Supreme Heir Son-in-law

Chapter 949 - 948: Confrontation

Chapter 949 - 948: Confrontation

Tangtang immediately held Guoguo in her arms, glaring maliciously at her so-called mother, her body trembling with anger. If it weren’t for Guoguo’s hand clutching her sleeve tightly, she wouldn’t be able to resist charging forward.

For so many years, it was just her and Guoguo relying on each other, growing up with bumps and scrapes. No matter what they faced, it was always the two of them facing it together. One could say the person they loved most in this world was each other; they treated each other as if they were their second lives. Now, this other life of hers was being treated like this. How could Tangtang remain absolutely calm?

"Speak properly, there’s no need to get physical." Xu Ke rubbed his fingers at his side, watching the pair of parents with eyes as dark and deep as an abyss.

"Who are you? What does me disciplining my daughter have to do with you?" It wasn’t until Xu Ke spoke that the woman noticed his presence.

Should we say, no wonder they’re a family? The woman’s expression was exactly like the man’s when he was scrutinizing Xu Ke.

"What’s your relationship with these two low-lives?" The woman sized him up as she spoke.

"What low-lives? Please mind your language when you speak. Legally, they are independent individuals, they have their own dignity. Speaking like that is an insult to others’ dignity, which is not very nice." Xu Ke said coldly to the woman.

Xu Ke spoke earnestly and seriously, yet the woman began to laugh loudly, "It’s killing me with laughter. They crawled out of my womb. Without me, who knows which Naihe Bridge they’d be waiting in line at to drink Mengpo Soup? I gave them life, so they owe me. Don’t mention slapping them; if I stab them, so what? I’m their mother, I have that right. How dare you, an outsider, interfere here?" The woman said bluntly.

"If I remember correctly, these two burdens went to the Saint Howl to work as hostesses. Since you’re with these two burdens, could you be their client?" The man leaned against the door frame, looking at Xu Ke with a greedy face.

"What are you talking about?" Before Xu Ke could speak, Tangtang exploded. She had been holding back her anger, and now she couldn’t hold it in anymore, "What sort of parents talk about their child this way? We’re university graduates, what kind of job can’t we find? Why would we go to the Saint Howl? Don’t you know in your hearts that it’s to pay off your gambling debts? Now you use that look and tone to talk to me? Are you even human? Do you even have a conscience?"

Tangtang’s body shook as she glared fiercely at her so-called parents, trembling with rage. This time, Guoguo held Tangtang to calm her agitated emotions.

When they curse, no matter how nasty the words, it seems being their children means they have to endure it. Now, when their children curse back, they don’t listen to the content or consider whether they truly did something wrong. The first reaction is to raise their hands as if to strike, but this time their hands didn’t successfully come down. They were intercepted by Xu Ke in mid-air.

"Let go of me. Disciplining our children has nothing to do with you. Stop meddling in other people’s business." The woman glared at Xu Ke loudly, and being close enough, Xu Ke could smell the stench from her mouth, making his already unpleasant expression even more so.

"They’re already adults, and besides, I don’t think they said anything wrong just now. So what are you trying to discipline them for? Because they spoke the truth and struck a nerve? Come on, the Qing Dynasty is long gone. Do you still think it’s the old society where parents could kill their children if they wanted?" Xu Ke looked at these parents standing before him, his eyes full of disdain and contempt that could not be hidden.

Xu Ke firmly held their pressure points, but after just a couple of simple attempts to pull away, Xu Ke released them, finding them too filthy. Even with the most basic contact and such a small area of contact, Xu Ke already began to feel uncomfortable, even itching, as though the bugs from them had crawled onto his own body.

"Who are you to care? What capacity do you have to meddle in our family affairs? I’m telling you, even if this takes us to the police, I’m not afraid. We haven’t done anything wrong. What’s wrong with us as parents disciplining our children? Don’t mention that they just graduated from college; even if they got married and became mothers themselves, I’d still have the right to deal with them." The woman looked at Xu Ke defiantly, but didn’t dare to act rashly again. Even though Xu Ke didn’t hit them, the hands that Xu Ke had grabbed hurt terribly.

They had mixed around the casino for years, seen all sorts of people, and had offended quite a few. Of course, they had encountered some of the debt collectors’ methods. Though not all, they had experienced many. Xu Ke’s one move was enough to show them he wasn’t someone they could beat. Just today, they decided not to mess with Xu Ke.

"You’re infringing on human rights." Xu Ke said calmly to the couple. Since touching their wrists, Xu Ke felt uneasy, now barely restraining himself from taking them to account. If they still didn’t know what’s good for them, their outcomes wouldn’t be good once he couldn’t hold back anymore, he swore.

"They’re my kids, they carry my surname, and they’ll be buried in the family grave after they die. I can do as I please with them. And don’t just assume that because they look like this, it means we’re bullying them. I’ll tell you, if you really think these two little lotuses need your protection, then you’re dead wrong. They’re far more cunning than you think. If we hadn’t come out to interrupt you, do you think you’d be safe after entering this room? I’ll tell you, once you stepped in here, without fifty grand, you wouldn’t be able to leave." The man looked at Xu Ke and sneered.

Evidently, the man went to great lengths to ruin his daughters, almost as if they were his greatest enemies, and only by destroying them could he be at ease. It was utterly baffling behavior.

Tangtang and Guoguo just stared coldly at these parents, watching as whatever remaining affection for them evaporated completely in this moment. This time, they finally managed to remain calm. Listening to the couple’s derogation, their hearts couldn’t even stir a ripple. They listened to the derogation like listening to a story.
