Chapter 322: Chapter 323: Mockery in the Sky
The plane flew very high; the air was thin. Sienna Johnson could feel the suffocating pain and the deep fear.
She was scared—truly scared—to death!
Dammit, you haven’t even told me how to use the parachute! What a suicidal pace!!
Anger, shock, and fear got the better of Sienna, making her curse.
"Bastard! I’m gonna kill you! You son of a bitch, scum, trash..."
As she fell, she felt an irredeemable sense of impending doom. The fear reached its peak, and she suddenly calmed down. Stretching her body, she fell fast in a supine position.
The wind roared around her, her long hair billowed by its force. She was falling into the silence of death, recalling her tragic life. She was actually going to die like this... She promised Curly to go on an outing with her; she hadn’t yet returned the necklace to Mrs. Phillips.
Suddenly, someone grabbed hold of her. She opened her eyes to see Adrian Desmond’s face, so close to hers. He was holding her tight, a smile on his face.
"Sienna, open your eyes and enjoy the feeling of flying."
"Adrian, I don’t know how to use the parachute!" she yelled at him, wanting to stab this menace to death.
"Ah? There are people in this world who don’t know how to use a parachute? Sienna Johnson, I knew you were dumb, but I didn’t think you were this dumb."
As an ordinary person, is it strange not to know how to use a parachute?
"Adrian, I’m so unwilling to die with someone like you."
"If I die, and you’re not accompanying me, what am I going to do when I want you?" Adrian was unusually tender, his gaze flooded with affection as he said firmly, "But, I won’t let you die! I’ll make sure you live a long life!"
"Then, you, a menace destined to live a thousand years, will continue to bully me throughout my long life, and in the end, I’ll still be bullied to death by you!"
"..."
"Adrian, you are a damn pervert! Son of a bitch, barbarian, thug..."
Her pretty mouth was going off non-stop, tears rolling down her beautiful eyes. Adrian really didn’t understand why this woman shed so many tears. What was she afraid of? How could he bear to let her die?
"Shut up!"
"No!" She was about to die; she wasn’t afraid of this man anymore. "Adrian, you beast... you bully the weak but fear the strong. You think I’m easy to bully, so you bully me? What gives you the right?"
She was causing a fuss, pushing him. He had been holding her with one hand. He lost his balance, and she slipped from his grasp, falling away from him quickly.
"Sienna Johnson, give me your hand!"
He knew she couldn’t use the parachute; he could only hold her for her to land safely. Otherwise, from such a height, falling would undoubtedly kill her.
"Sienna Johnson!"
Sienna didn’t reach out her hand but crossed her arms and closed her eyes in a posture of resignation to her fate.
"Sienna Johnson!"
He shouted at her, but it was useless.
In desperation, Adrian unbuckled his own parachute and all other restraints, adjusted his body and direction as much as possible, stretched out his arm, and reached for the damn woman!
Strong arms suddenly grabbed her. With a sharp yank, she was securely tucked into a man’s embrace. Then came a kiss—rude, brutish, a release of pent-up frustration... Her lips were brutally nibbled and bitten. As she opened her mouth in pain, her slightly opened eyes met Adrian’s dark red pupils.
"Your life is mine. Without my permission, you have to live a long life!"
His forceful tongue invaded her mouth, the pain dragging her back from her despondent state. "It hurts!" she cried out, earning her a harsher "punishment."
They had long forgotten that they were still in the air. If they pulled the parachute too soon, they would hit a mountain and die; if they pulled it too late and it didn’t open in time, they would splatter on the ground—death all the same.
"Why are you so timid?"
WHOOSH... The parachute opened like wings behind Sienna. Their bodies, once supine, flipped over. The two embraced and kissed as their rapid descent slowed.
As her toes touched the ground, reality set in.
The moment her feet firmly hit the land, Sienna felt safe. She was bedraggled, drenched in cold sweat, her hair a mess. As she knelt on the ground, gasping for breath, her face turned pale, the fright of her brush with death lingering.
"Are you okay?"
Sienna raised her eyes to stare at him resentfully, then grabbed his hand and bit down hard, venting her anger.
Adrian smiled, not even trying to evade. "Little kitten is angry..."
"Adrian, you bastard!"
"Can’t you find another word?" Adrian unstrapped the parachute from her and picked up the woman whose legs were wobbly. "You were a wildcat in Abyanabad; how come you’re such a scaredy-cat in Sileria City..."
"Adrian, I’m telling you seriously: I have acrophobia. If you dare make me skydive again, I will find a random man, have a one-night stand, and make you a cuckold!"
"You dare?" His hand landed a heavy slap on her butt, punishing her for her loose talk.
"Watch me!" Sienna was driven insane by this man.
"Alright, alright, I won’t make you skydive anymore, okay? Don’t be angry."
"Hmph!"
Sienna huffed, her eyes filled with rage. Adrian chuckled. "If you keep being angry, I’ll throw you back on the plane and make you jump again. This time, I won’t accompany you. You’ll do it on your own."
Sienna swung a punch at him. "You always bully me, always bully me... You knew I was afraid of snakes, and yet you locked me in that snake room... Adrian, you bastard!... I detest you, I hate you..."
"Who asked you to run! For someone who betrayed me, merely locking you in a room with a bunch of non-venomous snakes was already showing you mercy."
"Yeah, Sixth Master, you’re so kind..." After that sarcastic comment, Sienna fell silent.
Those intentionally ignored, unpleasant memories slowly surfaced, and Sienna refused to show Adrian any more courtesy.
"Sixth Master..." David came over.
David was one of Adrian’s bodyguards. He had arrived in Province A a day earlier and located them via the GPS system on Adrian’s phone.
"Mm." Adrian, holding Sienna, got into the car David had driven over.
"Let’s go to the hotel first."
"Yes."
In their current state, they couldn’t go directly to the Phillips family to see Mrs. Phillips.
"Still angry? Don’t be. If you don’t like skydiving, I won’t force you to do it again." He reached for Sienna’s hand, but she dodged.
