Chapter 230
Chapter 230
Tang Yin's consciousness returned in a blur. The kind that made one see many rainbow colours and want to poke them just to see which of the two blurry, seemingly identical figures was the right one.
And she was so tired she needed something to kickstart her mind.
"I need Coffee." She croaked.
"How about water first?" A voice she did not recognise. But after the first sip, the sight clarified, and she saw a young, slender, black-haired man with rather deep blue eyes. He was not handsome; he seemed cold. Very cold, the kind of cold that made someone attractive without being attractive.
"I like my men bulkier." She muttered, still thinking out loud as she got up and shook off the thought. "And shirtless."
"Not quite what I expected." The young man laughed. "Thankfully, I am spoken for, but it's good to know for a great majority of the clans' young singles."
"I have a boyfriend. I am monogamous and not poly, thank you very much." She grabbed her head that felt like she had just gone through a headfirst through-the-wall competition with an ox...and lost. "Who are you?" She looked at him. "I think I...shouldmy leg already look like that? Last I remember it was...less good looking."
"Our healer patched you up, Miss. You were unconscious for about a week now." The young man said. "I am Yu Tianheng." He introduced himself. "How much do you remember?"
She needed a moment and then groaned. "Enough to know..." She got a titch louder. "...someone is being late. I passed your holiness ' godly morons." She directed her gaze to where she suspected the sky and the ceiling of the tent were.
"I am sorry?" Yu Tianheng said.
"Please don't ask, just get me out of this tent for a moment. I need to scream at two gods."
"I am sorry, what?"
"You'll see." She told him, and he did as she asked. Outside, she looked upwards, and when he put her on the ground and kept her stable, she felt the urge to put her hands on her hips. She only had one hand, and it was occupied with balancing to keep her standing. She turned to the sky.
"I passed! Don't you dare say that ain't passing!" she bellowed.
"What?" Yu Tianheng was confused, then stunned, as his jaw dropped.
A rip in the sky appeared, opening wider and wider, silvery gleaming light, tendrils of blue mixing with the light, illuminating her as she was spurned by a light show. Her feet rising off the ground, slowly her body ascending, the comfortable energy fixing what the healer couldn't truly fix.
"There we go." Tang Yin muttered. "Skimpy gods."
Tang Yin Sea and Moon god exam number four passed.
Successfully killed a title douluo.
Closeness to the moon god increased.
Gained two levels of spirit power.
A voice said, almost humour-filled, and Yin felt a greater relief than she did before as the energy passed through her. Sighing as she almost went to her knees, but she was still flying. Yu Tianheng stared at her as she was relieved for about 3 seconds.
Then she got her next test, the fifth exam.
Internally, she was screaming. No, not screaming screeching about Sodom and Gomorrah.
Fifth god exam. Break through level 70 and gain a third-century millennium spirit ring from an evil spirit beast.
The shimmer around her lessened, and she closed her eyes. Descending back to the ground. No extras this time, she guessed. Wouldn't have wanted any for killing either. It would feel as if someone said she was good at it, and she really, really did not want to be good at killing. The thought of her actions made her stomach turn and twist in all the wrong ways.
"From the rain into the pouring, I guess." She muttered and sank to her knees. "Damn it."
"Miss Tang?" A cautious voice asked her. "Everything alright?" Still grappling with what he just saw, much like everyone else present.
"No, but I'll survive." She groaned. At least her body didn't hurt anymore like it had been run over by a truck twice and then stubbed for good measure. "Just never, never try taking a god inheritance when you don't absolutely have to. Gods are like naggy grandmothers who forget halfway through what they set out to do and give you tests you don’t like, making you do all the bloody work for them."
"...ehm...I happen to like my naggy grandmother." He said, and she looked at him for a long time.
"They are not the kind nagging ones." She pointed out, and he shrugged his shoulders.
