Chapter 278: What Did You Say?
Chapter 278: What Did You Say?
"Your artistic talent is just astounding."
Wu Yue’s face was impassive. ’Don’t think I can’t tell you’re mocking me. So what if I can’t draw a map?’
’Is there some rule that says I have to know how to draw a map?’
"Just tell me if you can read it or not."
Teng Kun gave her a disdainful look. "I can."
Wu Yue said smugly, "Then stop running your mouth if you can understand it. See these four dots on the map?"
"Dig cellars for me at the locations of these four dots."
Teng Kun stared at the four spots, which were spread far apart. His tiger-like face was a mask of confusion. "How deep?"
Wu Yue paused for a moment before saying in all seriousness, "Just deep enough so you can get back out."
Teng Kun was speechless.
’She’s being that careless about it?’
Wu Yue looked at him. "I’ve never dug one before, but you’ve seen a water well, haven’t you? Dig straight down. Once it’s deep enough for you to walk around in upright, start widening it on both sides. We’ll need to store things in there later."
A sudden thought struck her. She discreetly opened her panel, and sure enough...
The progress on the ’dig a cellar’ quest had advanced by five percent, proving her unconventional method was viable. ’Next...’
A wicked grin spread across her face as she looked at the quest’s progress bar.
"Each time you’re about to start a new cellar, send someone to notify me. You only start digging when I say so. Got it?"
He didn’t understand her reasoning, but his own General had ordered them to follow Wu Yue’s lead on this mission.
As the General’s Deputy General, it was his duty to strictly obey and execute his General’s commands at all times.
The first site selected was near the pond where she and Qingcao had bathed before, as it was the closest location to the taro patch, making harvesting and storage convenient.
Half the males began constructing houses, while the other half set to work excavating the cellars.
While Teng Kun and the males got to work, Wu Yue stood off to the side, pretending to stare intently at a weed in her hand. In reality, her eyes were glued to the quest panel in her vision.
Just as they finished digging the vertical shaft for the cellar, the male inside suddenly scrambled out. He was drenched from head to toe. Wiping water from his face, he looked at Teng Kun and said, "It’s full of water down there! We can’t dig anymore."
Wu Yue stood and walked over to the mouth of the shaft to look. As she suspected, the soil here was completely saturated, likely due to its proximity to the pond.
She glanced at the unmoving quest progress bar.
’So, does that mean I need to pick a drier location?’
She turned and strode toward the next location. "Next one."
Using this method, which was practically cheating, the progress bar finally reacted as the males began digging the third hole.
Wu Yue was instantly overjoyed.
Her eyes were glued to the progress bar, which climbed slowly with the males’ every action. The joy in her heart was about to overflow.
Covered in dirt, Teng Kun led the males out of the hole. He looked at Wu Yue, his eyes full of anticipation. "Are we done?"
Wu Yue, however, just stood there with a frown, not saying a word. She was staring at the last ten percent, unable for the life of her to figure out what the problem was.
At that moment, Teng Kun brushed the dirt from his head and stood up. He walked over to the newly dug hole, glanced inside, and curled his lip. He looked at Wu Yue’s solemn expression and said, "Is this really a cellar? It looks more like a water well."
He added, making a circle with his arms, "It’s just missing a curb."
Wu Yue’s ears twitched. She instantly jumped in front of Teng Kun, her face lit up with a delighted surprise. "What did you just say?"
