Chapter 277: Very Rich
Chapter 277: Very Rich
Wu Yue felt a flash of irritation. ’What kind of System are you? Don’t you know your host is stressing out about this very thing?’
The System cowered. "I know you don’t want to hear about the cellar, but the reward for this quest is something you need right now. Are you sure you don’t want it?"
Hearing this, a glimmer appeared in Wu Yue’s eyes. "What’s the reward? Tell me."
The System scrunched up its chubby little face. "I’m not allowed to reveal the reward before the quest is accepted, Great Host. Please be considerate of your Little Commander, who’s just trying to survive."
After a moment’s hesitation, Wu Yue gave it a skeptical look. "Is it really that useful?"
The System immediately put on a sincere face. "I swear on my honor as a System."
Wu Yue shot it a sidelong glance. "You have any of that?"
The System whimpered. ’We’re just talking. Don’t make it a personal attack on this System!’
Seeing her Little Commander on the verge of tears, Wu Yue suppressed a laugh and said, "Alright, issue the quest."
"Quest Issued: Dig a usable cellar.
Quest Reward: Dried taro recipe.
Quest Reward: 100 points."
Wu Yue’s eyes nearly popped out of her head. She wouldn’t say much about the first reward; she was already planning to dry the taro just like she would sweet potatoes.
But that second reward of points...
"System, is there some kind of catch to this quest? Why offer such a high point reward on top of the dried taro recipe?"
The System looked resentfully toward the distant sky. ’You damn Central System! It’s all your fault for being so stingy at the start. Not only did you ruin the bond between me and my host, but now you’ve made her suspicious of me! I’m sending you razor blades!’
But when facing its host, the System patiently explained, "Since your Cultivation Level has increased, the System’s level has risen accordingly. Future quest rewards will be higher as well. So please, go complete the quest without hesitation.
Wonderful rewards are waiting for you!"
Wu Yue really felt like reaching out to pat her System’s head. She had to admit, the rewards for this quest were truly to her liking.
After casually tossing the System two points for pocket money, Wu Yue fell into deep thought.
First was choosing a location. And speaking of choosing a location...
A certain female’s face instantly fell into a pout. She really had no idea!
So, it was time to test the males’ stamina.
Wu Yue’s mischievous look couldn’t have been more obvious, and the males busy digging and building the house all shivered in unison.
’What’s going on? Is winter coming early?’
She beamed at Teng Kun, who was squatting to one side, whimpering as he smeared herbs on his face. She beckoned to him like a creepy auntie trying to lure over a child, her brilliant smile as warm and dazzling as the midday sun...
And just as blinding.
Teng Kun watched her warily. "If you have something to say, just say it. Don’t smile like that. It’s scaring me."
Every time his General smiled like that, either his older brother got a beating or he did. As a result, he was particularly sensitive to that mischievous grin.
Wu Yue’s smile vanished. "Come here."
’Acting like a dog. I try to be nice, and you don’t want it. You’d rather I yell at you instead.’
Teng Kun let out a breath, hastily crushed the herbs in his hand and slapped them onto his face, then strode over to Wu Yue.
"What’s up?"
Wu Yue took out a piece of Beast Skin, on which was drawn something so crude it couldn’t even be called a map.
But Teng Kun hadn’t become a Deputy General by being useless. He could tell at a glance that it was the mountain they were currently on.
