Chapter 253: The Deep Blue Pudgy Furball

Just then, the deep-blue stone seemed to awaken completely from its slumber and began to shake its body more quickly.

A sound like shattering glass echoed as deep-blue crystals fell off the "stone."

And what appeared before the beastmen’s eyes...

Wu Yue watched the small creature sitting amidst a layer of shattered Salt Crystal Stones, feeling her heart melt from its sheer cuteness.

It had fur the same color as the Salt Crystal Stones and four stubby little paws that curved into a soft arc when they touched the ground.

Its roly-poly little body was covered in deep-blue fur. After lifting a hind leg to scratch its neck, it settled its plump little bottom onto the Salt Crystal Stones that had just flaked off its body.

Then, it opened a pair of perfectly round, clear blue eyes and tilted its small head slightly, as if wondering who these strange Beastmen before it were.

Wu Yue screamed internally, ’AAAAAH! It’s so cute! I want to squish it!’

The Beastmen, who just moments ago had looked like they were facing a formidable enemy, were now frozen in a stunned daze.

’Meow meow meow?’

’Did one of the tribe’s cubs wander out here?’

Apparently deciding that these Beastman Warriors posed no threat, the adorable little creature lifted its plump rear, gave a big stretch, and then scampered toward the small cooking stove, its wonderfully squeezable-looking body jiggling with every step.

The Salt Crystal Stones on the other "stones" near the cooking stove had also begun to flake away, revealing several small, deep-blue furballs.

The adorable little creatures huddled together, yipping and crying, though what they were saying was anyone’s guess.

But Wu Yue’s attention remained fixed on the first little furball to emerge from a Salt Crystal Stone.

After running over to check on its kin by the cooking stove, the little one began waddling its roly-poly body toward a corner of the cavern.

Wu Yue thought it was going to relieve itself, so she didn’t follow.

But a moment later, the little creature had vanished.

Wu Yue’s heart leaped with joy. ’So this cavern really does have another exit?’

Just as she was about to call the Beastman Warriors over to investigate, a roly-poly, deep-blue rump wriggled back out from that same corner.

This time, however, it was holding a somewhat cloudy, pale-yellow stone in its mouth, a look of pure bliss on its face as it chewed. CRUNCH, CRUNCH.

The whiskers on either side of its small mouth twitched every so often, and its previously round, clear blue eyes were now squinted in satisfaction. While gnawing on the ore, it would let out little hums of enjoyment.

The other Salt Crystal Beasts, who had just been yelping in a huddle, were instantly captivated by the ore in the plump furball’s mouth. They swarmed over, surrounding the little fatty and yelping, occasionally nuzzling its chubby belly.

Perhaps growing impatient from all the nuzzling, the plump furball lifted its head and yelped twice. It raised a chubby paw, pointed toward the corner from before, and then lowered its head to continue enjoying its delicacy.

As if they had finally gotten the information they wanted, the other Salt Crystal Beasts swarmed toward the corner.

Looking at the ore in the plump furball’s mouth, Wu Yue’s eyes narrowed. She looked up again, surveying the entire cavern.

The entire cavern was encased in deep-blue salt crystals, looking exceptionally magnificent during the Daytime.

As if a thought had struck her, she turned and walked toward the cave entrance the Beastmen were digging out.

The entrance had been widened enough for three Beastmen to walk through side-by-side.

She brushed dirt from the tunnel walls as she walked deeper inside.
