Supreme Heir Son-in-law

Chapter 927 - 926: Going to the Police Station

Chapter 927 - 926: Going to the Police Station

The man who was taken away by the police thought he had narrowly escaped a disaster, and the tense expression of panic on his face relaxed a little. The police escorting him back to the station saw this and had an indescribable look of mockery in their eyes.

Mocking the other for thinking it was all over, having such thoughts was simply too naive.

But the police only thought about it in their hearts and didn’t say it out loud, allowing the man to relax a little temporarily.

On the other side, He Chen pulled He Qing quickly to a private hospital invested by the He Family and arranged for a physical examination for He Qing as fast as possible. Fortunately, He Qing’s body had no major issues; the muscle relaxant used on her was compliant with medical conditions, and the dosage was not large, so it wouldn’t cause her harm. She just needed a good sleep to naturally metabolize the drug.

Upon hearing this news, He Chen finally breathed a deep sigh of relief and shifted his gaze to Xu Ke, looking at him with genuine gratitude for the first time.

"No matter what, I still have to thank you for what happened today. Without you, who knows what would have happened to Qing. She’s always been very proud, and if she had suffered in that kind of hands, I’m afraid she wouldn’t let herself off easily, maybe even doing something foolish." He Chen sighed deeply and said.

"You’ve also been outside for a long time today. I’ve arranged a room for you to rest. You don’t need to stay and look after Qing, I’ll find someone to take care of her," He Chen said.

"Alright, then I won’t stay longer. Goodbye." Xu Ke said as if he hadn’t noticed anything, and turned to leave the hospital.

In that instant of turning away, Xu Ke’s eyes filled with a mocking expression.

He Chen’s gratitude towards him was genuine, but so was his guardedness. The excuse that he was worried about Xu Ke being too tired and thus arranged a room for him to rest—Xu Ke knew it was just a pretext to get rid of him.

However, this arrangement played right into Xu Ke’s hands; he didn’t want to stay in the hospital to take care of He Qing anyway. Now, he had a ready excuse to go out and rest, wasn’t it great?

Watching Xu Ke’s departing figure, He Chen’s expression gradually turned gloomy. The murderous intent in his heart boiled like water, but it wasn’t directed at Xu Ke; it was at the man brought in by the police who dared to harm his sister.

But before meeting that man, he needed to go home, take a good shower, and meanwhile, contact the people at the police station to fix the man’s jaw. Otherwise, the constant drooling was simply too horrific.

That’s right, He Chen’s cleanliness obsession kicked in. Previously, in the small motel, he had suppressed it because He Qing was more important. But now that it’s confirmed He Qing is okay, the incidents at the motel resurfaced in his mind. He remembered the man’s drooling chin, which was simply a large-scale waste and disgust entity, yet he kicked that person, inside and out, a garbage, making his stomach churn.

The feeling of kicking a lump of flesh was simply too disgusting.

He Chen took a thorough shower at home and then headed to the police station.

"Young Master He, why are you here?"

As soon as He Chen arrived at the station, quite a few people swarmed towards him, surrounding him like dogs seeing a bone. Without a large tail, otherwise, they might have already started wagging.

"What? Does the young master need to report wherever he goes?"

The person who came to greet him had a good attitude, but He Chen’s attitude was hardly friendly. It could even be said to be as if he had eaten gunpowder, very abrasive. But even if He Chen’s attitude was poor, since the He Family stood behind him, none of them dared to show the slightest dissatisfaction.

"No need, no need, look at this mouth of mine, it really can’t speak, I should slap myself!" The man who misspoke gave himself two slaps and then continued staying with Xu Ke as they walked inside the police station.

Due to this man’s behavior, He Chen stopped speaking, and of course, made no further inappropriate actions towards him.

The man with a higher position in the station led He Chen to a relatively quiet, clean, and elegantly arranged reception room.

"Bring me the person with the dislocated jaw you just caught today." He Chen said, sitting on a disinfected chair prepared by the bodyguard.

The policeman first hesitated a little, but after He Chen gave him a look, he quickly nodded, "Understood, I’ll bring the person over." The policeman showed a flattering smile to He Chen, then went to find that man.

The police realized that their internal communication was not seamless. The group who went to the scene earlier did not warn the police conducting the interrogation. Plus, previously they had set his jaw and arm, their diligent appearance successfully misled other officers.

The man arriving at the station was still anxious, but after experiencing a series of considerate care at the station, his fear was almost gone, even completely disappeared. Now, seeing the policeman smiling so kindly at him, saying someone was here for him, the man subconsciously thought that the station had notified his family to pick him up, so he wasn’t apprehensive at all, even took time to tidy his clothes before leaving.

This made the policeman who came to take him more certain of his assumptions about the man, treating him even better. Along the way, he walked and chatted with him, bringing him to the reception room.

Inside the reception room, He Chen had already heard their voices. A low atmosphere enveloped the room, pressing down on the many officers who couldn’t lift their heads. Only the bodyguards long accustomed to He Chen, unaffectedly coped with the scene; their stress resilience had been well developed.

"Young Master He, I’ve brought the person you wanted." The officer opened the door, speaking in a tone as if taking credit before He Chen.

The man he brought immediately collapsed, his legs gave way, and in front of everyone, he knelt before He Chen.

As he knelt, the cop who had escorted him finally realized the off-beat atmosphere, his smile fading away under He Chen’s gaze.

"Why aren’t you speaking anymore? Just now, I heard you chatting happily all the way here. Wasn’t the conversation going well? Continue." He Chen said with a smirk-like expression.

"No, I have no relationship with him at all. I thought he was one of your men, so I chatted with him. If I had known he’d offended you, I would never have treated him like that." Realizing He Chen’s displeasure, the officer quickly spoke up to show his loyalty.
