Chapter 943 - 920: Fierce Battle (Part 2)

The rain was still falling, and it was quite heavy, accompanied by thunder and lightning, striking the broad-leaved trees, making a crackling sound.

This kind of weather is actually very suitable for an ambush. Because the rain will wash away all traces and smells, helping them to lurk and hide, facilitating an unexpected attack.

Everyone was soaked, with water dripping soundlessly down, and the rain blurred their vision. Fortunately, their weapons were all waterproof; otherwise, if they couldn’t fire upon encountering the enemy, that would be quite amusing.

"Aaron!"

"Coming, coming."

"Find a way to get the climbing rope to the top of the cliff," Adrian commanded.

Aaron Faber stepped out of the crowd, holding a black mini-plane, and placed it on the ground. He squatted down, adjusted the plane, and said,

"No problem, give me the climbing rope."

Marion hurriedly took off the climbing rope from himself, and Aaron Faber adjusted the position of the rope, laying it flat on the ground, then started the drone.

The drone actually made a sound, but Aaron Faber was worried about being discovered. Now, with the flashes of lightning and thunder, they weren’t really afraid of making some noise.

"Is this difficult?" Sabrina Conner asked doubtfully.

"Do you have another solution?"

Sabrina Conner wisely closed her mouth.

Aaron Faber launched the drone, controlling it skillfully, as the group watched the drone grab the hook of the rope and fly toward the top of the cliff. They held their breath in silence, surrounded only by the sound of the rain and the thunder.

"Sixth Master, there’s no place to attach it," Aaron said in a troubled tone as he watched the video transmitted from the camera on the drone.

The cliff was clean, with no trees, not even large stones.

Adrian Desmond approached, glanced at the lens of Aaron’s camera, and also found no place to attach the climbing rope hook.

"No wonder there’s no one guarding here; they were sure we couldn’t climb up."

"Sixth Master, why don’t I give it a try?"

Sabrina planned to climb up manually, and Adrian looked at the rain-slicked cliff face but did not agree.

If it weren’t raining, using anti-slip powder, it might be worth a try. But now, with the rain, climbing by hand is simply courting death.

"Stay here, don’t act rashly; I’ll see if there’s another path."

"Sixth Master, I’ll go with you."

"No need!"

Adrian had lived on Death Island for seven years and was quite familiar with the place. When he had no tasks, he liked to wander around Death Island, trying to find a way out.

From the moment he entered Death Island, Adrian thought about escape.

Adrian couldn’t help thinking of Sienna Johnson. From the moment she came to him, she thought of escape, so, to some extent, they were very alike.

Both knew how to gauge the situation, understood patience, and, more importantly, seized the opportunity to muster the courage and break out of the cage.

Adrian stood by the sea, where a female corpse full of bullet holes was still floating on the beach. He walked over, and the woman’s hand suddenly opened, revealing a pendant with a photo inside.

Adrian stopped, picked up the pendant, and saw a photo of a happy family of three. In the photo was a smiling little boy with cute little freckles on his face.

"I remember him... his code name was 2390. He’s one of Death Island’s top assassins..."

"..."

"2390’s current name is Wesley!"

"..."

"You shouldn’t have come to find him. From the moment your child was taken, he was no longer your child."

was just one of countless humanoid weapons on Death Island!

He reached out with a hand covered in a black leather glove and gently closed the woman’s eyes, whispering,

"I hope it wasn’t 2390 who killed you." Otherwise, this truly is a human tragedy.

Adrian walked into the ocean, diving toward the cave he remembered.

The stormy Ocean seemed like a giant beast, waves surging wildly, but under the surface, it was much quieter.

Adrian had to come up for air repeatedly, then dive back down.

The ocean was very dark; the flashlight in Adrian’s mouth could only illuminate a small area. As he got closer, he felt a change in the water flow, like a suction trying to pull him in.

This place, this entrance - it was where he had escaped from Death Island all those years ago.

Through this entrance was a tunnel leading to an inner lake on the island, and the lake housed man-eating sharks.

Adrian had jumped into the lake that year, evaded the sharks, traversed a 15-meter dark tunnel, and escaped alive.

—Damn it!

Adrian cursed, bubbles emerging from his mouth. He quickly surfaced for air, gasping.

He wasn’t sure if someone had discovered his old escape route; at the entrance was now a large propeller, hence the unusual water movement he felt while diving.

Adrian went ashore, removing his leather boots, which were full of water, emptied them, and put them back on before returning.

The rain continued to fall; the poor mother still lay on the beach, her body white from being soaked.

Adrian looked at the aging face of the woman, his heart inexplicably aching.

"How can there be children who don’t recognize their mothers? If my mother were still alive and came to find me, I’d be so happy." He murmured softly.

Adrian dragged the body under a tree and covered her with several large banana leaves.

"Marion, bring Aaron and Sabrina over," Adrian said through the communicator.

"Yes, Sixth Master."

They all had locators on them, so even if Adrian didn’t tell them the exact location, they knew where he was.

Quickly, they reunited with Adrian.

They looked like they’d been pulled out of the water, drenched and dripping.

"Sixth Master, how is it? Did you find another entrance?" Marion asked.

"I know an entrance to the interior of Death Island. But there’s a propeller at the entrance," Adrian briefly explained the situation.

Sabrina said, "We can just destroy the propeller; leave it to me."

Adrian was cautious. He looked at Aaron Faber and said, "Aaron, later you check if the propeller has sensors or similar devices. If we destroy the propeller, will people inside notice someone intruding?"

"Okay."

Adrian continued, "After destroying the propeller, we’ll enter a 15-meter tunnel. Once inside, you must swim fast, or you’ll suffocate in the tunnel.

At the end of the tunnel is a lake with sharks.

When you get out of the tunnel mouth, be careful not to be killed by people from Death Island or get bitten by sharks."

"Sixth Master, how many sharks are in the lake?" Sabrina asked.

Facing the task of destroying the propeller, the 15-meter tunnel, and the lake with sharks – whoever designed this was clearly out to ensure his demise.
