Chapter 975: Let’s Play Together
Chapter 975: Let’s Play Together
"Mr. Song, what do you mean?" The staff looked at Mr. Song with an utterly incredulous expression and asked.
"Is my meaning still unclear?" Mr. Song tilted his head in confusion as he gazed at the staff.
"Mr. Song, you can’t do this. We agreed that this party house was rented to you. For this, I’ve lost another client. If you act this way, it’s somewhat inhumane," the staff argued emphatically.
"But what does this have to do with me? Losing another client isn’t it because you’ve breached your own promise? You didn’t tell me when you rented this party house to me that it was also linked to another person. If you had informed me early on that it was linked to someone else, I wouldn’t have rented this party house. So, in general, it’s you who committed fraud first. Therefore, what right do you have to show that kind of attitude towards me?" Mr. Song said, amused.
"You’re, you’re just being unreasonable," the staff hesitated and said.
"Being unreasonable presupposes there’s reason to win over. If there’s no inherent logic, there’s no way to win isn’t it?" Mr. Song looked at the other person with a faint smile.
The staff watched Mr. Song with a familiar expression on his face, feeling as if she had been doused with a cold water bucket in the chilly midwinter, suddenly snapping awake.
Only then did she realize that this matter was out of her control. With her strength, she couldn’t possibly contend with the other party, as regardless of what was said, she alone would bear the loss and swallow the bitter fruit.
The expression on the staff’s face became extremely colorful at that moment, showing an incredibly unpleasant expression, on the verge of tears, the tears hovering in her eyes.
Even at this point, she still held hope for Mr. Song, hoping he might spare her since she was a woman.
But from beginning to end, Mr. Song simply smiled without speaking.
No one present forced her, nor did anyone speak on her behalf.
The people with Xu Ke were casino employees, having seen all kinds of human emotions at the gambling table, impossible to be moved by such minor matters.
Mr. Song addressed even less reason to change his mind for a staff member.
In the end, it was the staff member who had to back down.
She assisted Xu Ke and Mr. Song in processing the refund.
A large sum of money was suddenly withdrawn from the account, leaving the staff member’s heart aching from the sight of the account’s emptiness.
She couldn’t understand how things had turned out like this. She merely wanted to generate more revenue. Was this wrong? Why was she the only one punished in the end?
It was absolutely unfair.
But at this event and in this setting, who would ever talk to her about fairness? Finally, the staff couldn’t hold it in anymore, clutching her head, she squatted and burst into tears.
Yet no one comforted her; everyone followed Xu Ke out of the party house, including Mr. Song.
"Meeting here today counts as fate, I know another party house that’s quite nice, why not visit together?" Mr. Song extended the invitation to Xu Ke.
Although it was his first meeting with Xu Ke, strangely enough, he felt a natural affection for Xu Ke.
This affection came mysteriously, intriguing him to explore further.
For the first time in his life, he proactively extended goodwill towards someone else.
Xu Ke looked into Mr. Song’s eyes, not sensing any malice, instead perceiving his curiosity, which wasn’t a kind of curiosity Xu Ke disliked.
Moreover, he had promised his employees to take them out for team building. Since the other party had now offered him a platform, the platform that he needed at the moment, why would he refuse?
"I see you’re alone too, if you don’t mind, why not join us?" Given the gesture, Xu Ke naturally extended a hand back.
Mr. Song smiled, very pleased with Xu Ke’s attitude but still offered some polite words, "This might not be appropriate, as you’re all employees from one company and I’m just an outsider. Joining you might make them uncomfortable."
"No worries, we’re all people of the world, what’s wrong with sharing a meal at the same table? We’re just forming friendships!"
Before Xu Ke could speak, someone with a sense of tact quickly stepped in to help Xu Ke out.
"Since you all put it that way, I won’t be modest," Mr. Song smiled and said.
"There’s no need for modesty, the only thing is we don’t know the place you’re referring to, could you lead the way please?" Xu Ke said with a smile.
Xu Ke’s smile differed completely from Mr. Song’s, one akin to a summer breeze, the other like a bright moon, making one feel warm, the other cool.
Yet standing together, they painted an unusual picture, captivating your eye as if only they were visible to you.
Mr. Song nodded, not refusing Xu Ke.
A unique scene unfolded on the road, with a luxury car leading ahead, followed distantly by two buses.
The three vehicles drove one behind the other on the road, finally arriving at a party house.
When Xu Ke and his group arrived, whether by coincidence or a deliberate act by Mr. Song, there was no one in the party house, and even the door key was taken by Mr. Song from under a flower pot.
"Is it alright for us to just enter like this?" One of the employees with Xu Ke, unaware of the situation, asked naively.
"Rest assured, I’ve booked this party house, so they placed the key here in advance. We can play freely, it’s no problem," Mr. Song said.
"This is quite embarrassing," Xu Ke widened his eyes slightly, displaying a look of embarrassment.
Mr. Song responded with a smile, "You agreed to let me join you, didn’t you? You bring me along, I provide a venue, it’s normal, there’s nothing to feel embarrassed about."
"The causal relationship is different, why don’t we exchange contact details and I’ll return the money for the party house later," Xu Ke said, taking out his phone.
Originally wanting to decline, Mr. Song, upon seeing Xu Ke’s phone, instead smiled, no longer refusing.
"I’m not a petty person, no need for this," Mr. Song explained verbally fearing Xu Ke might take him for a petty person, while already adding Xu Ke to his friends list in action.
