Surviving in the Beast World with a System

Chapter 255: Abnormal Divination

Chapter 255: Abnormal Divination

Was she really going to fight a little furball for its ore?

This peaceful coexistence continued until Yuan Lang and the Beastman Warriors returned to the cave.

Just when they had finally gotten used to the few strange beasts in their home, even more of them had suddenly shown up.

The Salt Crystal Beasts felt like smashing their ore in frustration. ’What in the world is going on?!’

’Don’t they know whose home this is?’

’Barging in without even asking for permission, and they brought their families!’

But would anyone care about the opinions of a group of soft, adorable little critters who weren’t even as tall as a Beastman’s calf?

The Beastman Warriors figured that instead of wasting time on such a mind-bending question, they’d rather eat a piece of roasted meat to regain some energy.

"You’re saying this cave was originally the home of these Salt Crystal Beasts?"

Yuan Lang looked around. The Salt Crystal Beasts were nowhere to be seen; they had already hidden themselves on the cave walls.

The light was already fading, and since their color was identical to the Salt Crystal Stones, not even the Beastman Warriors who prided themselves on their keen eyesight could spot them.

Wu Yue nodded. She turned, took a Salt Crystal Stone from her basket, and handed it to Yuan Lang. "I saw this Salt Crystal Stone fall right off one of the Salt Crystal Beasts with my own eyes.

There’s no mistake."

Yuan Lang’s deep eyes lit up. "So you’re saying that the Salt Crystal Beasts eat impure Rock Ore, and their bodies produce these high-purity Salt Crystal Stones?"

Wu Yue nodded. "I’m not certain. After all, we haven’t actually seen the Salt Crystal Stones grow on their bodies."

Yuan Lang nodded. It was best to be cautious about such matters. "Then let’s observe them for a few days and see."

Wu Yue gave the Beastman beside her a puzzled look. "Why do you sound so formal?"

Yuan Lang’s body went rigid. ’Crap!’

’She’s suspicious just from the way I talk?’

He quickly composed himself. "Formal? What’s that? Is it some kind of bug?"

Wu Yue: "..."

Seeing the Beastman’s confused expression, most of Wu Yue’s suspicion melted away.

"If you don’t know, just forget it. You..."

Before she could finish, her small frame was pulled into a strong, warm embrace.

"Don’t talk."

The Beastman’s voice was unusually low. The cave, which had been bustling with activity just a moment ago, fell instantly silent. Even the breathing of the other tribe members was barely audible.

Wu Yue pressed tightly against the Beastman’s chest and looked up at him, puzzled. ’What’s wrong?’

Seeing her frown uncomfortably, Yuan Lang glanced toward the entrance at the top of the cave.

Wu Yue’s heart tightened at the sight. ’Could the Black Wolf Tribe’s Beastmen have found them?’

The thought had barely formed when the sound of voices drifted down from the cave entrance above.

And one of those voices was exceptionally familiar to Wu Yue—it was the Black Wolf Witch!

’What’s he doing here?’

The Black Wolf Witch stood on the high ground above, surrounded by numerous Beastman Warriors from the Black Wolf Tribe.

In his hands, he held several tortoise shells, which floated in the air, empowered by his witch power, and occasionally shifted direction.

But his brow was tightly furrowed.

Although the Beastman Warriors who had returned from the last hunt reported that they hadn’t found anything out of the ordinary.

However, based on the strange results of his last divination, the Black Wolf Witch had cautiously performed another one. The outcome was identical to the first.

"Witch, we haven’t found anything unusual in the area. The Beastman Warriors we sent also brought back news that Yuan Qi and the young female have already returned to the Snow Tiger Tribe."
