"What did you say?" The two sisters thought they had heard wrong and looked at Xu Ke with disbelief.

"I said, would you like to stay by my side?" Xu Ke repeated his question.

"But there’s something I need to tell you upfront: it’s impossible for my women to be just the two of you. If you can accept that, I will take good care of you and love you well in the future. Even if the food in their bowl was delicious, they always thought others had something better, always wanting to try a bite or simply take it for themselves.

This mindset was something Tangtang could not comprehend.

"I thought you were different from other men. When Guoguo and I came to you, you rejected us. I thought you couldn’t accept the idea of us three living together. Now, it seems I was wrong. I seem to have never truly understood you, yet I assumed I did." Tangtang said, looking at Xu Ke’s eyes.

Xu Ke met Tangtang’s gaze and said, after a moment of silence, "Maybe the filter you gave me was too thick, thinking I saved you made me a great person, thinking I cared about you made me a good man."

"But in reality, I’ve never considered myself a good person or a good man, because good people never kill, but I’ve killed, good men never have two women simultaneously, but I have, and I’ve enjoyed every moment of it." Xu Ke said, quietly.

"Why did you reject Guoguo and me back then? Was it because we weren’t pretty enough, or for some other reason?" Tangtang asked, puzzled. If he wasn’t a virtuous gentleman, why did he reject them?

"You are very beautiful, more beautiful than most people I’ve met." Xu Ke said honestly, looking at Tangtang’s face.

"If you think we’re beautiful, why didn’t you accept us? Was it some sort of reverse psychology or what?" Tangtang asked sharply, her tone vastly different from her usual attitude towards Xu Ke.

But Xu Ke maintained an accepting posture.

During the time when Tangtang and Guoguo were unconscious, Xu Ke had thought a lot about their possible reactions after hearing his words.

So Tangtang’s change in attitude was within his expectations.

"It wasn’t because of reverse psychology or any other reason; it was simply because our vibes didn’t match. I rejected you because I saw you as my sisters, and having inappropriate thoughts about sisters is very wrong." Xu Ke said slowly.

"Then why did you agree now? Why did you touch us in that room? If you hadn’t, none of this would happen, right?" Tangtang asked persistently.

"I did think about sending you to the hospital, but what that woman said changed my mind. I couldn’t gamble your future on whether her words were true or false. I’m afraid when you wake up you’ll hate me, though it seems you don’t appear like you would now," Xu Ke said with a helpless smile.

"You can’t have everything; even if I had the chance again, I wouldn’t regret my decision."
