplessly saying, "Bride, today is your big day. You shouldn’t say such unlucky things; it’s inauspicious."

"Leanne, I don’t have a superficial friend like you!" Sienna exclaimed playfully.

"Sienna, I never thought that even a nerdy girl like you would read my novels," Leanne looked at Sienna as if she were looking at her diehard fan.

"It gives me something to do when I’m bored, just to see how stupid those women can be."

Although Leanne also studied medicine, she became a screenwriter after graduation. Her scripts were often filled with melodrama and clichés. Despite this, the TV shows adapted from them became wildly popular, even launching the careers of several young newcomers.

"So are you praising me or putting me down?" Leanne asked.

"What do you think?"

"Alright, I’ll take it as a compliment."

The auspicious timing was very tight. As soon as Sienna finished applying her makeup, Adrian Desmond arrived with a fleet of luxurious Ferraris and Lamborghinis to pick up his bride.

"Sienna, the groom has arrived. Do you want to give him a hard time?" Leanne, the mischievous bridesmaid, asked as she peered through the window at the man dressed in Orienta-style groom’s attire.

This was the first time Leanne saw Adrian Desmond. In her impression, Adrian should be a fierce-looking bandit with a brawny build, but from this distance, he appeared tall and handsome, looking very dashing in his red bridal attire.

"Sienna, your husband is really handsome! He doesn’t look like a nouveau riche with a fat brain and intestines at all!"

Sienna was speechless.

"Hey, could you ask your husband if he would play the male lead in my new drama? Your husband’s temperament is really in line with the image of my drama’s protagonist," Leanne’s eyes sparkled as she looked at Adrian Desmond, as if he were her prey.

Sienna was again left speechless.

"He has a big nose and fleshy nostrils; men like that have strong libidos. Sienna, you’re in for quite a sex life."

What kind of friends are these? None of them can say a single nice thing, Sienna fumed internally.

"His hands are big, so I bet that thing of his isn’t small either," Leanne looked at Sienna worriedly. "Sienna, you’re petite; are you sure your size matches his?"

Sienna couldn’t take it anymore. "Leanne, can we not discuss this topic?"

"If the sexual life in a marriage isn’t harmonious, the marriage won’t last. TSK TSK... Incompatibility in size could be a big problem."

Sienna held her forehead. "Can you please stop talking about this?"

"You’re already a married woman with a child, Sienna," Leanne retorted. "Stop acting so innocent; it’s as if you’re still a virgin."

Faced with Leanne’s risqué commentary, Sienna chose to remain silent.
