Chapter 241: Make It Ours
Chapter 241: Make It Ours
The two of them fell silent, then let out an awkward chuckle. "What mischief could we possibly get into? We’re righteous beastmen."
"I just heard you. You were talking about causing trouble."
Her wide, round eyes stared at the two beastmen, full of suspicion.
’Their conversation really reminded me of that incident with the Black Wolf Tribe...’
"So you’re the ones who put the Stinging Tail Bees in the Lion Tribe’s Witch Disciple’s grass hut?"
Yuan Lang said calmly, "It wasn’t me. It was Teng Qian."
Wu Yue laughed dryly. "You know, I think you should change your name."
Yuan Lang looked at her in confusion. "Change it to what?"
’He felt his current name was just barely worthy of someone as excellent as himself.’
Wu Yue said with a straight face, "The Blame-Shifter."
Yuan Lang chuckled to himself. ’Is the little female a wandering heroine or something? Only they address each other with heroic titles.’
Believing he had uncovered Wu Yue’s secret identity, Yuan Lang was secretly quite pleased with himself.
A moment later, Yuan Qi, having finished his smug little tour of the place, returned to the group humming and laughing.
"This salt cave must belong to our Snow Tiger Tribe, but we must first ensure that the beastmen from the Black Wolf Tribe don’t discover us.
Do you all have any good ideas?"
Wu Yue frowned. "Why isn’t this cave in our tribe’s territory?"
After the beastmen fell silent for a moment, Yuan Lang’s long, slender hand with its prominent knuckles instantly transformed into a furry tiger paw.
Then, sharp claws extended from the paw. With a single swipe, he dug a hole in the ground, his face a mask of determination. "Then we’ll make it ours."
Nearby, Teng Qian poked his younger brother’s strong waist. "Looks like the boss wants to conquer them by force again."
Teng Kun nodded in perfect agreement. ’Of course he does.’
Yuan Qi frowned at him. "Are you saying you want to seize this piece of territory from the Black Wolf Tribe?"
Wu Yue looked at the small pit in the ground, and another idea formed in her mind. "I don’t think that’s what Yuan Lang means."
Hearing this, Yuan Qi looked at her. "Oh?"
Wu Yue smiled, turned, and pointed to the pit. "What Yuan Lang means is that our beastmen should connect this cave to our tribe’s territory—and do it in a way the Black Wolf Tribe won’t discover. Right?"
she asked, looking at Yuan Lang as his large paw slowly reverted to its humanoid form.
A flash of admiration crossed the beastman’s eyes. "The little female guessed correctly."
He looked at his Father. "We can’t just come into the Black Wolf Tribe’s territory and start digging for salt. Not unless we do as you suggested and make this land part of the Snow Tiger Tribe.
So, the only way to get the salt home without the Black Wolf Tribe discovering us is to dig an underground tunnel leading all the way back to the Snow Tiger Tribe."
Yuan Qi’s eyes lit up. "Connecting the salt cave to our tribe’s territory from underground... A brilliant idea!"
Wu Yue nodded. "This cave is very deep. We can start digging at night and rest during the Daytime. That way, the members of the Black Wolf Tribe will never discover us."
"Also, Father, when you go back, you can have the rest of our people find a secret spot and start digging from our tribe’s land toward here. That’ll make it go faster."
After the Three Beasts concluded their conference, they quietly called the other beastmen over to assign tasks.
Teng Qian and Teng Kun, meanwhile, were assigned to lookout duty. Don’t ask why—as Yuan Lang’s most loyal followers, it was a given they would be the ones to stay behind.
Wu Yue chose to stay in the cave with Yuan Lang and his group.
